I always come for the gear and stay for the wise words , thanks Chase.
Here to hang with Chase.
"You're going double left, bro!" 😂
… and then it got really dark 🤣
I bought a Tortuga travel backpack and a Nomatic travel pack a few years back for myself and partner, to embrace “minimal” travel. Chase’ reviews sold me on them and the concept of minimal travel. No more baggage claims and lost baggage. The gear matters in terms of knowing that it’s reliable, it works and is so good you don’t even need to think about it. That’s where products like this are value for money. Yes they are expensive but they work!
That ending was amazing. Dark but pretty real hahaha. Review was great too, thanks!
SPOILER ALERT: Bag is fine and the real content starts @11:10
Hey Chase! Just wanted to show! You got me into traveling a bit more light! I appreciate all your work and recommendations!
I got the peak design 45l travel backpack during its kickstarter and have been using it ever since!
I just ordered this 3-bag bundle. I don’t need the organizational panel that the Pro bag has. I have that in my old bag, and I’ve never used it. I’m also getting older, so the weight matters, and the hip belt & load balancers on the shoulder straps will be great.
I’m going to use it on my July trip to the Caribbean. I’m planning to pack pretty minimally, so I’m traveling out with the smaller bag empty and I’ll use it as a personal item on my return flight if needed.
You said you weren’t sure what dysentery is. Dysentery is basically when you shit diarrhea until you want to die.
Thanks for the review and thank YOU for being, Chase.
you're still the only individual I watch & look for when it comes to travel bags, I'm still using the old Tortuga Outbreak (IIRC that's the name) which I've had for numerous years and I've wanted to see what improvements they could make from that one, it's been such a solid bag from all my journeys from spending days on an Amtrak to flights & spending weeks in different states that like you said you simply just don't need another bag for 6+ years. I'm really glad to see they made the improvements for the water bottle holder (mine is a yuck zipper one that often is more a hassle than convenience) & splitting the mesh pouch into 2 cubes. Thanks for all the great reviews and input Chase, keep on keepin on brutha
looking good Chase! this backpack looks like it would be really nice to travel with, love that the mesh pockets have dimension on the inside, i havent seen any brands do that personally so far
Always brings a smile to my face when I see a YT thumbnail with a new ChaseReeves vid!!!!
I found you when you guested at Nomad Nation podcast and i feel like I am watching a stand up comedy and so I followed you here. I got most bags and accessories I have but if I get convinced to buy one, would just be a bonus. I am here for your presentation.
Got the Pakt backpack 1.0 back in 2020 and man, I just don't think I'll ever get away from it. I love that thing. Every trip I take it on, it just feels like it's not even there unless I want it to be. And it looks just like the day I bought it after I brush it off. Those shoulder straps do eat my shoulders tho lol. But it feels so OG at this point. It's more like a companion than a bag at this point. Thanks for being here Chase.
Omg Chase, just found you online. Looking at Tortuga Pro but live in Canada. Also looking at Pakt. You have a mountain of knowledge and what a riot to listen to you. Thank you!
For a week or less with my travel art kit, my go to is the Bellroy light 20 liter pack. For longer trips I love the Mother Loader. I never use anything larger.
My top 3: The Nomatic 30 holds a special place in my heart….i also love the GoRuck GR2 26L….the “travel” bag I use the most is the v1 Wandrd Prvke 31L I cut out the internal separators and use it as a personal item (on spirit air)…I live in New York so it doubles as my grocery bag.
Looks like the perfect travel bag for me!
I've had my MEI Executive Overnighter for almost 15 years. It's been everywhere.
Chase, always a fan of your videos… I feel like we are bag brothers…er..something. Ok, weirdness aside, I have been recently putting a Thule Aion 28L to the tests and matched sling bag for the hip belt option. I’m absolutely in love with this setup for my mixed personal and business trip use. It honestly crushes.
Chase, I really wished you kept up with your podcast. You’re a joy to watch and listen to. I’m sure I’m not alone in being here watching you talk about a bag I’ve no interest in. Hope all is well with you dude
What I'm committed to: Tom Bihn Aeronaut 45 for carry-on travel, Able Carry Daybreak v2 for lightweight personal-item travel.
The north face base camp voyager travel pack 35, black out colorway. Found two Dicks sporting goods in the northeast with one in stock.. bought both. $180 for each, $360 for both.. still cheaper than the AER and way better IMO. Awesome travel pack for $180 regardless of color, but if you can find the all black (no white stitching accents), get it.
Topo designs 30l travel bag committed to it and love it
from your review, I still have the peak design 45lt travel back pack.. I just can't quit it.. Its perfect for me. The Swiss army knife of back packs.
here 11:20 talking about you, bag nerd. i’m guilty of it too. words that strike deep into the core, loves it (watch this part thrice).
Another great video.
Great vid Chase! Im in the market for a travelingbackpack. Which would you go with the Tortuga 40L pro or the Tortuga 40L lite? I'm 6’4” thanks for your advice.
10:23 ULA Dragonfly + a grocery bag as my personal item.
Can't do the left-handed side-handle Tortuga sticks to model after model. I purchased a discontinued Setout, amazing in every way, except the side-handle placement for left-handed grab and set down; I almost never use this bag for this issue alone. Otherwise it would probably be my go-to travel bag.
matador globerider 45 is the king!
11 minutes in bro real talk - good lad.
Where is this awesome hat from !??
I wondering whats the name brand of t-shirt. It look like good quality.
you doing allright man?
the gear doesnt matter part got me worried
nice
3.4 lbs is ‘lightI’!? Haha
but is it solid?
🤣
If only they had a 30L version...
Bag meh.. You, best as always.
We all know Pakt is better…at least compared to the Travel Light edition.
3.5 lbs for the pack alone doesn’t seem Lite, but i guess it’s basically luggage.
“God shaped hole in your heart.” Is a sublime line bro. Christ is risen! If you are ever looking for a church look up an Orthodox Church. It’s worth visiting. You would love the ceremony and the incense. You are the best creator on TH-cam.
I can never understand why bag reviewers think that people put phones into backpacks. Who doesn't carry his phone in his pants pocket?
In airport security maybe?
