A bit of the A-body magic is that the torsion bars kinda make things... I guess the word is supple, when other setups might be real stiff or bouncy to do the same jobs. A bit of adjustment and some gas shocks and nice tires, you can make em corner real well, or kinda do that drag race thing and you can feel even a stock slant's torque make the weight shift. (I put in heavier ones for my purposes but somewhere in Massachusetts my slant torsion bars might still be tucked in a corner of an old landlord's garage. :) )
I never thought I'd see the the day that I "appreciated" a slant, but Uncle Tony has performed a miracle, and I can't wait to see Plan-Z hit the track!
I have twins in my life. Both 68 Dart, both Cali Built, model 270, hers is still Slant6 and mine has been 318 for 7 Year's.. one thing about daily driving a Slant6 . You have time to consider how fast your attempting to go . My 318 really likes 75mph to 90mph cruising.. stock gears etc.. and I've had her to 115mph.. I couldn't imagine a Truck with a Slant6.. like a Pony just trying it's best.. haha peace .. Mopar or Nothing
Not much if any weight transfer, it’s tied down. Also way to much air in the tires, the tracks are maybe 1/4 the width of the tire. The Sure Grip is not holding strong, switching back n forth.
I’ve been reading all these he comments to see if anybody else picked up on the suregrip situation, I don’t remember what’s in it, but I’m pretty sure he stuck with the 7 1/4 for lightness. Pretty difficult to find a 4 pinion suregrip these days, unless he already had one in his parts stash.
Is it my rachety computer or was the right wheel on the first burnout slipping? I've watched it a few times and each time it looks like the wheel stops spinning a couple of times before he takes off.
SLANT SICKNESS! I LOVE IT. Gotta soft spot for the 225 ever since my 77 Volare Super 6 complete with the hanging glow in the dark skull on the rear view mirror and “BODY IN TRUNK” rear bumper sticker
this will piss off alot of folks, but when you take a in line 4 or 6 and manage to find a four barrel manifold use a spacer to increase plenum volume ,it works. I ran a Offy 4 barrel split port manifold on a Lima engine, which requires that the primary two barrels face the valve cover. I would still like to see what happens when that carb has the primaries facing the valve cover on the in line 6, may do nothing, but you never know, plus you gotta change the throttle linkage
Glad to see you added that open spacer. It's providing a bunch more plenum for each port to draw from with a more balanced A/F ratio. Now....let's work on getting the converter and rear suspension to hook like a shark bite.
This 225 slant six sounds like a small block V-8. Awesome mean sound. I love the label you put on the water bottle MOPAR Al was using… “Mary’s Man Cream Pimp Juice”. LOL 😂
nice car , good sound no fault on that trible twin sidedraft 45mm webers/dellortos and a intake manifold/s that will support that setup , then it will really fly on the strip :) making the intake ''mix'' turn 90 degrees into the manifold before turning another 90 degrees in the head dosen't do it any favors and the engine gets better distribution for each cylinder with the trible setup but hey i don't have a car like that so just saying it as i see it
Man, for such a, lets face it, low powered engine that machine really gets the hell off the line. I am seriously impressed, having owned a couple of slant six powered vehicles in my day. I think I need to go look over all the build videos and see what you did.
I had and loved a 1969 VF Australian Valiant with a 225ci Leaning tower of power 2BBL and she beat my friends 253ci V8 Holden ( GM ) with ease , another friends 350ci Ford Galaxy again with ease , easy the Torana's 186 and 202 ci GTR's ( My 1971 Chrysler Valiant RT E37 265 Hemi was the one to eat the XU1's ) , yes the 225 Slant is an awesome engine and thanks Uncle Tony for staying true Brother .
DAMN!!! That is a sweet sounding Slanty. Mines sitting in front of the car (Valiant) waiting to go in. I hope it sounds half that good with a street exhaust. YOU DONE GOOD UNCLE TONY!
@Yippee Skippy that's funny. When I would run at Fontana before they closed it all of my friends that run their sportsters there could not run with me even with more power. Old George would always tell them, we will never beat him because he runs 1/8 mile regularly. Gotta have your Shit together and make no mistakes because there's only 660 feet. I really do like running 1320 though. One more shift and higher trap speed is seriously more fun.
Uncle Tony with two cars running at all at the track would be an oddity of epic proportions. Generally he shows up with major problems and can't make one clean pass. Racing is tough huh???
let there be slant six!,that sound is amazing, remember me to the golden era for dodge winning a lot of championships racing here in argentina in the 80s,literally destroying fords and chevys.
Wow Tony, looks good , better than any inline 6 that I've ever owned. (that would be: in order: a '68Pontiac firebird OHC, '53 3/4 T chevy P/UP, '66 Chevy1/2 T p/up).
What a cool car! You look at it and expect that typical V8 rumble, but instead it sounds like this insane mechanical tornado banging around under the hood. Can't wait to see it make it down the track.
so, when you snugged down the oil pan bolts, you went around the perimeter of the crankcase rather than going opposite or X like you would a head gasket, and that's why the passenger side bolts weren't snug leading to a leak?
Looks and sounds solid. Better to oil down the parking lot than the track.👍
I LOVE the sound of a slant six winding up like that! Now I'm missing mine again...
Happy to see plan Z back together, looks like she launches pretty good.
Great to see Plan Z ripping again! Thanks for sharing and loved the "product placement" on the water jug!
I just love the the buzzsaw sound of an inline 6. It's as good as a V8 rumble, just in a different way.
No, no it’s not lol. Definitely sounds, uh, different, but no where near as good as a big block V8 let’s be realistic
Got both love them to death
Well, it beats the heck out of the sound of a 4 cylinder rice burner with a fart muffler on it
Yeah, it sounds good and mean!
@@toddr3093 opinions are like assholes
It’s actually "loading" the springs... I’m mildly impressed.
Not easy with weed whacker power!

