My girlfriend is watching bleach for the first time and we just finished SS arc. Aizen was her favourite captain and she was so spun out and creeped out when she found out he was alive and evil
Your theory about the reason why Ichigo got strong very fast because of hollowfication is very interesting and on point where a lot of people miss. Usually people would point that out as MC plot armour but Kubo masterfully made it actually make sense in the universe based on the rules that had already been laid out to make it consistent.
Yup. I think the issue was that, at the time, those rules and the way the universe works hadn't quite been revealed in full to the audience yet. I feel it's very clear that Kubo had at least a rough outline of the arc of series and the fundamental nature of its world from the jump, and if you lend him that trust A LOT of things really come together in hindsight. Bleach has a ton of *CLICK* "Oh, that's why that happened" moments. If you don't trust that though, and think Kubo was making it up as he went along, I can see how you might reach the conclusion that a lot of things were just in-the-moment asspulls. I guess that's the double-edged sword of "show don't tell."

Aizen doesn’t even need glasses, his initial look was to make him appear innocent and trustworthy, if you felt that way then that means the disguise worked.
This was the ultimate reveal, Kyoka Suigetsu is legitimately the most terrifying Zanpakuto in the series. Aizen also giving us the reason for his betrayal pretty much sums him up, beneath his long deception and elaborate plans it's all an ego trip.
Sort of. He is 100% extremely egotistical but he has a genuinely good reason as to *why* he wants to uproot the current hierarchy. Kyoka Suigetsu is so genuinely dangerous. We haven’t even really see him mentally break someone with its hypnosis too. @@The_Real_DCT it’s even more insane because…. SPOILERS after his evolutions he’s merged with his sword too and now anyone who *LOOKS* at him can be put under hypnosis. It’s bonkers in the best way
Its a phenomenal reveal, the best in the whole series. I'm more shocked there are still people into anime who don't know about it. Its one of the most famous scenes in Bleach. Glad you got to experience it cold though.
Part of what makes Aizen so amazing as a villain, is that he's neither the ultimate powerhouse or the cunning schemer, he is BOTH. Often villains are either so powerful they don't need tricks, or they have incredible tricks to make up for not being all that powerful, but Aizen completely spits in the face of that by being so powerful that his extremely well laid plan almost seems unnecessary and overkill. He's not just way too strong, not just way too smart, but he's also cautious enough to use everything he can even when it might not even have been necessary, and that makes his infinitely more scary. Villains often lose because of arrogance or loopholes in their plans, but Aizen makes you believe neither of those is an option. He's far too careful to fall to arrogance, and far to powerful for one breach of plan to bring him down. Aizen doesn't feel impossible to defeat because he blocked Ichigo with a finger or because he defeated everyone with ease. He feels impossible to defeat because he didn't do those things until then, even though he could.
My faorite thing about bleach is something you picked up on thankfully. Its the fact that many of the characters abilities have EVERYTHING to do with not only their personality, but their fate.
The Zanpakutō is one of my favorite things in fiction. Kubo NAILS tying a character’s motivations and beings into their powers and such. Makes it so much fun to analyze abilities
I am shocked that this type of videos arent more successful, not just your but in general like a first time reading/watching diary. It is probably the best thing to relieve a story for the first time. Obviously I could just reread Bleach from the beginng but i would be just repeating something I already know, but hearing u talk about it makes me feel like it is the first time again. I really hope u continue to do these videos and that u are careful and vary of potenial spoilers. Also Aizen vs Ichigo is even better in the anime i dont know if u have watched the anime version already so only click on read more if u have Aizen doesnt just stop Ichigo Sword with one finger he also stops Ichigos Theme which is just such a perfect way to break the fourth wall.
Consider the fact that Aizen-sama stopped Ichigo's *theme music* with one finger. Number One Best Villain Move (tm). That is possibly the biggest flex the anime could ever do to emphasize how badass that moment truly is. Oh, the days of all the Aizen jokes before the manga finished, I miss those 🤤 I am enjoying all your speculation SO MUCH. Reminds me of all the screws we went through with my best friend back in the day. I am definitely going to keep up. Happy reading!
Ahh I remember aizen reveal hit me like a truck and stomped my brain, it only gets better from now on , happy to see new ppl experiencing this masterpiece ✨
My dude. Its first time Ive seen your channel and apart from amazing content hear this: In anime, when Ichigo theme was playing, aizen stopped his sword with a finger and HIS FUCKING THEME. He litereally stopped the music audience was hearing. That was such a power move never yet to be seen in anime internet flipped.
