I had the joy of getting to visit the Met several years ago as a student to see Lucia di Lamermoor, and though I was literally in the last row of seats in that huge space, her voice carried like a bell. So beautiful! I still rewatch her version of Elixir of Love as my favorite!
Wonderful. She has it all and works hard; voice, talent, beauty, grace and intellect. She is so right about the NY Metropolitan opera - that audience is intense. They are sensitive to every word, phrase and gesture. There are moments when - in a space of nearly 3,000 audience - the silence is hard to believe, until the moment ends. Even at other great world houses, much of the audience is there for "an evening out" but at the Met, they are there to steal and inhale and make themselves a part of the music.
I am the number one fan of pretty..some years ago I watched her performing in Durban ICC.. it was mind blowing

Given opportunity and adequate funds the cream always rises to the top. This leads me to reflect on all of the great talent that South Africa lost out on and continues to lose out on due to the inequities created by the Apartheid regime. Well done! Keep spreading the magic!

To think I can sing like this but don't have the training I need to make it, it's crazy I tell ya but I'm so proud of her she's amazing I pray oneday I get to meet and sing with her

I agree. She is only famous because of wokeism and her color. Maybe also money, because her sister can do the same? Her high notes are screamed, shrill and ugly.
