I think I understand. The padding is proportional to the scale. Let's say your logo was 100 px wide and you added 10 px of padding. the padding is 10% of the logo width. Then you export at 200 px and 300 px. The padding would no longer be exactly 10 px, but would still be 10% of the width of the original artwork. Also padding is applied before the final width. When you export, the width you set will include the padding.
