My Dad loved it too, He said he could fly it with just a finger, it was so finely balanced. He did 25 ops in Mozzies with 487 Sqn on top of his 57 in Wellingtons with 75 Sqn.

Beautiful movie of a beautiful aircraft. These were operated by 109 Pathfinder Sqn at RAF Little Staughton, where my father was Sgt pilot on Lancasters with 582. To honour his and the memories of all who served with Bomber Command I'm presently building this airfield, the world's most accurate replica of a Bomber Command base, for XPlane flight sim. Completion notionally late 24.

I didn’t realise that Mozzies flew from Little Staughton-I live close to there (St Neots) and regularly cycle past the airfield-in fact we quite regularly do a ‘Pathfinder’ ride round all of the airfields. Being a volunteer at Shuttleworth I see Spitfires and Hurricanes all the time, and the Historic Flight Lancaster is a regular part of our flying displays-would love to see a Mozzie join us one day………

So great to see a mosquito again; my father worked at DeHavilands in Hatfield at the end of the war developing the hydraulic systems for both the mosquito and the Sea Hornet. After the war, I used to salvage balsa wood from the rear bulkheads from the demolition site when they scrapped so many surplus machines. I will never forget the flights leaving DeHavilands for their RAF stations in the latter days of the Second World War.
