I don't usually comment on YT videos but just want to drop a kudos to you both. I like your travel videos for being genuine and authentic and not feeling like some clickbait cliffnotes of a travelogue. Would love to bring you around other non touristy sites next time you are here, with places like Mustaffa Center, Geylang Serai food center, East Coast park and the Admiralty Park Nature Reserve.

in your Kusu island portion, in the drone shot at 56:38 , you can see that the solar panels are arranged in the shape of turtles.
This is because Kusu is the island of turtles, and many were pets who outgrew their home tanks or rescues released here at the big ponds in and near the temple.
It was seen as a good and luck-bringing deed in the earlier days :)
(ok strictly speaking they are terrapins, and actually a common breed here is the American Red Ear Slider lol )

What a wonderful video. Really good to see that you guys have explored the beautiful greenery areas in Singapore. The Orchid Garden is my favorite to watch.

Perhaps you guys can come up with a video from your nature experience in Malaysia. In KL alone, there are the Botanical Garden, Taman Tugu, the Eco Canopy Walk, Lake Titiwangsa and my favorite, KLCC garden. And there are many national parks around Malaysia. Langkawi is the first UNESCO geopark in Southeast Asia, the 52nd in the world. Langkawi has a sandstone rock formation aged 550 millions years old and a granite pebble dropstone aged one billion years old dated from the supercontinent. Sabah, is one of the only three locations in the world that each has a triple UNESCO geopark.

The caramel nutty toasty smell?, could it be the Screwpine? Or Pandan leaves as we call it in Singapore, it grows along the roadsides, in parks, in the gardens of our housing estates. In your video there are loads of it near where you said you smelled it. You must crush the leaves to make it smell.

you guys can't get enough of us, can you? I'm glad you're back, and showing sides of Singapore that tourists don't usually go to or explore. We are more than Marina Bay or Sentosa, or even Chinatown and Little India. And at least you saw a Merlion this time round! I'm a local and I can't even tolerate the humidity sometimes. Kudos for getting through the best parts of the Southern Ridges.

Chlorine smell near Henderson bridge comes from the nearby Safra club Mount Faber's swimming pool. It is a club for Singaporeans who did their National Service in the army & their families. It is our government's effort to build more country clubs for all and not just the rich & famous.

SG weather is simply hot and humid. I will always pack and bring along clean dry clothes in ziplock bags to change into right after my hike, a pack of wet body wipes and deodorant 😂 if I am heading to the mall for food after.😂. Welcome back. Hope u have luck to spot wild otters.

    Glorious,
Walking Singapore's nature trails is a total joy best experienced as the sun rises. Even better, having a Hawker Centre just off the trail every 10 or 15 minutes can't be beaten.
A small tip for enjoying the trails of Lion Town. Take an umbrella!
