Do your cooking outside the van! We rarely use our cooker in our van and instead use a campingaz portable stove that takes the aerosol style cartridges and it's brilliant. Given the price of the full size campingaz bottles we even use the portable one in the van.

You are 100% correct, using camper in Spain is so easy, free parking everywhere, big bins, all beaches has shower, toilet etc... Went to Waterford last week, all parking has height restriction, no public toilet or shower anywhere. Getting a parking space for a camper in Ireland is like winning a lotto.
It's such a shame isn't it!! I don't know why Ireland is like that :( campervans bring in so much to the country. They shoukd really look at Europe 🇪🇺
Getting the bus! Why didn't we think of that? We gave up 2/3rds of the way up in our 20 year old underpowered van. The benefit was that we had a beautiful walk all on our own through the mountains and we're befriended by the only farmer to actually live up there still with his wife and dogs. Told us he burns out 3 clutches a year going up and down the mountain. Great video guys.
The bus up and down is so handy!! Only 10euro return.. cheaper than a clutch haha

Mozzies are such a pain. We use a Vango Midge 180 in our van and it seems to work well. It’s a rechargeable camping light which also has an in build blue light to attract and fry the mozzies. Costs between £15-20. Worth a try if you can get hold of one. Really enjoying your videos. 🥰
Mozzies are a nightmare!! We use the flextail and it's a great job but that ONE night we didn't turn it on in time they absolutely invade the van 😭😭

Just like to say hello from Indiana USA..from a former 1982 VW westfalia my wife and I purchased new and traveled Canada and across the entire US .we have lots of great memories with of course it’s pesky issues along the way.as you demonstrated in your videos. FYI - mosquitos are very active during certain times in the morning and evening. You must keep all windows and doors shut during these periods which are usually humid times of day. Also keep a look out when near areas of water ie ponds, lakes, rivers.
We only ever really noticed them in the evenings. I think our problem was when we parked we had 2 drains either side of us with stagnant water and that's possibly where they came from 😭😭

Spray the van before you settle for the night with insect spray ....shut doors give it half hour then be sorted for the night ...Mercadona sell a spray in a orange spray bottle works well

@stephenhornigold3993 yeah it's very loud. It's some alarm Ane got on Amazon. Each door has an alarm that makes contact when closed so when you open it breaks the circuit and goes off. I'll try to find the link

How long is the flextail shower - could you stand up and shower with it? Is it USB rechargeable? Are you affiliated?
Ane is slowly turning fully Irish - getting sunburnt, complaining about the sun and what did she say after the comment about the swimming pool? It was a real Irish brogue 😂
I thought the flextail fan was anti mosquito? Is it ineffective? Did you have the other flextail repeller running too?
Where did you get the mosquito net - it looks spot on size wise?
Shouldn’t you be lifting Ane to get the solar off the roof, not the other way around? Is she stronger than she looks?
We watched this as we ate tea, seeing Shane’s pants drying was a bit off putting….
How’s the fridge coping? Did you add extra extractor fans in the cupboard?

We were gone from 10am to 6pm so if they stole Fergus they probably would have got 2km max 🤣🤣
The Hose on the shower is probably 2 metres so would have no trouble standing up. Charging by USB C. No affiliate they just gifted us them to test and review and gave us a discount for our followers to use but we don't get anything from it :) Uk creators can through tiktok etc but we're not interested in any affiliate:)
Ane is Irish now haha she said Holy Jaysus would you like at that there the sea is as rough as anything 🤣🤣🤣
The Flextail is a mosquito repellent but the problem is we didn't have it on. We landed to the coast and just jumped out to catch sunset and came back to the van and never even thought of mosquitos until the started attacking and then we had the flextail on.
We then turned it on and didn't have any after that.
Ane got the net on Amazon.

Another question- we get the ferry into Bilbao on the 1st Sept snd was reading that you need proof of your first night accommodation for your camper - Is this the case?
Hey nope that's not true we've never needed any of that. We've never had accommodation haha we just wild camp :)

@@ShaneandAneVanLife It's possible I didn't get it...that you've eaten something Spanish or Basque...and it's not a big surprise that it's hot in July and August. At least it is here further south. Mosquitoes..there aren't many of them until you chew them..Norway and Sweden...: ) And..yes I have a campervan that I use here and take a trip up to Trondheim once or twice a year. Enjoy!
