Hi there! You can use it directly into the hmi but i usually move the io values to a gvl

Hi Leandro. Props on the video! I wonder if it is possible to import a variable table from Excel to a GVL on Machine Expert. Coul you help meu out. Is there a way to do it with Excel or any other program?

Hi Vander! Manually create variables online it is not possible. Offline you can use the xml to import variables you can check the syntax when you export/import a file:

I usually use the method in the video, in the past i had an excel to easily create variable name plus the syntax…i do not where that excel is 😅

Thanks for posting these videos! This is my first foray into Machine Expert and these are quite helpful. One question...when using a GVL to map a variable to an IO point...is the status of that IO point still accessible externally via the non-symbolic address? (Ie, %IX.0.0) The reason I ask is I'm using a 3rd party HMI and I don't believe that symbolic addressing is supported by the communication protocol, so I will need to set that up via non-symbolic addressing.

Hi Rob! If I am not wrong you can assign the variables of the IO to a variable in a GVL. You will see that the address of the IO is disable. Then (this is the part that i am not 100% sure) you can give an address to the variable in the GVL then you can use that address in the HMI. I recommend you to check the next video to understand how the memory work in the plc:
