I went to their concert last night, and they did this song!! Mitch introduced it as the very first Christmas video they ever filmed, so the throw back of all throw backs! It's what solidified their place in the Christmas genre. It was incredible, too, sounded so fantastic live. Different, obviously, with Matt instead of Avi, and how all their voices have matured over time. But so perfect!

With PTX you get the nostalgia with a twist. One of their originals that has become a classic at my house is That’s Christmas to Me. A great song, written by Kevin. It made me laugh when I heard Mitch say how nervous they all were singing it the 1st time…KO had an idea in his head of how it should be performed! I think they lived up to his expectations😊

PTX gives old songs a new synergy that's almost undefinable.
This isn't my favorite Christmas carol, but the PTX version is my favorite of the versions I've heard. Definitely an upgrade!
Ever notice how whatever cover they do of a song is almost always the best version of that song you've ever heard? They do that so consistently, ESPECIALLY with Christmas songs. It speaks to how well the songs are arranged, it really is something.
While you are doing Pentatonix Christmas, you should do one of their originals -- "That's Christmas to Me", "Thank You".
Definitely... especially since he wanted to see videos that had a "Christmas" feel to them. That's the case in both of these, especially "That's Christmas to Me". And both are originals, not covers of older Christmas songs.

I always struggled with Christmas music. I grew up in a cult that did not celebrate Christmas. So we didn't have anything to do with Christmas music. So when I got out of the cult and started celebrating Christmas the music just never sat well. I had heard it so many times and even sang in the praise band Church we would have Christmas concerts etc. But I still just didn't enjoy the music except for a couple well-known ones. And then I heard Pentatonix doing Christmas music. It changed my entire outlook on Christmas songs. Now the only Christmas songs that I play are from Pentatonix and I absolutely love them! ❤️😁
This was one of their earlier videos when they were still figuring out how to create a video. Since then, their production quality has gotten really good, but they don't go all out on ALL of their videos. For the MOST Chistmassy video, I think it has to be "The Prayer" and I wouldn't necessarily consider that to be a Christmas song technically. Nevertheless, it is absolutely BREATHTAKING.

I discovered PTX, when I discovered TH-cam, in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. I grudgingly gave their Xmas music a chance because it was so prevalent and I had loved everything else of theirs I'd heard. After deliberately avoiding holiday music for *DECADES* like you I found it amazing what they manage to accomplish 1) with just their voices 2) while staying true to the original 3) using simple changes and their own creativity. Now PTX is the only holiday music I play. Good thing they have so much to choose from! Hopefully their originals become the new holiday standards. Soon. Really enjoy your reactions, so keep 'em coming!

Great reaction. PTX is the only current group I will to Christmas music from. Avi (bass) jumping from higher register from him to being that low constant. Scott and the harmonies with everyone from him were great. Excellent reaction.

Glad they made a believer out of you re: Christmas music. I only listen to PTX Christmas music, when I listen to modernized Christmas music. I still like Bing Crosby and Perry Como though....hahaha. Their live rendition of this song and other holiday songs are recorded during the holiday concerts and have more of a holiday setting.

This was the first video I ever saw by Pentatonix in November 2013 and I became an instant pentaholic even though I didn't even know what it was yet! I want to ask you to react to kid on Christmas featuring Meghan Trainor it's an original buy a believe Scott and Matt and Kevin and then they just released this week the Christmas song last Christmas featuring Hikien and Likien oh by the way there's a beatbox battle in the middle of it

Please react to Avi's solo music. He's the bass line but here you notice he's doing the bass but singing in a different octave too. Has a 5 octave range which he does very well
