My heart was aching when you arrived in Ormoc. It was my home away from home for so many years until I divorced and my ex took possession of the house. I don't miss my ex for one second, but I still miss Ormoc and I miss my house!

Adam just an observation on this video….. the green dirty kitchen has the water filters mounted upside down. The filters cannot work properly due to the trapped air which you can see. Plus all the contamination will poor out when you undo them instead of being able to dispose of properly……

I used to wear shoes back home but because of the weather i prefer wearing open ones like sandals or crocs!
Eat small portions of rice and lots of fruit and veg. and you will lose weight. Drink coffee once a day, drink pure chocolate (no sugar), lots of water, give up alcohol.

I am soo jealous, lol :) I left Ormoc Feb last year then covid happened - Hoping to be able to get back in the new year. I cant wait to check in at pier 1 again, sit down and have a coffee, get on the ferry, wake up and see the Superdome in the distance. I even miss the "Taxi Sir?" guy that used to annoy me so much coming out of the terminal every time :D I dont know if I could handle 10 days in a hotel in Cebu though but if the inter-webs connection is good, then maybe :) Enjoy being back home for good. I am still counting the days til I can buy that one way ticket ;)

That garden is incredible and I’m loving the grotto. The patio floors are so cool lookin. Wow it’s about as close to living in the jungle without actually living in the jungle. You two appear so refreshed and relaxed.

The coconut have many variety there are golden and there are evergreen. The dwarf ones are not really dwarf they just bare fruit early but soon they could 30ft tall or higher.

I guess one good thing about the Quarantine is you definitely got plenty of rest and acclimated to the Philippines time zone! I'm a new subscriber and don't know too much about you guys. If it's not too personal, how were you able to retire so early Adam or will you still be working on line like some expats. Thanks for the videos! My wife is building a house in her province, Samar. Not quite as big as you guys! Take care, have a great time and good luck!!
It did help as we had lots of travel still to do. We will make a video at some point talking a bit more about our overall journey here and decision process including our budget, plans etc. I don't plan to work again but never say never. Take care my friend.

I live here in Illinois U.S.A.. I miss life there in the province, the crowing of the roosters in early morning hours, having conversations with neighbours and the business of the day at the market places. Oh btw those bananas (saging saba), they make good bananacues n turon (flour battered bananas like Norwegian crepes) and also 100% young coconut juice that go w that also. I hope you guys make the best out of life there still though sometimes there are some challenges ie hot weather, rainy season, typhoons, and whatever else it might be. I hope n pray that things will always work out very well for everyone no matter what. God bless to all of you there. I’m looking forward to my retirement and I feel I’m becoming more convinced each day to retire there.

Yes the property is in Dolores Ormoc in the area where you built your new home. Once you get there you will notice new roads they just bulldozed recently a few days ago. If you go down your road the one in front of your house going towards Ormoc you will notice the new road. The property is on the left side of that road near the trees. I have a picture but sure how to upload it here.

It was approximately 3 hours.
Congratulations Adam/Jane. Now that you are there assimilation into the local community and more importantly Filipino life begins. Patience is one area that bedevils us Westerners because by our lifestyle, customs, and our fixation on efficiency we have to relearn how to live a slower and more inefficient life that is practiced throughout Asia. You will be okay as long as you remember why you moved there in the first place.

I hope you will be as happy in 12 months time. After a while Adam you will realise what a great place the UK is to live. But I hope you continue to enjoy your adventure in the Philippines. How I wish I could travel back there again. But I somehow doubt it will be possible for years to come.
