i just happened upon your channel and fell in love with the two of you!… fun, approachable, authentic, and great expertise advice… love your dispatches ❤
LOL... The 80's!! I was a teenager in the eighties and I couldn't agree more with you. What were they thinking?? - I guess today's trend is the best of them all... It expresses freedom and lets our personalities show through without the rigidness of a strict trend.
This was very informative, very well done. The history of design is fascinating. A comparison of modern European vs American design would be fun to see. Within all the categories by decade, there are styles like French, both country and Parisian, styles from Britain, Italy etc that influenced American design. My style has always been Traditional, Classic. I lean toward Regency, Federal. Love American history. This is making, “a comeback”, apparently. I think that it never left, just not trendy. Good design stays away from trendy. Thanks. I enjoyed the photos and descriptions very much.
Thank you, thrilled to hear you enjoyed the video!! We agree, the history of design is incredibly fascinating to us as well. In our videos, we try to emphasize the importance of timeless design and how to marry timeless with the design trends of this era; it is truly easier now than it has every been. Thank you for sharing your great video idea, European vs American Design, love it!
Thank you!! Oh, we could truly geek out on this question and supply you with so many options! A bit spendy, this book is a deep dive into interior design history - History of Interior Design 4th Edition by John Pile & Judith Gura. They have a new book coming out next year as well.
60s-70s pleather/naugahyde was serviceable and easy to clean accommodating those children at the end of the baby boomers. (speaking from growing up in a family of 8)
Oh so true!:) We love using the pleathers today for the same reason! They are so realistic looking! If you love leather but don't want the worry or maintenance pleather is a great choice.
Lady In Green laughing of Victorian intricate style kind of pissed me off. I don’t even know why she is on the video since the other lady seems more like the expert. Victorian is absolutely gorgeous.
Living amongst Victorian homes, we agree that Victorian style is beautiful. The era is very important to the history of interior design and impacts our homes still today.
She laughed at a lot of styles. Did get obnoxious. Maybe she was nervous. Hopefully she will learn from watching to hold the laughter stay composed and offer something to the video. I enjoyed the video otherwise.
Back to the quality and textures - today design is the best one!
We agree!
I would love a deeper dive into specific timeless interior design elements. Thanks for the great video!

Don't buy the ivory! Let's not promote ivory Ladies.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! In hindsight we see how we could have worded this differently to not come across as promoting ivory.
