And thats a shame given that Forza has done a phenomenal job with car sounds in their older games. Take a listen to the 918 in FM6. What happened since then? Surely they have better audio equipment since Forza Motorsport 6. TDLR: Shut the hell up bozo.
I ended up having both consoles. I tried Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo 7 essentially side-by-side. It's not even close. On paper, Forza Motorsport should look much better and perform better - but it's actually laughably bad. Someone else mentioned colors being washed out and I agree. The models look cheap and have very little detail. Cars handle like bricks. Campaign is dry and lacks inspiration. Definitely glad I played it on GamePass! Gran Turismo 7 just sings quality when you boot it up. It's remarkable that they were able to squeeze so much good out of the PS5 for this title.
GT7 looks like it's using Vas on the lens to cast everything that is shiny in a blurred glow, which is lovely for those whose favourite genre is the romantic films of the 1920s.
Great comparison! Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo 7 both offer unique experiences with the Porsche 918 Spyder. It's fascinating to see how each game handles the iconic car. Looking forward to your insights!
Not bad just looks better on GT. Reason may be the darker track on GT therefore car just pops out with being grey. Interiors I prefer for a but just lighter than GT don’t think it has more detail. Both do look great tho
one thing I really don't like in FM8 is the paint. Why does this 918 silver colour looks like its glossy grey? almost like a nardo grey or some sort in certain lighting. The metallic doesn't shine well and in some cases certain metallic or gloss paint looks like its a matte finish
I prefer the lack of detail on Forza's car scanning, the greyish tint to everything and lack of colour. The incorrect tree and folage types that just happen to have accidentally been put in the wrong places to cover up the long distance views as it can't compute it. This also helps me loose all the correct braking markers both in real life and in any other simulation... 🤔 Oops I lied, GT7 hands down, built 2 years before and had to be last gen compatible. BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP MY ASS! Imagine what Polyphony could do if catering only for the ps5. And then we have the psvr2 version. Even every single cable tie inside the cab placed perfectly. These comparisons are getting pointless, as there simply is no comparison. As i am sure the record low 400 steam users have found out🤔
I still don't understand the people who say FM tracks are better, I bet they never watched a single footage of any of the real onboard tracks, and then there are the type of people who say vegetation is worthless in racing games when they are literally often used for brake markers, the Jungle that is called Circuit de la Sarthe in FM looks horrible
Get all of your beef from digital foundry? Anyway, imagine making an utterly stupid statement about putting trees in the wrong place because the xbox cant compute. 😂😂😂😂you do realise that adding in more assets uses more memory than not? So if they removed that foliage, extra memory is freed up. 😂😂😂
@@nihilityjoey if you have been in gt7 in VR and walked the track you would realise that those long distance views include ASSETS so yes blocking them with the same asset over and over is easier to compute. GT7 is a 2 year older game and caters for last gen, there is no excuse for Forza being a step backwards, only a recluse themselves would think there is any excuse or would try making them
The colors in Forza look washed out. Also, the detail in the cars in GT7 is pretty impressive. The cars in Forza look like paintings while the cars in GT7 look like a photo.
You can make the colors / shadows / shading etc. in Forza Motorsport (or any game) look just as rich as those in GT7 / PS5 by using the "Digital Vibrance" slider in the NVidia control panel.
Gran tourismo is the obvious winner for realism but these racing games really need to move away from a static centered vehicle, reminds me of the old pole position game. It’s time to make the car fluid and moving with the terrain.
The car model is a little better in gt but the actual graphics looking at the whole environment really shows forza’s graphical prowess, theres no comparison the crisp detail is the environment dwarfs the blurry gt envirorment
What's dope, is that in GT7 they down res the graphics during gameplay, but upres during the model viewing. That's sneaky. Forza definitely needs to steal that lighting engine from GT7. It makes up for the graphics and details. If you look around the Forza track, it's far more lively, detailed, and looks lived. GT7 track looks like it was built yesterday brand new, vegetation didn't grow yet and just not a lot of life. The steering wheel is the most obvious hit to the graphics as you can literally see a drop in polygons. But the superior light engine makes the driver gloves look very photo realistic. Forza lighting looks custom, and honestly never has simulated reality, except in Horizon. GT7 and all Gran Turismo games still look like the cars are floating. I also prefer the colors on GT7, very rich and deep. Obviously no clear winner. If Forza had that light engine it'd be the clear visual winner. Visually they're a draw.
So basically its identifical except GT7 cockpit camera is way more realistic and the sound in cockpit sounds literally like real life where as FM cockpit sounds like a videogame the exhaust sounds too robotic.
To all the console kids discussing very limited console graphics here: Play Forza on a 4090 with RT and an OLED screen with more than 1000 Nits HDR peak brightness, and there is no comparison to be made. Forza gains a huge quality boost with a good setup because of its very good optimizations for PC and great HDR implementation, which solve the graphical issues you complain about.
People who say the sounds are good on GT have hearing problems or? It seems like we have noise-canceling headphones on our heads which greatly attenuate the engine sound. I remind you that the camera is behind the car, not inside the car or a motorcycle helmet (to image)
@@johnm3907 I don't know about that to be honest, but I think most of the cars have actual sound recordings, I don't really know about newer cars since I've sold my PS for a PC a few months ago and haven't been able to play