I love how Kubo writes his main characters. Urahara is essentially a good guy, but he developed the Hogyoku and hid it into Rukia without telling her, which is a pretty shitty thing to do.. yet he's still a good guy at the end of the day, who helped Ichigo tremendously.
one of the ONLY times i will EVER reccomend a scene from the anime over the manga equivalent. in the anime when aizen shows up on the execution hill and ichigo charges him. we as the viewer are riding the high from defeating byakuya, we saved rukia. we still have our bankai. we got the theme song rocking. ichigo has got this. we sing along "IF YOU WANNA SEE SOME ACTION" oh yeah this is going to be an epic finale to this anime right? RIGHT?! aizen. STOPPED the fucking theme song. the moment he stopped ichigos blade the music completely cuts to silence, and we see ichigo get cut down and we are left fucking BAMBOOZLED LIKE NO OTHER ANIME HAS EVER DONE BEFORE. my balls were in my throat holy shit. You said that moment in the manga was insane? the anime was a thousand times more batshit cray cray
What I like most in this part of the anime happens in the animation, at the moment when Ichigo attacks Aizen with the Bankai, the music of the protagonist and his mother's son begins to play, not only for you. 😅😂😂😂 I'm sorry if you don't understand but English is not my language. ❤
I know what you mean! When I was watching the anime episodes covering the chapters, I loved how the music cut off when Aizen caught the blade. Added to the scene even more! Great catch, my friend and an amazing moment.
@@agamotto5354Funfact. He did not only stopped the music, he fucking killed it. Literally, the anime never used the song again after that moment. It's just well and truly gone. Only remix and stuff, never the full original.
@@agamotto5354if you think Aizen is bad you should check out Inuyasha Naraku has got to be the most slimy horrible villian he's turned Sangos little brother against her after he arranged for her whole Demon Slayer clan to be murdered hired a dark priestess to curse Kagome so she would control her to kill Inuyasha because nothing makes Naraku happier then watching loved ones fighting each other so he can watch the spectacle
I am so shocked you got this far without ever being spoiled about Aizen. He's literally the reason that "Top 10 anime betrayals" exists, and his evil genius has become a part of shonen canon to the point current airing shows have their villains partially based on him. Hope you enjoy what's to come!
It's nice seeing more people get into Bleach now that the TYBW is being animated. There's one thing you'll learn is Tite Kubo is a MASTER of Character design and foreshadowing huge reveals early in the story that don't pay off until the end. Bleach is truly a masterpiece!
3:10 Ironically that's same scene with clear signs something's off but you don't notice it because why would you analyse it so closely at the time. The big one being he's been impaled by his own Zanpakutō, the same one that's clearly still in its sheath at his waist. also that he's obviously in a standing posture not hanging; feet flat, legs apart, and not slouched over above the sword. The blood also looks like it was made to be dramatic, but doesn't make much sense.
BRO I love watching your journey through the series and I can't wait to see what your thoughts on the next arc man! Your channel is really great and I love your videos! Keep it up man, I saw your first ever one way back I've been keeping up ever since! Edit: spelling errors
I remember when watching this arc for the first time I thought that Aizen reminded me of Clark Kent. Then I remembered that Clark goes dark every once in a while. So Sousuke “Goody Two Shoes” Aizen had me on edge.
i watched this back in the day and it was one of my first introductions to anime , i remember the girl who introduced me to it asked me who my favourite was and i was like Aizen , he just seemed so nice and she just smiled and i didnt know why at the time. Many people say the same he was designed to be kind and likeable and disarmingly so. It really was a good plot man
Righht ! I knew you had seen the memes. I was like how doesnt he know who aizen is? And then i was like well what if he really has encountered evil aizen so it doesnt click that the murder victim is a bad dood
Wait until you get to the tybw. Lots of things in soul society arc have foreshadowing to what will happen later. Pay attention to ichigo vs kenpachi fight for instance 😉 P.s. when you get to tybw watch it in anime (ch. 480), the anime has added so much lore
Agree sub plots are what made bleach so lovable how toshrio had his aizen & gin cat & mouse while ichigo tried to save rukia 😮💨 save with ichigo going to huceo munedo while the captains fought for the story to all tie up man good ole days
I remember watching the soul society arc for the first time. It completely blind sided me. I really enjoy a show that does things I don't expect because most of them are on rails that just feel too easy to predict. The few scenes we did see of him up until his death never gave a hint of him being bad in anyway. Not only did he have the power of illusion but Aizen himself was a very strong man with high intellect.
