John Fahey - Live At The New Varsity 1982

This 1980s john Fahey concert always gave me a vibe that is something between Twin Peaks and a Bukowski novel, I wanted to compliment that mood so I put all of the individual videos together, played a bit with the transitions, and added some extra random footage that in my opinion enhanced the overall mood. I wasn't sure in which order the songs are at first, but thanks to John's sweat stain on his shirt getting bigger as the show goes on, I could eventually figure it out

Thanks for this. I used to see Fahey at the Jabberwock in Berkeley, between '64 - '68. I was a budding guitarist, and John forever placed his stamp on me. I love the way he can play real slow, as in "The World Is Waiting ...". Back then he didn't mix the whiskey and coke before he went on stage. Just came out with a bottle of whiskey and a large glass of coke. A swig of whiskey, then a swig of coke! A mesmerizing guitarist and composer.

@@trashbirdie I'm just getting to know Fahey's work, but from what I've learned, he listened and studied Brazilian music. As a Brazilian, it would be a shame not to honor the music of this magnificent guitarist Baden Powell. Thank you for the music and for your attention, my friend.

@@daniel108pc Fahey was a fan and a supporter of Bola Sete, my other favorite Brazilian guitarist - though Baden edges him out just a trifle. Fahey also put out at least one Bola Sete album.
