One of best thing about this video, in my opinion, is that they almost didn’t do it. Scott said the reception they got from it actually helped decided them to start doing Christmas music. Can you imagine Christmas without Pentatonix? 🤯 oh and they are on a hill near Griffith Observatory. That’s downtown L.A. in the background.

This was filmed at the top of Runyon Canyon (a very popular hike in Hollywood) and the tall buildings in the distance over their right shoulders is Century City (adjacent to Beverly Hills)...the skyline for downtown Los Angeles is way off to the left along with a glimpse of the Hollywood Sign. I played fetch with my dog in that clearing countless times.

“MAvi-lous” - I see what you did there 😂. Not Christmas, but I highly recommend their original Love Again. It’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥- Kevin is unreal and Mitch 🤯. Also their Popspring 2016- all live, 3 originals and Evolution of Michael Jackson. Unbelievable as PTX usually is. ❤💚

@highlyreactive7708 it's gorgeous, live and was completely unplanned. They were on tour, in Germany and looking at a gorgeous old church. The acoustics are phenomenal. The 5 of them are so very relaxed, I mean, Kirstie is literally leaning against a wall with her eyes closed. I will occasionally put the song on repeat throughout the year. Seriously, pentaholics listen to PTX Christmas music all year long.

I do vote for You're A Mean One Mister Grinch, Matt kills it in the lead and you can see Scott's bass skills. I also like to recommend "Carol Of The Bells", Last Christmas" and "12 Days of Christmas"... Kevin slays in all of them. Plus you get to hear the vocal gymnastics of the Trio.

I would recommend you react to 2 of Avi's original solo works, recorded 10 years after this "Little Drummer Boy" video. His solo work is amazing. The first one I suggest is the Sunset Sound Studio live version of "When I'm a Fool", backed by some of the best studio musicians in Los Angeles; and then for contrast to show his style & genre versatility, the live cover of "All Is Well" 7 Layers Sessions version, shot in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands during his 2022 European tour. I'd give you the links, but YT doesn't seem to like for commenters to do that.
I agree. Avi's music is fantastic. Not only is Avi's voice stellar, but his songwriting/composing skills are outstanding!

PTX are all multi-talented ...Scott is a very accomplished pianist , songwriter, arranger and has put together a kids acapella group and a wonderful all female group called Citizen Queen ( check out their version of 'Never Enough' , I promise you'll be blown away !) , he also collaborates with some exceptional singers in a version of Katy Perry's 'Rise' and matched a segment of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack to the film Inception with KP's song 'Lost On You' & delivered an exceptional duet with Mario Jose , another brilliant vocalist who worked with them in the background on tours . Kevin is just a musical phenomenon , he sings, writes ( co-wrote 'Please Santa Please' with Kirsten and another original 'A Little Space ' that they sing with K-Pop singers from Ateez ) plays several instruments including cello, saxophone & piano , Matt has an insane vocal range & also plays drums , and apart from having THAT voice , Mitch also plays keyboards . Avi is out there writing & performing his own material and plays guitar .
As you're both big fans of Kevin and Avi in this song , I'm hoping you'll react to 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful ' Kevin's arrangement & brilliant beatboxing along with Avi's incredibly deep vocals & percussion make this old , usually church sung carol sound spectacular 😲

Skipping past The Sing-Off and starting with their studio-recorded music, this was the first music video they produced that showed the belting power in Kirstin's voice. The first time I heard it, I thought "Finally!" because everyone else had had their signature moment several times up to that point.

I could be wrong, but I think I read that Kevin's Mom speaks Xhosi, which is a vocal click-based language. I have no clue where I read it, but it could explain wht he can so easily make these drum sounds.❤❤
