    Don´t forget to cancel your registration, otherwise you have to pay a fine when you like to register again. All travelers forget to tell you this.

      :( This is the first time I have heard of FEIC not nailing it. How long were you in Thailand, and how long was it before they got back to you? It could be that the CAAT portion was not completed a couple of weeks before your arrival to the land of smiles!

    Great video, thank you! I fly for a living in seaplanes and am bringing my drone to my home ini Thailand.... Similar to Canada, drone laws are ridiculous thanks to some drone hooligans when drones first hit the market. Rant over but my point is, for example FPV like Avata 2 is technically not legal even though your can use the cameras on the front of the Goggles 3... it's not considered flying with line of sight. You can't fly over private property.... where are those property lines?..... hmmm... can't fly over people.... common sense... but if you watch most videos of people showing how amazing Thailand is.. they are breaking at least 3 rules. Nobody respects the 90 Meter rule and I have never run into anyone that even knew Thailand had drone laws or had any paperwork to fly their drone. Ahh well.... just be a good human and do the best you can!

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s always interesting to hear from someone with real-world experience in aviation and drone laws. It’s true, navigating regulations can be quite the challenge, especially in beautiful places like Thailand! Jealous of your home in Thailand! Im going back in November and Im planning to be a little more confident in the places I choose to fly the drone! Just be a good human and do the best you can is SPOT ON! Cheers!

      @@molldyshibuya1092 I don't know for sure. If it was registered with your arrival, you will need to register again on your next arrival. Did you set it up through the FEIC? Because if you did, the person who helped you with that might have a better understanding of your specific situation.

    Hey mate, other than the footage at the beach were you able to use your drone very much? it seems impossible with the 30m horizontally away from people etc.

    • @thejauntingape
      @thejauntingape  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great Question, I honestly didn't use it a whole lot because it seems all the places you want to fly are usually in a National Park or breaking some kind of rule. It seems as though a lot of those rules get 'bent'. Example is I left my drone in my room for my Khao Sok lake day because it is a park, but once I was there I saw multiple people using them and the tour guides seemed to be Allright with it.

    • @thejauntingape
      @thejauntingape  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @74mili there is still plenty of cool things you can shoot off the beaten path if you dont want to get into any risky situations. It might be worth hiring a taxi to get out of the hustle and into some rural stuff. Rice fields are really cool and make for excellent drone footage!

    Hi ,
    Can i know how to get permission to fly about national park , like Phi Phi Island

    • @thejauntingape
      @thejauntingape  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thanks for the comment! As far as I know you need to apply for special permits throught the national parks. However, I have read that thailand has changed the rules and allowing flight in parks as long as the drone is properly registered and insured. I haven't found this in writing on any official sites, and when i was there in December, they were still checking bags to make sure you weren't sneaking in a drone in SOME parks. Phi Phi island itself I believe is not a park and you can fly it there. It's Maya Bay and Pi Le lagoon that are protected. I would be blown away if they allow drones in maya bay, I think it would be catastrophe with the amount of people that would be doing it. Hope that helps

    • @thejauntingape
      @thejauntingape  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You bet, if you contact them before you arrive they can set up the CAAT for you, then you just send them your entry stamp when you land and you should be cleared by NBTC within a day or 2. I had mine within 24 hours of landing

    Is it possible to register the drone with a german insurance (the Insurance is written in englisch and got all the requirements of an insurance)

    • @thejauntingape
      @thejauntingape  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I guess that would depend whether or not your insurance covers international or not. But to be on the safe side, I would go with a thai insurance. There is a good chance that something didn't add up because of translating errors. I was also having a hard time getting mine sorted until I bought the insurance through FEIC. Once I contacted them, it went super quick and smooth. I did buy the insurance through them, but at the end of the day, it was totally worth the extra little bit of money. Hope that helps!

    • @thejauntingape
      @thejauntingape  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      .@@fwdrone2377 The good news is that if you aren’t currently in Thailand the CAAT Thailand drone registration can be done remotely before your arrival. Though it can take up to 2 weeks for CAAT to process your registration. You can do your CAAT registration by yourself online at: uav.caat.or.th/ If you are already in Thailand there is an office in Bangkok, however I dont think that it is any faster than doing it online, there again, going through FEIC they will make sure it is all done right the first time so there is no delays. Im actually heading to back to Thailand on Sunday, I need to get the NBTC redone as it expires along with your tourist visa, while the CAAT is good for 2 years(I was in Thailand in January of 2023 so mine is still good). I have been chatting with FEIC and they are assuring me I will have the NBTC covered within 2 days of my arrival, I simply need to send them my passport stamp and we are golden! This is another reason I choose to use FEIC, as they store all my information so it is super simple to re-register! Hope this helps! Are you already in Thailand?
