That ignition was hella funny. but very serious at the same time. great review. They need to put in a valve to control gas flow so you can avoid the mini explosions for novices
There is a control valve. I just had the tank too far from where I was lighting. First time lighting it. Didn’t make that mistake again. Scared the bejeezus outta me.
Can you mail me the design , dimensions, gas nozel as we don't get here in outskirts will be helpful for small vendor my email id is erfanpeerzada@gmail.com
Hey quick question was this your first time lighting it? I notice u jumped back and my first time i did that same thing because it loud pop im just wonder does this only happen first time using it?
No it was the second. My lighter went out and the tube was full of propane. You have to light the lighter and turn on the propane gradually. It does scare you sometimes
They last quite a while. Someone else asked me that but unfortunately I swing that tank between blacks one and fryer. Not sure which uses the most but it lasts. Get up to temp then cut off. Will hold your temp for a while. Start up again only if needed. I’m on fry 3 on this tank devoted to answering those questions.
I leave it closed uncovered and full of oil in my shop/garage. I have had no problem with bugs or ants or anything else. All debris falls to bottom under the heat so the oil stays clean. They make a cover as well but I do not have it. Will be putting out an update in the next week or so covering my experience over the last 10 months. So for that time same oil. I’m at about 54 fry sessions and it’s darker but still good. Cheap sams club clear frying oil too. No expensive oils in there. I have saved a ton of money on oil. If there are bugs as gross as it seems, 350f takes care of them and they fall to the bottom. I will see when I change the oil. Probably at the 12 month point.
I have been looking into getting a fryer. Thats a pretty nice one ya got there. Wondering how hard it is on the propane? Keep me posted on that. I hate when you have something that sucks propane like crazy.
Yeah we did a basket and had very little fluctuations. It was raining and blowing sideways so I put the camera up. Temp held like a charm. Was actually able to do two basket of fries. A basket of cheese sticks and 8 corn dogs with it totally off. Thanks for coming by.
Charles I have had the same oil in it since purchase. 10 months. I don’t drain and haven’t strained. I just cooked in it last night and it is starting to brown but the way this thing is designed all the crap and sludge goes to the bottom below the heat and is never seen again until you drain. I will most likely have to do a grease swap at the year mark. I figure I have paid for the fryer in just grease savings this year. I just put the sams club clear frying grease in it when I started. No expensive peanut oil or anything. I used peanut or canola before and would basically ruin the grease on every fry so at that cost it’s paid for itself. I think the sams clear frying oil is 20bucks for 5 gallons. The way the fryer is designed it keeps it nice and no burned oil. I love the fryer.
Jason, It really does not use a whole lot as it takes it about 11-13 min to get to temp, and I then turn off the fire and it holds the temp for usually most of the cook. I also share the tank with the blackstone. I usually have to fill up once every month 1/2 or so. I cook a lot on it and the blackstone. I will have to leave a bottle on the fryer and try to get a good feeling for the gas use. It is not overly a gas hog or I would have noticed.
@@BBQbyBiggs Received my fryer last week, Let me tell ya. This thing is a Beast. Minus the oil leakage by the temp gauge.. Had to pay a welder to fix the issue smdh

Looks like something my grandmother would use, she loves cooking especially frying so this might come in handy for her

Rofl I almost spit my drink out when u did that
That is a beast 👍 look forward to seeing what you're going to cook up
You and me both!
Pretty cool fryer Biggs, it definitely looks like it can handle a lot! Curious to see what ya got planned for it. Have a great weekend brother!
Thanks! You too!

Awesome! What paint do y’all use? I have a couple of spots at the welds that are surface rusting. It is a machine for sure! I love it so far.

How's it holding up and how does it compare to the bayou classic?
It has held up well! Paint needs touched up. Bayou is just a bit thinner metal and a little more effort to maintain temp but works amazing as well.
Hi! I'm new; just starting out and getting used to everything. Thanks so much for your comments. Let's keep in touch.
Will do! Welcome!
I am looking at getting one this week for my outdoor kitchen. My question is how long does propane tank last?
They last quite a while. Someone else asked me that but unfortunately I swing that tank between blacks one and fryer. Not sure which uses the most but it lasts. Get up to temp then cut off. Will hold your temp for a while. Start up again only if needed. I’m on fry 3 on this tank devoted to answering those questions.
Would you recommend the 4 gallon or 6 gallon version?
If I did it again I would do 6 to get a turkey in it, but the 4 frys a ton fast
Can you leave the oil in these and fry again another day? How do you keep bugs from crawling in?

Simple BBQ I sure will! So far so good.
Did you get that fryer at Buc-ees? Looks like I have seen one like that there. Take care!
Yes we did!
Hey man, are you able to move this thing around easily from place to place with the wheels it has, with oil in it? (Cooled off of course)
I roll it around from the garage to the outside just fine. Moving in a truck or trailer I would empty then just refill.
@@BBQbyBiggs thanks for the prompt response
Great video love it 👍
Thanks for the visit
Looks ok although a little loud. A basket of frozen fries is always a good experiment to see temperature fluctuations.

Wow! Yhis looks pretty awesome BBQ by Biggs! I guess I need one for my CHANNEL!
worth every penny. Saved so much on oil already!
Hello there. New subscriber here. Do you still have the Fryer? What is your opinion /Feedback now?
It has been a great price to have. I have repainted it once because I wanted to. It works great!
Can you leave oil in one of these or would you have to drain oil after each use if I was to leave the machine out on a deck

@@BBQbyBiggs ok thanks
That's a nice set up thanks for sharing .....
Thanks for watching!
Nice toy looks like a fish or shrimp fry coming up can’t wait to see what you do
Yes sir! It cooks a crap load of fish.
I’m sure it does
are you able to fry a turkey in it
You can the 6 and 8 gallon. The 4 is a bit small for a Big Turkey
Do you jump every time you light it?
Not now. It kinda scared me at first.
Just order my 6 gallon, On its way..
You will not regret it. It has been an awesome addition. Waiting on my bigger basket to make some BIG chicken fried steaks!