Both games are good looking and can be a ton of fun for a simcade since none of these are real simulators. As for the pure graphics there’s a lot that can be subject to personal preference but I terms of technology alone Forza is more advanced, there’s no doubt about.
I tried FM and Horizon on my gaming pc after playing gt7 with a wheel. FM vs GT7 is like chalk and cheese, GT7 is way more fun and the game looks so much better! Horizon is fun but all cars feel the same and doing random weird things got pretty old.
Although I prefer Gt7 in story the camera angle is rubbish and while the visuals look great I prefer Forza's graphics more simply because it looks more realistic ( just my opinion)
Forza looks better to me. GT7 has this “sterile” look to it. And the sense of speed is subpar. Those are actually complaints I had about FM7 but that sterile appearance is gone with the newest entry.
FM 8 looks worse the track surface is blurry, the treeline looks significantly better fairplay however the cars look washed out and very low quality espescially in the indoor garage shots WHERE THE MOST EMPHASIS SHOULD BE ON RENDERING THE CAR NATIVE RES WITH RT TO LOOK GOOD... but no, poor reflections the window reflections are the definition of a butter knife and the wheels borderline look 2D they are so low quality. The wingmirror in external view is just a white fog on FM while on GT7 it has the background, the cars paint is a glossy metallic so you can see track reflections bounce off it Curbs grass etc in GT7. Forza again.... just a white blur. We were promised a from the ground up next gen only experience and not only does it not compare to a game you can play on last gen hardware (GT7 on PS4) it is just a marginal step from FM7 which was released specifcally for the Xbox one and One x. Shameful waste of 6 years in development I genuninely wonder what went wrong. I LITERALLY PLAY ON PC WHERE THE QUALITY SHOULD BE INSANE AT 1440P MAX SETTINGS, but no even with RT enabled all the latest drivers etc still pretty unenjoyable. I have only had GT Sport and GT7 yet i've had every Forza horizon and Every FM after FM4 and loved them all this game is ebola.
I agree but gt should change that static camera behind the car and inplement that punish system that forza has. Clean race bonus is a joke - mostly because ai is stupid. For me fm7 looks less lively Than gt7, but the car models in fm7 are much better. For instance in the first clips of the vid you can see how the cars sit on the suspension. The 918 is Gt7 sits much higher, and the tires don’t even looking round if you look close enough. The shape of gt7’s cars look a bit small or shorter than they do in really. A lot of this has to do with the camera placement and movement which it my favorite above any other racing game. Most racing sims don’t care to capture the livid feel that forza does, instead they are stiff like in gt7.
GT7 looks almost cartoonish with the oversaturation, meanwhile FM looks kinda bleak but more realistic colors. GT7 has one of the worst chase cams in racing games, FM chase cam is great. GT7 cockpit cam is vastly superior to FM cockpit cam. Sounds are both ok at best, i might give thw sound to FM but it could go either way. I play both games, while i grew up playing Forza exclusively and am slightly biased to the way the game plays, GT7 has been an immensely better game overall. Forza looks better and drives better (IMO), but in nearly every other category GT7 beats FM. FM is just so boring, and that pains me as a longtime fan of the series. I'll be spending 90% of my time on GT7 until FM gets Nordschleife (which is insane its not already in the game) but with the current state of FM not even my favorite track being added is enough to keep me intrested for very long.
Forza players would download GT if it was an option on STEAM. With that being said, playing FM on a high end PC with RT and Ultra settings at 90fps is chefs kiss for me.
Forza definitely looks more better realism wise. The difference is a 10bit hdr video vs 8 bit hdr video. Gt7 looks more color boosted to compensate something and in turn in 2024 it looks like a mobile game with over high graphics

And thats a shame given that Forza has done a phenomenal job with car sounds in their older games. Take a listen to the 918 in FM6. What happened since then? Surely they have better audio equipment since Forza Motorsport 6.
TDLR: Shut the hell up bozo.
They are the same cars. I don’t believe i have to clear this out.
Same, I tried so had to get into forza ms but having played gt7 first it just highlighted all the flaws of forza even more.
thats surprizing, I have had the totaly opposite experience, what pc specs are you using?
@@allaydesign5740 he said consoles, so he's probably not on PC

GT7 looks like it's using Vas on the lens to cast everything that is shiny in a blurred glow, which is lovely for those whose favourite genre is the romantic films of the 1920s.
😂😂😂
as a Forza player the worst thing that kills the realistic looking graphics is the lack of shadowy dark detail in areas where light is hard to reach
grand turdismo 7 looks like doom 3. It’s almost pitch black where the sun doesn’t shine and that has nothing tondo with realism. It’s like an anime.
one thing i really dont like about gt7 is the stiff ahh camera, is there an option to make the camera feel smooth?
Yh there is but not many ppl rly know abt it its in display settings all the way at the bottom
I still remember where i bought Gran Turismo 1 and I'm still a big fan, but Forza's graphics are hard to top.
They both look amazing but Forza Motorsport looks more like current gen with overall graphics and more realistic
Read top comments almost everyone thinks differently isn’t that strange because your right?
y'all not gonna realize that this video is also 9:18 minutes?

