Own the Denon’s as well as Pioneers myself, it’s really a shame that most clubs still haven’t adapted to Denon yet. This is generations ahead of the CDJs in all areas including quality and at a far better price point.

Played on both. I actually have owned both flagships .denon is fully packed with features but Pioneer has that market share . If you play clubs on want to play clubs pioneer is the way to go. Denon feels like prosumer. They need to take the fight to pioneer with something worthy and a worthy 4 and 6 channel proper high end mixer. Just make something that will cost and be worth $2499 . If its good it will sell. Trust me

It will never happen mostly because inMusic has so many other companies and products they can leave Pioneer to their relatively niche overall market share. An LC6000m would have been the supreme solution. Instead inMusic gave that to the Rane 12 and shot themselves in the foot. As well, I agree, they needed a superior mixer. Maybe a 6 channel 2 bus/zone option. Lesson to be learned kids; as much as it is about having a superior product it is also about creating a toolbox of products that work together to be greater than the sum of their parts.
BTW: I run an FLX-10 (Rekordbox) with an SC6000m and love it; a brilliant solution that hits all the bases for me.

Thanks everyone, as I said I’m totally (well, not now) unfamiliar with the vast majority of Denon products and this video was pretty much not even scripted- these products have to much to offer and blew me away, even to a vinyl/dvs guy like me. one of the most common cons i hear of Denon players is that the build quality and overall durability is severely lacking compared to Pioneer's CDJs. I can't attest to any of that firsthand since i have yet to touch either of the two. If that's true though, then if Denon can work on that, they could maybe have a chance to be as common as CDJs

it's purely an attrition thing. all the clubs have pioneer in them because that was what was best when they bought gear. That fact has caused pioneer to be 'industry standard' everywhere. Club owners are not interested in what the lastest gear can do or how good it is. They are interested in what can they buy that will serve the most people and last longest without spending more money. That is assuming the club is even looking to buy. they are not keeping up with trends or looking to upgrade every two years, management will wait for their techs or DJ's to tell them artists are starting to ask for 3000s now and will eventually begrudgingly buy them once they have had to hire them one too many times.
The fact that pioneer IS in all the clubs means that gigging club DJ's are already forced to be in that ecosystem and will want to use that. its self perpetuating at this point. The only way I could see denon getting in the door would be to send all major and mid level clubs a set of 6000s.

  • @kennethmalafy503
    @kennethmalafy503 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The only thing wih that set up is: If you use the Serato mixer- you still need the laptop. If you have to use a laptop- you can just use a controller to do most of that stuff and it will be: much cheaper and easier to transport.
You can use the same set up with the Denon mixer (or the higher level mixers, Pioneer 900 nx2, Pioneer v10 or A and H Xone 96) and not have to use a laptop.
I have the Prime Four and I use the LC 6000 as a third/ layer deck with it. I find the Denon stuff is a slight step below the sound quality of the good pioneer mixers. I really don't think most would notice it but if you are at a festival on a loud system- it will be. I find the A and H to have to best sound quality, but not by much. That Xone 96 mixer is an insane beast, especially if you have an Eventide H9 Max on the send/ returns.

Every club should have at least 2 of these. Every DJ can use it, from DJs who use turntable DVS, CDJ, Controller, etc. I don't like the idea of industry standard with CDJ, because if you're looking into a musician or band perspective, not all musician want to play with the same guitar, bass or drum. They have their own taste and their own way to do it. Same for DJs....

In that case isn't it just like any old deck? So I imagine it must work in stand alone too. Secondly, if you're searching for a track on Tidal or your hard disk/usb is there a way to type in text or is it scroll only? Thanks in advance

The question is "Why isn't the Denon DJ system not in all clubs?" You would have to ask the DJs who use only turntables and Pioneer products why they won't switch to Denon. I have experienced an old version of Denon mixer and was confused. That was the case because 1. I never use Denon products and 2. I learned to DJ with only Pioneer. Both sides would like to say their product is better than the other. I would say the product is on most major DJ riders are Pioneer. When I play on the Pioneer DJ system for the first time (via the CDJ 2000 Nexus2 and 900 Nexus mixer) it was scary because I learned from controllers only. Once I start playing, I felt at home. I haven't had the opportunity to play the CDJ 3000 yet but I am looking forward to doing so. As far as innovation and price point I can see why DJs nowadays are turning towards Denon. The SC6000 and the LC6000 are game-changers. If you buy one of each with a mixer, you will spend far less than the Nexus system. For Denon to have more of the system in clubs, venues and festivals they would have to really convince the big-name DJs to choose their products over Pioneer. Good luck!!

      And thats how it is.

Example: look at the PIONEER DJ DDJ RZ/SZ/SZ2. its great and beautiful controller but could you image it with CDJ's/1000/1000SRT jog-wheel (pressure sensitive) instead of a touch sensitive jog-wheel and also look at the DJ DDJ 1000/1000SRT can you imagine it with all the looping/effect section just like the RZ/SZ/SZ2 instead of having to use two (2) hands to loop a song? I purchased a pair of LC6000 from GC and was disappointed. I really was hoping to use them every week to replace my Pioneer SRT1000. I was tired of using a small controller. To my dismay, the platter tension just too heavy. even on their lightest setting, theyre very heavy.
do they work well with serato, yes.
do they have an amazing layout, yes.
they weigh nearly nothing, which is super dope.
IMO, just too far from the SRT or CDJ platter feel. I really wanted them to be amazing but they werent. But hey, I move through so many different genres in a night and do a hip-hop style mix. LC6000s might be a great alternative to the high prices of CDJs for dance djs.

They're fine if you still play in vinyl mode or clutter your tracks with hot cues. I don't. Got the Prime 4 and to me it was a brick, utterly useless. Probably too old for this stuff. I don't, and will never use streaming services. I do a lot of gigs on 12-24 h party cruisers. As soon as they leave for the open sea, bye bye streaming... I'll keep using my USB devices. Also, I prefer to have the freedom to set the cue point I need on the fly, and for that I need the old standard CDJ mode. It doesn't exist on the new Denon line up. I have asked Denon why, but they don't have an answer, still, years later. Nore can you set memory cue's, which is a bummer if that is part of your work flow. There's a number of other little reasons, in particular for the all-in-one systems that are just wrong, that the total impression for many of us pro DJs is ''nah this shit ain't working''. I've said it since the new Denons arrived, also in person to the Denon developers, that until they get those little things fixed, they are not getting in to the booths as the primary gear setup. The Denon workflow and new features impress only the controller DJ's, as for them it's all familiar. I still play the occasional vinyl gig, and then I love the way vinyl works and sounds. On digital, I need the digital features I'm used to. The M versions I leave out of my rant, because they are for a complete different kind of use where the stuff I mentioned won't matter. I'm stuck with the competition, and I blame Denon for that. They could easily fix both the CDJ mode and add memory cues to the features, and in the process add a lot of potential buyers. It's a huge question mark that they don't. I'd rather use CD's, than a pair of SC6000's, just too keep my workflow intact as much as possible. I love the huge screens on new devices, but they are not essential for me to play. I still play by ear, not by the visuals. Every time I comment on this I get the boohs from the fan boys n girls, but so far I'm the one who got it right. Still no Denons in the booths. Fix this now Denon, could be done with a single update.
