    I don't understand why everybody's angry. Filmmakers take one victim of a famous tragedy and focus on them all the time. It shows how the tragedy affected people on a personal level. Nobody was angry about Titanic and claimed that it was morally wrong of them to focus on two (also fictional) characters and not the others.

    • @averyknowling7593
      @averyknowling7593 7 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      monkiram it's because the event isnt hundreds of years old. This is recent. We know their names, their faces were on our news stations. That's why we're mad. Because the others are being forgotten while shes made a martyr.

      They used her death to earn a quick buck and to spread their beliefs. Not to mention that pureflix sucks at making movies as a whole. “I should have burned this place down when I had the chance.” - Michael G Scott

    • @lialove1751

      Because they portrayed the story wrong, maybe they should do an interview with columbine survivors to know Dylan and Eric were not bullied, like everyone was teased in high school they just took it the wrong way, and also use Columbine not some other school and say who died and the drawing and her visions.

    • @Gemnist98
      @Gemnist98 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Because they portray it wrong to force their agenda. Rachel Scott was not killed for believing in God. Neither was Cassie Bernall. The girl who was asked if she believed in God was Valeen Schnurr, who was shot BEFORE she was asked the question, had it asked by Klebold instead of Harris, and instead of getting martyred was just told “God is gay” and then went on to (thankfully) live. Even Rachel’s own brother Craig has stated this was the case. Also, Rachel had minimal Association with either of the two shooters; the closest was when she had trouble in the audio room one day and the student in charge (Klebold) ended up helping her. ALSO, even if it was Harris who killed her, it was with the carbine, not the TEC-9, and she died the instant the first bullet struck her chest.

      E115, and that's the problem right there. It's all about "YOU" and what YOU want, and what YOU feel and what YOU feel like doing about it. 'A haughty spirit comes before a fall, Pride comes before destruction and abomination before desolation.' That's exactly why You and me and we, all need Jesus. He was the only one who didn't walk in that mindset. He came not to judge but serve and not even to do His will & what He did, He did for all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, age, etc..... He came to set all free from that very mindset....eternally. Be free and You'll never feel bothered again.

      Wow, here you are again, Jim Jim - you call yourself a Christian, you say you've found spiritual meaning, and yet here you are, spewing black tar out of a soul that is obviously filled with hatred and darkness. You seethe with your judgement of other's flaws, and yet never pause to examine your own. Do you not remember the verse about pointing out the speck in another man's eye whilst there is a plank in your own? It would seem that, as an agnostic, I am a better Christian than you are, if we go by Christ's teachings, which I actually know. When my beliefs are challenged, I do not lash out with hate and swearing like you do, I speak in logic and love. Meanwhile, this comments section is littered with responses from you which basically are "I AM WAYY MORE COMPASSIONATE THAN YOU ARE! I AM TOTALLY SPIRITUALLY FULFILLED AND HAPPY, FUCKING GAY ASSHOLE! ONLY CHRISTIANS ARE NICE AND MORAL, FUCK YOU!!" ... Do you realize how much of a hypocrite you are? You are a pharisee, what Jesus hated - you wreak of the pious, corrupt religiosity of someone who clings to a judgmental spirit, and who holds onto religion not for the sake of personal faith, but for the feeling that you are better than others. Jesus looked on the pharisees with disgust - he threw them out of the temple, proclaimed them false, then walked with the beggars and the prostitutes, his true friends. If he were around today he would be fighting for gay people, putting his arm around their shoulders while rebuking the cruelty and hatred of those that use their religion so they can proclaim their hate against people who have done them no wrong.
      Once again Jim Jim, you need to do some serious self examination. study the bible - if you're going to devote your life believing in something, you should understand its concepts of love and acceptance of others. The New Testament is fundamentally about the ideas of grace and free will. Learn to get some grace of your own, to respond to others as Christ would, then maybe you'll be a true Christian. right now you're a sham, someone who spews hate out of one side of your mouth while out of the other side saying how much better you are and how much more compassionate you are - you are the reason atheists hate christians so much - so many 'christians' are hypocrites, and atheists see that when they get comments like yours in response, rather than something filled with kindness.
      You want people to respect your faith? Actually start demonstrating that YOU respect it, that you truly follow it in your day to day life, and you will get some respect. Until then, you're just a Sunday Judgement christian, like so many other pharisees.

    I honestly don't understand why so many people are hating on this movie.
    It's true, what happened at Columbine was a tragedy. Thirteen lives were lost.
    However, this movie isn't about the Columbine shooting.
    It's about Rachel Joy Scott - HER story that's based off the actual journal entries that SHE wrote.
    She just so happened to attend Columbine and was (unfortunately) murdered on that tragic day.
    In the end, this movie was meant to revolve around Rachel, her faith, and her life - not the school that she attended.

    I live in Colorado probably about 10 miles from Columbine, and let me tell you something. The propaganda comments, I get it. However, she was a Christian and it impacted her life greatly, as well as those around her. I'm Christian, and I get it. There's a picture of the hill by Columbine after the shooting, and it has a cross for each person who was killed, Christian or not. It was Christians showing their support, but that memorial got taken down because it was public school property, and you can't support any one religion in public schools. Being Christian did in fact impact another victim inside the library, Cassie. Everyone supported each other one way or another. They weren't trying to force their Christianity on people, they were showing they were praying for them. This also isn't a movie about the actual shooting, it's about her life and impact leading up to it. It's showing how her faith impacted her and those around her. Yes, it's a Christian movie. Yes, it does support her for her beliefs. No, it's not telling you you have to be Christian.