I love a six that wears out slicks!
lol Wears uot slicks? That thing will barley eve spin regular set of tires LMAO
this reminds me of a friday afternoon during my apprenticeship, the good old days
I never thought I'd see the the day that I "appreciated" a slant, but Uncle Tony has performed a miracle, and I can't wait to see Plan-Z hit the track!

this car is the reason I subscribed to this channel
Tony, beautiful car! One of my favorite things to see is a "tuned" suspension. These are the guys that really know what's going on.
Tony better get that 318 To be all It can be, Andy aint playing And Casper will Blow your doors off.
Sounds real healthy. It launches nicely & straight. Well done guys😊
Painful man itch was probably why you missed those bolts. It happens all the time.
Sounds awesome and it launched like a ball of fire! Big gains for sure. Great job!

Love that hot water six looks like it's going to run good.
It’s nice having Al around
It sounds healthy! I can't wait to see how it runs...
I'm happy to see it running again!
Great to see the leaning tower of power burning rubber 🇺🇸🏁
Two very happy mechanics in this video
That Slant 6 has some get me up and go. Leaning tower off Power.👍
Gotta start marking the nuts and bolts after you tighten and torque them. You know yer getting fergetful😆
Sounds like a souped-up farm tractor bro!
Is it my rachety computer or was the right wheel on the first burnout slipping? I've watched it a few times and each time it looks like the wheel stops spinning a couple of times before he takes off.
Thanks for turning me onto Mary's Mancream. My manhood has never been more comfortable.
That thing has a wicked sound to it
Marys man cream pimp juice! Thats incredible! UTG you have to copyright that!
Love the sound of the 6 👌. We used to produce some pretty solid 4 litre inline 6's in Australia - always good fun.
Sounds good Tony,
Seems solid and ready to rumble
Can’t wait to see you make some passes
I love the sound of the engine. I hope to one day have that sound sweet smell of rubber burning too
SLANT SICKNESS! I LOVE IT. Gotta soft spot for the 225 ever since my 77 Volare Super 6 complete with the hanging glow in the dark skull on the rear view mirror and “BODY IN TRUNK” rear bumper sticker
sounds like 1/8 mile time to me! thanks Tony and Kathy.
Everybody that watch yesterday's video there's the prop right there in The jug I love it look at the size of it
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I literally just told a guy last night about how good this car sounds, and today I am blessed with hot rod porn for my ears. That thing is BITCHEN!
Let’s see an AMC 258 that cranks some power 💪💪 As a jeep guy I feel left out LOL

Best sounding six that I’ve ever heard.
Beautiful weight transfer. It hooks then books
Glad to see you added that open spacer. It's providing a bunch more plenum for each port to draw from with a more balanced A/F ratio. Now....let's work on getting the converter and rear suspension to hook like a shark bite.
Lots of progress. I would say that thing runs twice as good now as it did a year ago.
Sounds like the converter is laying down on first holeshot
Awesome absolutely Awesome.....Plan Z Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Slant Six POWER
The car looks and sounds great. Good job Tony. Now getter to the track and maker dig!
This 225 slant six sounds like a small block V-8. Awesome mean sound. I love the label you put on the water bottle MOPAR Al was using… “Mary’s Man Cream Pimp Juice”. LOL 😂
You got to love those six cylinders sound man you are seriously my super hero love the channel and the education
Looking and sounding great.
Can't wait to see Plan Z ripping down the track.
nice car , good sound no fault on that
trible twin sidedraft 45mm webers/dellortos and a intake manifold/s that will support that setup , then it will really fly on the strip :)

