Where does the Lightweight Pro Plus fit chronologically. Can the Pro Plus take the newer non rubber belt? Thanks

You were probably thinking of the Platinum Pilot, that came after the regular Platinum, this has a fixed head and doesn't swivel.

The XL21 style of orecks are a much better cleaner the the original style.