17:10 That finger is even more insane in anime... There wasn't any villain in anime history (or at least any before Bleach) to be able to stop main character theme from playing in background with single finger ;)
You may want to co-read/watch TYBW, because during his time working on the manga Kubo didn't have as much freedom to display what he wanted due to tight scheduling and illness. But now TYBW is making changes from the manga from Kubo's supervision
If certain fan theories turn out to be true, Aizen may be even more despicable than what we've been shown on screen. The first theory is that Aizen took advantage of Momo the night before he faked his death. The second is same as the first except also Aizen got Momo pregnant. Her pregnancy and the birth of "Sosuke Junior" were kept secret from nearly everyone by order of Head Captain Yamamoto and Captain Unahana.
2:00 worth mentioning their are several fodder characters that later look like aizen. You couldve easily assumed the original aizen role was a lookalike
It's insane how you managed to avoid spoilers and parts of the story, even after seeing Aizen as a meme haha. Can we all agree to help this man completely avoid all spoilers and just get to enjoy reliving reading Bleach again for the first time.
I already knew that aizen was gonna be the villain before watching bleach, but it still caught me off guard cause he got „killed“ and everything was pointing towards gin being the main culprit
I remember I watched this arc as a child first time around this time I finished DBZ n was also watching Naruto n OP. Ive never seen anything like the Aizen plot twist in anime it shook me to my core he came off as bland and innocent someone gentle you could trust whole time he is a clever psychopath till this day one of the craziest plot twist ever eventually other animes started to doing big plot twist and I loved almost everyone especially animes that came after like Death Note FMAB n AOT
Got me too. I was at the anime part where Aizen “died” then read ahead in the manga to find out the big bad was Aizen. I was like, are there 2 Aizens who fooled me so bad…
When Aizen first showed Momo he was still alive, I couldn't believe it. I seriously thought it was some sort of hallucination or something made by Gin. That was until he stabbed her and the realization of the fact that he was the bad guy all along came crashing down on me. He fooled me until the very end where I couldn't deny it anymore
I'd like to remind you, when Aizen slicked back his hair... HE HAD NO GEL. HIS HAIR JUST KNEW BETTER.
He has perfect hypnosis. He could have looked like a stylish pigeon if he wanted

after his evolutions he’s merged with his sword too and now anyone who *LOOKS* at him can be put under hypnosis.
Kubo really does play some 5D chess with Gin throughout his run. Definitely one of my favorite characters.
Excuse me my good sir. Did you said Treachery?
Aizen's theme song is Iconic
My faorite thing about bleach is something you picked up on thankfully. Its the fact that many of the characters abilities have EVERYTHING to do with not only their personality, but their fate.
The Zanpakutō is one of my favorite things in fiction. Kubo NAILS tying a character’s motivations and beings into their powers and such. Makes it so much fun to analyze abilities
You have no concept of how enjoyable it was watching through your uploads to here watching you fall into every trap and set up placed by kubo. 😂
It’s why he is one of the GREATEST villains EVER.
Better you found out by yourself than told
I am shocked that this type of videos arent more successful, not just your but in general like a first time reading/watching diary. It is probably the best thing to relieve a story for the first time. Obviously I could just reread Bleach from the beginng but i would be just repeating something I already know, but hearing u talk about it makes me feel like it is the first time again. I really hope u continue to do these videos and that u are careful and vary of potenial spoilers. Also Aizen vs Ichigo is even better in the anime i dont know if u have watched the anime version already so only click on read more if u have
Aizen doesnt just stop Ichigo Sword with one finger he also stops Ichigos Theme which is just such a perfect way to break the fourth wall.
Consider the fact that Aizen-sama stopped Ichigo's *theme music* with one finger. Number One Best Villain Move (tm).
That is possibly the biggest flex the anime could ever do to emphasize how badass that moment truly is.
Oh, the days of all the Aizen jokes before the manga finished, I miss those 🤤
I am enjoying all your speculation SO MUCH. Reminds me of all the screws we went through with my best friend back in the day. I am definitely going to keep up. Happy reading!