but hey i don't have a car like that so just saying it as i see it
I had a 68 dart with a slant 6 in it, best car I've ever owned. I kick myself in the ass Every time I think about how I sold it.
Damn that sounded great! Can't wait to see it on the track. Thanks for sharing.
I’m excited to see what it’ll 60ft on a good surface. That parking lot looks really slick and she was trying to go!
That sure brings back memories of my youth! In 82, my 1st car was a 69 Dart with the 225 slant. I learned A LOT from that car!
I like early morning burnouts way better than a cold start vid
Man, for such a, lets face it, low powered engine that machine really gets the hell off the line. I am seriously impressed, having owned a couple of slant six powered vehicles in my day. I think I need to go look over all the build videos and see what you did.
Looks way faster than any of the slant 6 cars I owned! Have fun!
Love the sound of plan z. Needs more holes drilled and nos 😁
This thing is awesome! Total sleeper! I love it! 👏
Switching tires and are you neutral dropping it I know you thinkthat is ok
Glad you're back in business with Plan Z. Once you lower your tire pressure it should launch great. Can't wait to see the results.
Stepping out pretty good I'd say!
Can't wait to see it on track
Love 'the leaning tower of power '
Sickest sounding slant six I ever heard!
she looks pretty fast for what it is!
My favorite UTG project
OMG!!! Love the sound of a buzzin' half dozen! She's soundin' good Unk...
I can smell it! already! Awesome!
DAMN!!! That is a sweet sounding Slanty. Mines sitting in front of the car (Valiant) waiting to go in. I hope it sounds half that good with a street exhaust. YOU DONE GOOD UNCLE TONY!
Plan z can’t possibly fail!
Plan Z with its buzz'n 🐝 half dozen Slant6💪 . Its all good Tony . your extremly busy and its easy to over look something 💪😎🔧🏁
PlanZ is definitely launching straighter than last time. What is the goal for et's in the 1/8 or 1/4? Approx MPH?
@Yippee Skippy that's funny. When I would run at Fontana before they closed it all of my friends that run their sportsters there could not run with me even with more power. @Yippee SkippyAgreed 💯
Love to see plan z kicking ass,
Plan Z is sounding good and launching great. I see that Mary's man cream must have a special ingredient to assist with launches!
Looking forward to seeing a solid day at the track with Plan Z & Bottle Rocket.
Uncle Tony with two cars running at all at the track would be an oddity of epic proportions. Generally he shows up with major problems and can't make one clean pass. Racing is tough huh???
That slant sounds sweet ! Can barely wait to see it at the track!
LOOKS GOOD!!...When its on the track it will hook up good with the sticky track can't wait to see that day come
Leaning tower of power! Bullet proof beaut.
Someone should tell you that if your brakes fail you're going to go right into traffic! Other than that love you man. Another great video.
Why no posi-traction in the rear-end? Laun h3s good as is but wheel spin loses races.
Dude I love that car!
Great looking car and motor sounds amazing! 👏
let there be slant six!,that sound is amazing, remember me to the golden era for dodge winning a lot of championships racing here in argentina in the 80s,literally destroying fords and chevys.
Love the slant 6 power! Sounds great!
UTG turbo the slant and really have some fun.
Best thing about a slant 6, no problem hooking up. lol
Wow Tony, looks good , better than any inline 6 that I've ever owned. (that would be: in order: a '68Pontiac firebird OHC, '53 3/4 T chevy P/UP, '66 Chevy1/2 T p/up).
Love that sound. Launch looked strong. Still sticking to my 12.7 prediction.
What a cool car! You look at it and expect that typical V8 rumble, but instead it sounds like this insane mechanical tornado banging around under the hood. Can't wait to see it make it down the track.
Been waiting for this
What about bottle rock I am looking forward to see some video on it
Yeh Unk, I've been known for loose screws myself...and I wish it was just on my engines!
Smooth Al, clean and slow twist to clearly feature the sponsor. Almost like it was rehearsed. 🤣🤣
The April fools was brutal... everybody ok now? Glad to see this running - sounds mean.
so, when you snugged down the oil pan bolts, you went around the perimeter of the crankcase rather than going opposite or X like you would a head gasket, and that's why the passenger side bolts weren't snug leading to a leak?
No...I was busy talking and answering questions during the live build, and just never completed the job
Love the slant I did a 235 Chevy 6 about 30 years ago that was really super crazy oh and it's bald Sally's ball butter,!!
Yeah, sounds like a raving banshee!
estimated rear wheel HP???
Wow!! Impressive! Sounds insane, and launches nice!!!
Rear end clutches weak?
