Thank you for making these videos. I am a newby to quilting,, and I love all the videos available to teach me things. I love the block you made. would love to see the finished quilt
You made it look easy. But I have a lot of solids and print in polyester and you know it kinda stretching but the colors don’t fade when it’s washed. Can I still do a jacob’s Latter with that kind of fabric?
Thanks, and you're welcome. You can do quilting with what ever fabric you have, there is no quilting police. But, you might just find more challenges w/ a stretchy fabric. Give it a try and see if you like it!! That is all that matters.
well dang it, I was sure I replied to this from my phone when I was on the road this last weekend. But apparently it got lost somewhere. the HST start with a 5" square of fabric. The 4 patches are 2.75" strips and then trim the squares down to 4.5" unfinished. I hope that is what you're looking for. Thanks for watching!
Love a Jacob’s Ladder quilt, love your fabric choices. What line are you using? Hope you will show the completed quilt, I already know it’s going to be so very pretty. I, too, love your videos everything is so easy to understand..
I will be sure to share when it's complete. And I better get going on it as the baby will be here in July!! It isn't a line of fabric, just fabrics I picked up at various stores. In fact I picked out several browns I thought would perfect, but then started laying things out and didn't like them - and found the perfect brown in my stash!!! :-) Pink - Basicgrey grunge for Moda #30150 Brown - Marble b Holly Taylor for Moda pink/floral print is a batik and it doesn't have the name on it. :-(
@@WendyJHaney I look forward to seeing your baby quilt. Yes, July will be here before we know it but it seems so far away when it’s so cold and dreary out. I will welcome some hot days at this point. I did recognize the pink as grunge fabric, going to find and order the brown after I type this. I like pinks and browns together, every since I saw one of my high school teacher pair the two colors together, this was years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I guess I was pairing fabrics together way back then, just didn’t realize at the time it’d be for all my sewing and quilting projects. 😊
I'll admit, I was struggling with the color scheme I was given - rosy neutrals. But dang, once I got some fabrics pulled together, I do love it too!! Can't wait to get going on this. I have a quilt retreat coming up in a few weeks and the goal is to get the top done then.
I love that fabric combination. It’s really pretty!
Thanks! I was pretty happy with it too. Made a pretty baby quilt 💜
