Sandler and Young sold millions of records, countless guest appearances on popular music shows and had a huge fan base. Tony Sandler performed for 60 years. It was a clean act with good entertainment. Tony is now 89 years old and enjoys a devoted following still though not performing. He speaks and sings in five languages. Both men treated their fans with class and style. All appearances I saw were well attended with enthusiastic applause.

They sang "Ladies of the Night," "Will You Respect Me in the Morning," "I'll be Pleasuring You Tonight," "She Needs It," "She's Hurting for a Squirting," "Honey Buns," "Coming Home," "She Does It," "Sinking My Bone," "Gusher in Her Gash," "Sleeping With Sally," "Take All of My Load," "Stroke Me Gently," and "A Handful of Love." Sandler and Young, I never could understand why they existed. They'd do the talk show and variety show circuits, I guess they did shows in Vegas, but I could never figure out who on earth enjoyed watching them. This was a great portrayal of them. One of the quirky things about SCTV is that they would go to the trouble to do a sendup of a marginal act like Sandler and Young.

@filmnoir47 Agree 10,000%!! SCTV was silly fun for intelligent people, as opposed to SNL which is just plain silly and never has been consistently funny. I LOVED the Sammy Maudlin show and this skit is beyond hilarious!!
And yes...R.I.P. John Candy (AKA William B. , Johnny LaRue and other greats!!)

Maudlin: ''Why don't you just leave?'' Young; ''We get that all the time.'' Brilliant.
I'm old enough to have seen the real Sandler and Young on the Sullivan show numerous times. They were incredibly bland and boring and I never understood why Ed booked them. Maybe they appealed to old folks. Ed tried to please everyone.

I'll bet they based their Sandler and Young Impression off of the Ed Sullivan appearance: Sandler & Young "Put On A Happy Face, The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy), Frère & more"

I could never understand why Ed Sullivan had Sandler and Young on his show all the time. Even as a kid I knew they were awful.
