Thank you, gentlemen, for a wonderful and thoughtful discussion, commensurate with the spirit of Test Cricket and how it should be played. I have read millions of words from your columns combined before and since I moved from Melbourne to California in 1991, and I feel a true privilege to like, listen and subscribe to your channel. There is no better cricket podcast on the internet, bar none. Thank you for the analysis. Incidentally, I could see the series tied 1-1 going to Boxing Day. A massive crowd could be in the offing. Respect and love to India, but go, Aussies!
Absolutely love the relaxed but high class discussions...really shows the experience how you guys analyse the game...lots of love and respect from india!!😊😊😊❤❤❤
Thank you Gideon and Peter for this. Cricket needed a voice like this on TH-cam. Based on the three shows I have watched from your land ( TFW, TGC and now CEL ) the word ‘Cricket Tragic’ applies most to Australian cricket followers. I know we are all Cricket tragics but the way melancholy and a sense of hopeless romance towards the game is interspersed in between analysis, critique and humour, there is nothing like it in the other cricketing nations. And it has to do with what the game has meant historically to your nation and how it seams its way through your cultural reality. And how that connection is different in each of our nations but what you have is so beautifully symbolic of national identity that is unique and so deeply Australian. Thank you for your voice, thank you for your writing and thank you to the universe for this thing called Cricket
KL Rahul’s best series was in England in 2021, when just like thi series he was in the squad as the backup middle order batter but ended up opening because of a freak run of unavailability. Is KL Rahul a secret hitman?
Love the new show. Would it be able to address what it seems like people really don't like talking about that Nathan Lyon although has the amount of wickets he does just doesn't change games when Australia needs him.

Perfect batting display. Pertinent to mention that Starc lead the way. Imagine India fought back yesterday and scored 250. Good for them, they bundled early😊
This might be the worst Australian batting lineup I can recall in over 50 years of watching. I think we've got to the point with Smith and Labuschagne where dropping them and promoting a couple of young prospects won't cost us anything, such is their sustained lack of form and ages.
This is a 5 match series, should decide what to do after it gets over. And this is worst indian batting in like 25 years also, coz of too much white ball, test batting is suffering.
High class discussion. Just wanted to add that, the names Gideon mentioned whom Jaiswal had to overtake have another addition worth mentioning: Abhimanyu Easwaran, red ball specialist, he has scored 7000 runs at 50 in FC cricket, has smashed tons in all sorts of FC competitions lately (would walk into literally any Test team at the moment); has been a part of the India Test squad a few times but for some reason, the management never puts trust in him. The bloke never gets mentioned or hyped, presumably because he doesn't have an IPL contract! Kudos to Rahul, he was brilliant but Easwaran was supposed to be a backup opener in absence of Rohit.
@@Bhushan_99 I agree. But isn't it unfair on him on basis of two games on very difficult surfaces on his first exposure to the Australian conditions? Rahul also did terribly in two inns he played in the 'A' game. If you were not confident with him for these conditions, why pick him in the squad in the first place? Rahul by the way was picked as a backup middle order batter (again, I was happy to see him do well at the top, he has been all class in this Test match). Nothing against Padikkal as well, but he wasn't even a part of the original squad. He played one good inns out of four in 'A' games, yes. But when you pick certain players, you back them.
@@jegadishmathias7903 KL is good, plays some stunning good inns at times and then nothing in between which divides people over his selection in the side time and time again (his average of 34 across 56 Tests as a top order batter is of course not what you expect from someone with such sound game).
Hey Gideon I am fan of your writings and would always love to hear your insights on cricket. A big fan...!! My question to you is " Why the most Blunderous and controversial on field decisions gets part in BGT in Australia against India.. Till now I have lost the count from sachins lbw on helmet, anil kumbles cought and bowl of Gilchrist, ricky pontings catch to KL Rahuls caught behind? Is their any sort austrailianess in it? I wish if aussies cares about spirit of game?
Grow up angu one way or another u too seem to be racist often that is the conclusion...people like you should be given proper counseling before even giving u an authority to comment.
People must understand this. if you take out Jaiswal this indian team is bad. One good batsman india is leveraging Jaiswal to fullest Aussies are got beat by that YOUNG STALLION
Pant and Jadeja also score consistently. Now KL is also scoring. Gill is not that consistent but he still scores a few good knocks. It's only Rohit and Kohli who are wasting 2 spots in the team at the moment. The only difference between them and Rahane/Pujara is they didn't get more support from the management.

Pure cricket discussion. Respect for the game. No foul language. Very good show. This is the first video I am watching and I just subscribed.

I dont think there will be any chopping changing in the current WTC cycle.
Great analysis
We are going to watch another Body Line Tomorrow

And he would be in the team instead of DDP, but his performance in the India A games in AUS was very bad.
We all have short memories. Do people remember what KL did in our last overseas tour? Against SA.
Or his scores in England
@@jegadishmathias7903 I am not defending KL.
