Salmon run has really helped me develop better movement and ink management most. The way the mode made me rethink the way i use my ink from the main, sub, and in conjunction of using special to refill ink cannot be understated!! Such a simple but powerful skill to learn

I don’t really keep up with the community much but I guess I never perceived salmon run as being unpopular. I always have people to play with in freelance and the mode is supported by special events. For me, about 95% or more of my playtime with Splatoon 3 is spent on Salmon Run. It does force me out of my weapon preference rut when I do play other modes. I like that I have to figure out the best way to do things with what I’ve got for that round, even if it’s not a weapon I like.

PvP modes are generally way more popular since they're the main focus of the game, but there has been more people getting into salmon run since Splatoon 3's launch and the various events (big run, eggstra work). I also spend 95% of my playtime in SR though haha

I honestly think that salmon run teaches the players to play as a team more and better than the other modes.
For example, I fell that in gamemodes like rainmaker you can get carried very easily. Meanwhile in salmon run it doesn't matter if everyone is a pro: if all of them plays alone. It's very probable they are about to loose.

I really love salmon run as a ways to take a break from tanked but still have the intensity of it, and also the rewards are huuuge :D
and the one skill thy transfers most for me is squid rolling and being agile with bomb throwing :]
Edit: also your awareness, knowing where and what ur teammates are doing, and knowing when to help teammates or when you should avoid risks to wait for help from teammates :)

funny thing is it was the other way around for me. Me sweating to dodge Godlike charger users and splatlings, or even against any weapon that has more range than me with dapples to splat them before splatting me actually made me better in dodging slow moving enemies in salmon run. Basically improving my movement. thats just me tho just sharing lol 😂

this is so relatable, one big tip for anyone trying to get used to a different play mode (tabletop or handheld) is you can play Salmon Run to improve faster.

Yeah that's a good point! I went from handheld to pro controller a few months ago and i used salmon run to get used to it since it's fairly low risk

@@mossyquartzz hey, i'm was thinking about getting a pro controller lst week. Do you think it made a difference in your game compared to using just the joycons ? Because I'm having some trouble with connection issues between the console and the Joy Con I'm using rn and also it's kinda broken, it has drift, a broken joystick and the motion sensor isn't very accurate sometimes.

@@dav0111 i'm not the person you asked, but switching from joycons to a pro controller was a HUGE improvement for me.
it takes a little while to get used to ofc, but the buttons just feel better and it's a lot more comfortable to hold. (less strain on the wrists and fingers!)
i've had mine since late 2021, and it hasn't started drifting yet. the sticks did start deteriorating, but i bought some thumb grips that have held up pretty well. (i highly recommend getting thumb grips too! some decent ones that have a proper "dip" for your thumb to rest in, not just decorative ones. but ultimately, it's up to you.)
