*As the Owl is wandering dreaming of eternal night, she discovers two grasshoppers. One is dying as the other is paying his respects. This is the first time the Owl experiences a loss or a tragedy such as this, and it changes her perspective watching the fiddler die*
I wish I could like this more than once. This whole album is phenomenal, and tells such a great story.

Great story great album great band
I thought it was an ant
song still gets me every time. came out in july of 2016 to buy. got the album and a month later i buried my best friend. listen to avatar a lot and when i finally got the balls to visit his grave this song came on the playlist. get a lump every time i hear it. great song guys. shit how everything went down but it will be in my top ten forever right after black water.

Agreed. I wouldn't just say it is my favorite album from Avatar, but easily one of the best albums I have ever heard. An easy S-tier I firmly believe non-metal heads can get plenty of enjoyment out of too.
My grandmother recently passed and this song always reminds me of her. It just embraces the feelings of mourning I have for her.
Read the lyrics- this doesn't have to just be the funeral song of an ant sung by a grasshopper. This can be a song for your own dearly departed. Beautiful- I salute you Avatar

Just found out about this band from a comment off FB. I'm glad I read the comments.
I remember hearing Queen of Blades back in who knows when. I think Avatar opened for megadeth many years ago? I listened to Black Waltz a bunch of times back in 2013 and liked some songs off it but I just recently started listening to them again. So far my favorite albums are Avatar, Avatar Country and Black Waltz

I found out about them a little over a year ago at the Taste of Madison Festival. I remember the guitarists and drummer came out first, and I thought that was the whole band, but then I saw Johannes goosetepping onto the stage looking like a psycho ass ringmaster mime in a fedora, just driving the crowd crazy. It's a wonder this band isn't a whole lot more famous than they are.
I found out about them in October when they toured with Trivium. Avatar is a kick ass band!
I literally just found them when Hunter Gatherer came out. Similar story and here I am friend!

Every time I’m done listening to an avatar song I have to catch my breath. They just write masterpiece after masterpiece. This is a great song and it’s one of my least favs by Avatar. That tells you how amazing their songs are. The ones I don’t like I still love. Lol

robert sikes well dethklok naturally. have you even SEEN their average kill count? by the time the smoke clears there won't be a battle of the bands.
I have to say avatar is a better band though. dethklok is pretty generic and I am a sucker for artists with unique concepts
