As the mantra goes, hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times. Never has there been a better time to be a mass murderer, a street criminal, a plotting terrorist, and so on, mainly because Leftward narratives, rhetoric, and policies give the truly malevolent more morale and spiritual leeway to wreak havoc on society, painting potential murderers as "victims of circumstance that the system created", when in REALITY, you simply have those who just plain want to murder people because they can, pure & simple. If the people don't have the means to defend themselves against such evil, that's when the people have truly lost, because the truly evil will always find a way to kill people. Politicians weren't supposed to make a lot of money because money corrupts everyone all the time. It was supposed to be a service to your country, a service to your community and then when you were done you go back to your life. Now we have career politicians who are only in politics to make money. All they care about is the next donation and the next election. Don't petition laws based on the neighborhood they're in knowing damn well that those laws won't affect them because they have their own private security and when they're done destroying the area that they govern, they just leave. And they shouldn't be able to have an AR. Try telling that to the Las Vegas strip shooter. He was what 60? Age doesn't matter. We need security at our schools. That's the thing. If government can have armed security. Then why is our kids not important enough to have security?

Never affected me or anyone I knew, only the gangsters involved and unfortunately the innocent folks caught in the crossfire. I just don't remember as many mass shootings going on in the country as compared to today. It's definitely worse in the U.S. these days. I left Los Angeles in 92 to live in Austin, Texas. Austin has boomed with massive growth and some growth in crime with the population, but the city has never had a gang problem or gang hoods. An uptick in violent crime after the pandemic, usually homicides involving people who know each other, but not the robberies and car jackings and shootings that have been occurring around Houston and Los Angeles. I still feel pretty safe here in a metro area of now more than 2.5 million people. Of course Austin was the city I remember as a kid in the 60s that had the first real mass shooting in America that happened from the U.T. tower on campus.

Yes, clearly we MUST ban assault vehicles all across the United States until we can eradicate all of the Motor Vehicle Violence deaths!
My friend, "violence" is "violence." The tool(s) used to exact that violence upon innocent citizens is irrelevant! So NO Laws that have been passed has worked and NONE will work going forward. At what point can we eliminate the laws that we already have that only work on honest people and not on anyone with criminal intentions? It is up to us to protect ourselves since ultimately no one can say who can & who cannot own a firearm for whatever reason. If we are to be a free people then we have to put the blame where it belongs, at the individual's feet that committed the crime and not on all of the other things like the gun, mental health, economic status, etc.

Owning a car is a right just as owning a house, a TV or a hummingbird feeder. One can buy a car without having a license to drive a car. I think that since traveling is a right so should driving be. There was no such thing as a license to ride a horse. Incidentally, we treat someone's driver's license more like a right than we do someone's right to own a gun. Driver's licenses are not revoked unless one is a proven danger to the community and even not always in those cases. I'm sure we've all seen a story about a drunk driver killing someone that had prior drunk driving incidents yet their license wasn't revoked.

Someone with a knife can kill many in a crowd, a car running through a crowd, they will use explosive's etc etc. The only thing eliminating guns 100% does is make us slaves to our government and much easier for foreign countries to invade.
If you don't think the fact that so many American's have guns isn't a deterrent to other countries think again. They not only face our military they face the American public. Which would obviously show that the shooter was capable of actual coherent conversation. FOX wants to spin the narrative that there are crazy people out there and everyone should carry guns. The other media outlets want to spin it that the crazy people should be prevented from obtaining guns. When someone is a hardcore anti-gunner, it tells me he/she has:
always lived in a safe neighborhood
never been the victim of a violent crime
always been able to afford personal transport, like a car or taxi (as opposed to having to ride a subway full of violent criminals at 3am)
lived somewhere with reasonable police response times
never had to conduct business in high crime neighborhoods