I’m planning on writing a song about all this, It May be called, “We’re Not Ashamed”. They can shoot me in my head, or even hang me by a thread, I’m living for God. Bless you all!

      lying still wouldn't have done anything you know why? Because they never asked her about her faith. She was shot twice, a boy named Richard, who was shot with her said that he heard crying then it stopped. She didn't speak to them and they didn't speak to her. She died almost instantly.
      You know what would have saved her? Going to the smokers pit. She used to smoke, but a couple months before the shooting she quit. But at the time the shooting started if she had not quit she would have been in the smokers pit instead of in front of the school eating lunch.

The killers walk up to the students and ask "do you believe in got?" No one says anything. Until the girl stood up and says yes I do. And then is killed. And The killers move on killing others while sparing some. A girl who was there said they didn't ask that question at all and the killers were just mindlessly killing whomever they wanted. I don't have a problem with the focus on a Christian character. That's fine. And if she truly was a devout Christian, that part of her life should be included. I think you people are too oblivious of how ridiculous you are. And you don't realize that the biggest victims of your racism are you and your own race.
      If this was a black girl preaching Christianity nobody would say anything. But just because it was a white girl believing, truly, in God and getting over something _so tragic_, but nobody wants to understand at all. This movie shows her inner monologue, how she got over something so tragic by believing in God. My sister got over the death of my father by praying to Allah.
      It is a story, not an advertisement for Christianity. Get over your cynical criticism to everything that is familiar to you. Christianity is just as equal to Judaism to Islam to Hinduism, etc. It is a religion, and you will fucking respect it whether you like it or not.
      SHAME ON YOU. __|__

    • @Samalama724
      @Samalama724 8 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      Actually, she didn't "get over" the shooting. Rather she was the first person killed. And I had heard growing up that before they shot her with the fatal shot they asked her if she believed in God, and she said yes and then they shot her. So I always grew up hearing about her story that way because God was a big part of her life. And she kept like really detailed journals, so I think that it's easy to focus on her story specifically since we have such a look into her head. If you wanna see a movie about the shooting that doesn't focus on her and God, I'm sure there is something or at least a documentary of some kind. But I don't see why it's bad to tell her story the way that it was. She was a Christian. It's not like making stuff up to push some kinda Christian agenda. Listen, I know that there are some really hateful Christians out there, and there are also ones that are too pushy and try to force people to believe in God, but I don't think that's what this movie is. I am a Christian, and we are not all like that. And as a Christian, I can watch movies about people of other religions where the religion is a focus in the movie because it's a big part of that person's life. I can watch those and not get offended, so I think you can too. But if you don't like it, you can also leave.

    Todo lo que hizo Rachel por su amor aJesus y a sus amigos quedara por siempre como un gran ejemplo para todos nosotros como cristianos. Es verdad que el camino que nos lleva a la vida eterna es angosto y aveces sentimos que nuestro esfuerzo es en vano pero realmente no es así. Cada vez que estamos sembrando amor compasión y misericordia en alguien estamos dejando huella en los corazones de la gente y esto es lo que Jesús quiere que hagamos. Por esta razón Rachel siempre sera recordada por su amor a Dios y a las personas que lo necesitaron a su alrededor.

They perpetuate the long-since debunked martyr myth based on the FBI and sheriff's departments official investigations. No one is bashing this girl's beliefs. We're bashing Pure Flix for perpetuating a lie to promote their religion. If this was about a girl with a different religion, you would probably see my point more easily.

      Safiya S Actually, you're wrong. Atheism is about not believing in a *God*, more specifically as a creator. Never met anyone as aggressively in-your-face and bigoted about their religious beliefs (or lack of them) as atheists... just my experience though :)

      Right. The best way to sell a lie is to sandwich it with some truth. I agree that her life story told through her journals is a good story. However, Adding on the false story that she is somehow a martyr, like in the book this movie is based on, is downright evil. The "I am not ashamed" part is referring to this false dialogue that she was questioned about her faith before she died. The largest theme is about her martyrdom. Why does a religion need to lie to get some converts? Seems suspicious...

      No you're wrong. Rachel Scott did what she could for the people she loves. She is a Saint in God's eyes. All the world needs is love, no violence, no hate. I'm doing what's right so that Love and Compassion can heal all in Jesus's name. I will not argue with you because being agressive is not who I am inside. I am more than what I have become.

    Wow the amount of people hating and completely missing the point of the story in first place is saddening....yes they focused on one girl and it's been done before... People see Christianity and all of a sudden start attacking...and before you say Christians aren't perfect.. We know that.. It's a process... The girl said being a Christian made her want to do better in the world and be kinder and that's what she did... I bet if she hadn't mentioned being Christian people wouldn't have such a big problem...believe it or not no one is trying to attack you with the movie watch it or don't watch it but if you don't watch it keep your hateful comments to yourself

    WHEN
    you pass through the waters,
    I will be with you;
    and when you pass through the rivers,
    they will not sweep over you.
    When you walk through the fire,
    you will not be burned;
    the flames will not set you ablaze.

      It’s actually confirmed that this didn’t happen..the killers shot up the school w/ no regards to who and who wasn’t a Christian..this is a propaganda piece and it’s a shame what lengths people go through to push agendas down your throat and will use a dead girl to do it
