    I almost pulled the trigger on the Canon XF 605 but since this z200 come out I am definitely going to pick it up because I am so heavily invested into Sony I am familiar with the camera menus. This will be great for the race coverage I do for ATV and dirt bike racing in the woods

      I think the stabilization and variable ND will make it perfect for action type videos, I think the Z200 is a better choice indeed.

      But can it record at 4k@60fps for fast moving subjects ? If not what’s the use of spending so much money just to shoot 1080p@60fps ? I have the Sony fdr-ax53 & I would love to upgrade but I’m waiting for Sony to upgrade the AX53 with a camcorder that can shoot 4k@60fps…..my Sony looks great shooting 1080p@60fps but I’m picky when it comes to a camcorder that can shoot 4k@60fps….it has to have great stabilization just like my AX53 does…..all my Dragracing videos on my channel are shot with my Sony FDR-AX53 in 1080p@60fps for Dragracing, in my opinion any type of panning needs to be shot in 60fps & not 24 or 30fps.

    • @VisualsCoUk
      @VisualsCoUk  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disgree here. The processor has to do much more work in 120fps, and the skew is visibly worse. Maybe it's just me, either way, the rolling shutter is not an issue on this camera at all.

    • @coastmale
      @coastmale 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@VisualsCoUk I am telling you you are factually wrong. Its literally reading out less pixels and as a result its reading them at a faster rate. You can even test this. Set the camera (if you still have it I know they're usually press loaners) to 4k 120 and 4k60 but have the same equivalent focal length. So youll have to go a bit wider on the 4k120. And you'll see less visible skewing. you're only noticing the skew more due to the crop zooming into the lines making the pace at which they move faster causing more visible skew. At an equivalent focal length it wont be as visible in 4k120. Also from a technical standpoint for the camera to even grab 120 frames without black out the minimum readout should be faster than 1/120th of a second. Which is about 8.33 ms of rolling shutter. For 60fps its 1/60th of a second, so 16.67ms. if you're correct and there's less rolling shutter at 4k60 than at 4k120 then the full sensor should be able to read out 120fps. The reason for the crop is that the full sensor cannot read out as fast as 8.33 ms so it crops into a 4k region that can. The processor doesnt cause rolling shutter, its the sensor itself that has that spec. As such a crop is faster because it needs to read out less pixels. As such rolling shutter is better in 4k120 than in 4k60

    im shocked that they can't squeeze a larger sensor inside this huge ass body frame.

    • @VisualsCoUk
      @VisualsCoUk  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      they probably could, but would this be necessary? There's quite a few other cameras with full-frame sensors (and interchangeable lenses) it's a different market segment and target base.

      I suppose so, but then you wouldn't have a 20X zoom (more like 10X or less). To cover sporting events, concerts, and other live events it's more important that I have zoom coverage rather than video quality. Also I was reminded the 1" sensor produces a larger DOF which is important for fast moving action shots to keep the subject in focus.

      I only need a camera like this that is 1080p. I need to stream in long distance (20x-25x) with clear image but I don't need a 4K video. I guess I need to pay a big extra just because of that.

    Wondering if this cam is the successor to z150 or z190? How's the low light? Z190 is terrible in that regard.

    • @VisualsCoUk
      @VisualsCoUk  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'd say the z190. Given the bigger 1-inch sensor in the Z200, low-light performance has been substantially improved. I didn't get a chance to shoot much low-light with it, but in the studio I didn't have to push it at all with very minimal lighting. A couple of 1x1 Litepanels and a small Aputure 200x.

      We can estimate. 1 inch sesnor is half the size of m4/3 sensor. m4/3 sensor like gh6 gh7 perform well up to iso 3200 in vlog. So this camcorder should perform well up to iso 1600.

      @@nightdonutstudio hmm...I know it's unfair to compare the 1" sensor against a APSC- forget full frame...ISO 1600 sounds low...what's that in GAIN? I never got used to ISOs...I try not go use my camcorders over +6db gain

      That's true. Last month i combined my Z150's width a z190 rental. The 150 is much better in low light with almost zero noise. I think the z200 is the successor of the 150 when i'm looking at low light reviews.

      I’m debating buying the RX10 IV because the rumors are that production has stopped and there will be no successor. Did you have any info on a new version coming soon?

    • @predigr
      @predigr หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sony RX10 IV is not for frequent and long video capture and it is not as good as this one. Zoom is nice but not for live video since it is not smooth. It is a bit outdated too, the Z200 has much improved algorithms for clearing the image in long distances. It depends what you need but they are not "comparable".
