If I had to guess who Knuckle's Nintendo Counterpart is I think it would be Sidon since they're both Red. And even though He can't control Water like Sidon. He does have a connection with a creature that does. And is made of it. So that's close enough. Though the Difference is that Link and Sidon don't have any type of Rivalry. Just true Friendship and Bromance.