Ahh I remember aizen reveal hit me like a truck and stomped my brain, it only gets better from now on , happy to see new ppl experiencing this masterpiece ✨
Bruhhh samee I was dumbfounded 😭 show instantly had me hooked at that point
Crauy how that is the last time we hear that version of the song 😂 feels like Aizen killed the singer
@@agamotto5354Funfact. He did not only stopped the music, he fucking killed it. Literally, the anime never used the song again after that moment. It's just well and truly gone. Only remix and stuff, never the full original.
@@jordanjames3194 bruhhhhh.......
It makes me wonder how he's going to react to her...
So Sousuke “Goody Two Shoes” Aizen had me on edge.
i cant wait to hear him talking about the arrancar saga when he gets to it, gonna love it
The best villain in anime ❤
i watched this back in the day and it was one of my first introductions to anime , i remember the girl who introduced me to it asked me who my favourite was and i was like Aizen , he just seemed so nice and she just smiled and i didnt know why at the time. Many people say the same he was designed to be kind and likeable and disarmingly so. It really was a good plot man
My man u giving me and other chills as we re live this through you. you def got a new follow
Oh man it really was an amazing reveal and arc. Aizen showing up and just getting away with his objective was simply amazing !
It's awesome to see someone else experience bleach for the first time. Really takes me back.
Lmaooo yessss in the video where you said aizen reminds you of your dad i was like “oh boy, i hope that doesnt stay consistent” 😂😂
Righht ! I knew you had seen the memes. I was like how doesnt he know who aizen is? And then i was like well what if he really has encountered evil aizen so it doesnt click that the murder victim is a bad dood
Every single line Aizen has is killer, but "Rukia may remain in your arms. The rest of you will have to go" is wiiiiild.
Wait until you get to the tybw. Lots of things in soul society arc have foreshadowing to what will happen later. Pay attention to ichigo vs kenpachi fight for instance 😉
P.s. when you get to tybw watch it in anime (ch. 480), the anime has added so much lore
I can’t wait to see you in the arrancar arc, minds gonna be flabbergasted
Agree sub plots are what made bleach so lovable how toshrio had his aizen & gin cat & mouse while ichigo tried to save rukia 😮💨 save with ichigo going to huceo munedo while the captains fought for the story to all tie up man good ole days
Bleach is my favorite manga/anime. Looking forward to seeing more videos about it from you.
I just realized I have seen tons of Bleach anime reactions, but I had never seen a Bleach MANGA reaction
Nice video man.
watched this arc for first time recently and even though i knew aizen was evil i was completely shook by how the reveal was done.
Keep making these vids man theyre so good 😭
The only “all according to keikaku” villain I actually think pulls it off masterfully
For you not to get spoiled before the end of Soul Society was also part of Aizen's plan.
I really like the style you're sharing your impressions with us. It's refreshing to not listen to yet another interpretation or wild theories.
This was a brilliant video. Well done
The fact that he still played the innocent role while hugging her shows how sadistic he is, he didn’t have but still did it for kicks.
2:00 worth mentioning their are several fodder characters that later look like aizen. You couldve easily assumed the original aizen role was a lookalike
this plot twist was so much better than the "it was all part of my plan"
Finding this video literally took me back to how I felt the first time I watched it, thanks man. ❤
love that people didn't spoil you. Can't wait for you to continue to experience the Series.
‘Has ichigo just been an experiment this whole time’ damn
Bleach is really amazing.
And underrated 👍
It's insane how you managed to avoid spoilers and parts of the story, even after seeing Aizen as a meme haha.
Can we all agree to help this man completely avoid all spoilers and just get to enjoy reliving reading Bleach again for the first time.
this is unique. subbed!
I love this
Imagine if early bleach was released in the social media era
Everyone would have this kind of reaction and will get hype
Welcome brother. Gin is the og
Soul society is easily my best arc in bleach and big 3 🗣️🗣️
It'll be interesting to hear your take on the Arrancar Arc
Aizen is my fav villain oat my first reaction to his betrayal was "WTF" honestly continue the good work beo Bleach gets better and better
17:15 "Boop, got your spine🙂"
My favourite thing in the anime is when ichigo attacks aizen his theme is playing and comes to a sudden stop when aizen stops it with his finger
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and thoughts! X
You are in for a treat man, I’ll be watching your journey 🤝
“He apparently always was” … you got no idea how true that is.
