- After 70 years, it was a momentous occasion as NZ2308 took to the skies, by aviator Steve Hinton, for its inaugural flight following yet another impeccable restoration by Avspecs in Auckland New Zealand.
Congrats to all involved in another remarkable Mosquito restoration.😀
Jolly good show chaps!.. nice one mate 👍✈️🇳🇿
Well done everyone. Its fantastic to see such a historic aircraft back in the air.
Exciting moments for the restoration team and aviation enthusiasts. I enjoyed the engine fireup at Warbirds on Parade at Ardmore ten days ago. It is a pity that I could not stay in NZ longer to witness its flight.
...NOTHING BUT AWSOMENESS...👍
I hope you guys bring the Mosquito to Oshkosh!! ❤❤❤
I'm old enough to remember when we had a Mossie here in the UK that actually flew, I also remember the Vampire and Meteor display when I used to go to the RAF Finningley airshow here in Yorkshire.
Good news, I think those planes are back in the UK? Avspecs in NZ are rebuilding more, and a local crew here still has a Vampire.
Bril! Well done all!. Nuff said!. 🙂
Fantastic Sight ♥
Wooden Wonder.
Any idea of the significance of the markings on this Mossie?
Original RNZAF markings...
75 SQN RNZAF postwar
@@johnfallon3525 That is interesting. I was trying to think why the Mossie would have what I would refer to as D-Day stripes on the wing. So it can't have been for D-Day as 75Sqn(NZ) RAF as it was in 1944 was flying Lancasters. So I guessing for Malaya/Indonesia Confrontation, Will have to research this.
Will this be owned Lewis air Legends this year and reassembled buy POF Chino in a few months
Yeah, with the Kiwis telling them how to do it...
😎😎
So, this makes two in the collection now?
This is the 4th.... 1 more already started.
The 5th is for us uk warbird enthusiasts at last I'll get go see one fly again last time for me was raf cosford airshow 1995
Restoration? No it’s a new build with a minimum of old parts. Still fantastic but let’s not kid ourselves
