    Get a drill brush attachment and a spray bottle, saturate the seats with the solution, agitate the stains with the drill brush until it starts to be foamy, then extract with the bissell pro.

      Patrick E - Molds need a combination of stale air and moist environment. Otherwise they can't develop. Deny one or preferably both of them and you'll be trouble free.
      By far the best solution when the car is not in daily use under ideal conditions. Use a dehumidifier. Let it work overnight, not only it will reduce the moist levels considerably. But will also circulate air while at it. The sheer sensation of comfort inside can only be felt by the users.
      While left working overnight, I've seen full 5 liter reservoir come out of cars. Which is rather impressive considering the relatively small volume of a car interior!

    I’ve also used this bissell cleaner (and method) but I definitely recommend spraying the cleaner on separately and only using hot water in the bissell. I love the results I’ve gotten. Just make sure you do plenty of dry passes and press firmly to get out as much water as possible. If you don’t rinse the solution out then every time the fabric gets wet the cleaner in gets reactivated and makes your car seats act like a cleaning rag. I use a spray bottle with water and laundry detergent and a little oxi-clean (and sometimes a drill brush but and soft brush works with a little elbow grease) but I’ve also used degreaser after I got actual mechanical grease on my seats and it was like magic. I try to do this as early as I can in the day and leave the windows and doors open to let everything fully dry. To clean the headliner of just use a barely damp rag, and don’t spray the headliner but just spray the rag and rub gently until you get it. I know some people recommend removing the seats to save your back and give you better access to clean them and sun them, if you decide to do that you’ll want to disconnect the negative terminal on your car battery 20 minutes before because you’ll need to disconnect the plug for airbags in the seat, then you unbolt and you’re good to go. Hope this helps next time or helps someone else! You did awesome and I definitely know what it’s like when the little ones are more like little tornados through the back seat.

    Deep stains from spills like you showed do benefit from vacuum extraction. Always dry vacuum first, of course. For lighter, quick touch-ups, Bissell makes a very good $5 foam upholstery cleaner with a built in brush. Good for floor mats too!. Use towels after cleaning to absorb both the dirt and moisture. Usually dries in under one hour!

      We just did the roof liner in our truck that was filthy - we used a can of multipurpose spray, let it sit for a few minutes. Then used a brush attachment on the drill on a slow speed and went over every inch - finally wipe over with clean cloths. Comes up beautiful. Don’t use the Bissell otherwise it will delaminate.

    Quality microfibers. Wet one and rinse out, It should just be damp. Use the wet one to wipe the roof and the dry one afterwards. Works best with hot water. For stubborn stains just spray the spot with either the stuff bissel gave you or any other carpet cleaner. For stubborn stain dab a little alcohol on the spot. Also try to use a soft bristle brush to get all the dust off the roof before starting, I use my vacuum with the white brush attachment.

    Good first try . Just my 2 cents to make your life much much easier and you come easily do all this work in less the half of the time with 5x better results .
    1) buy drill brush attachments on eBay $9.99 (3pk)
    2) spray all purpose cleaner soap liberally on the seat and I mean liberally (sewing the condition )
    3) use drill brush on a power drill (any home drill) , make couple of passes with drill in high speed u will see dark spots literally fade out in a second
    4) use this water extractor and I guarantee u that your seats will brand new
    Good luck

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Baktash. Hmmm, my husband is English. So, if your weather is similar to England’s, and it sounds like it is, I understand why you’re asking. The seats are left slightly damp. Which means it dried in an hour or two on a hot day (10 months of the year☀️☀️) in Texas. But, if I were in England with all the rain and clouds and limited access to covered garages, I’m not sure what I’d do. Maybe you can clean the back seats just before running errands when the back seats can dry from heat running. I’m sorry, I know damp is a mold risk in wet, northern countries, I wish I could be more helpful. 🤷‍♀️

    Headliners are super delicate. Maybe just a spray bottle of dawn and water and just lightly blot and scrub very gently with a medium paintbrush or detailing brush and have a towel to wipe ASAP because any moisture will make the headliner adhesive come apart very quickly. For tight spaces you can just unbolt the seats and taken 'em out. Just disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 20 minutes if they have airbags so they discharge.