Great comparison! Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo 7 both offer unique experiences with the Porsche 918 Spyder. It's fascinating to see how each game handles the iconic car. Looking forward to your insights!
Both look good but GT7 edges out F8 for me. Just the lighting looks better. If this were an ad I believe most would point to GT7 footage as real
In GT7 rear spoiler don't work? 🤔
also unclear
Wow! This Car looks bad in Forza. Looks much better on GT7.
Not bad just looks better on GT. Reason may be the darker track on GT therefore car just pops out with being grey. Interiors I prefer for a but just lighter than GT don’t think it has more detail. Both do look great tho
Forza sucks 👎🏿💩
@@I_hate_you_Forza_motorsportGran Turismo sucks

one thing I really don't like in FM8 is the paint. Why does this 918 silver colour looks like its glossy grey? almost like a nardo grey or some sort in certain lighting. The metallic doesn't shine well and in some cases certain metallic or gloss paint looks like its a matte finish
O backfire do Forza parece bombinhas de festa junina.
GT7 is a 2 year older game and caters for last gen, there is no excuse for Forza being a step backwards, only a recluse themselves would think there is any excuse or would try making them
@@clacky78You have no clue what you are saying. You really don't.
@@nihilityjoey u can watch the digital foundry video comparing both games
The colors in Forza look washed out. Also, the detail in the cars in GT7 is pretty impressive. The cars in Forza look like paintings while the cars in GT7 look like a photo.
atleast the game looks closer than gt7 to real life the graphics on forza are more realictc on gt7 the game colours dont match with real life colours
As long as Forza maintains the rewind it will be inferior to GT7.
You can turn it off
no one is forcing you to use it
Nice work man
Thank you! Cheers!
Gran Turismo 7
huh the forza chase cam isnt as jumpy as before.... how do you change camera settings?
The car model is a little better in gt but the actual graphics looking at the whole environment really shows forza’s graphical prowess, theres no comparison the crisp detail is the environment dwarfs the blurry gt envirorment
G t7 is awesome.

Gt7 💩💩💩
Forza needs GT7 lighting and GT7 needs Forza graphics.
Gt7 needs forza all round they’d sell heaps more copy’s if it was literally just forza Motorsport 🤷♂️
FM is great fun on Ultrawide PC, only thing is Replays aren't brilliant with weird camera angles.

Forza looks like a toy.
To all the console kids discussing very limited console graphics here:
Play Forza on a 4090 with RT and an OLED screen with more than 1000 Nits HDR peak brightness, and there is no comparison to be made. Forza gains a huge quality boost with a good setup because of its very good optimizations for PC and great HDR implementation, which solve the graphical issues you complain about.
I'm a Hard Player of GT7 but after having seen this video it is mandatory for me to get also FM.
Gt7 best..
GT Is The real drive simulator!!!
People who say the sounds are good on GT have hearing problems or? It seems like we have noise-canceling headphones on our heads which greatly attenuate the engine sound. I remind you that the camera is behind the car, not inside the car or a motorcycle helmet (to image)
Gt sounds like an actual engine recording. the forza one sounds like an engine noise made from scratch on a computer.
@@johnm3907that's because they're all actual engine recordings put into the game, it's amazing the level of detail they put into these cars
@ElFabiancitoUwU I'm not sure they do that for all the cars though. Vtec crossover isn't modeled in the game.
@@johnm3907 I don't know about that to be honest, but I think most of the cars have actual sound recordings, I don't really know about newer cars since I've sold my PS for a PC a few months ago and haven't been able to play
Camera use karte ho ya screen recording..?
Gt7 definitely looks more realistic 100% and attention to detail is amazing!!
good vidoe: we can see clearly that "graphics doesnt matter" if physycs are wrong. GT7 is great
I've always wanted a twisted metal game with Gran Turismo physics and graphics.
Gran Turismo looks & feel more premium
It's just because of the oversaturation of the colors and that takes away a bit of its realism.
@@lesoj2you can tune it down until it suit your preferences in game settings.
Even in the rain?
It's ridiculous how much better gt7 is
In what field haptic feedback 😂
Only played Forza and dont have any playtime on GT but the sense of speed looks better on Forza. Its up to personal taste to which is better.
@@mrsneaking the sense of Speed in gran turismo 7 Is the MOST realistic, literraly, its the same of the real Life, in forza Motorsport all seems to fast, in real Life It seems you are not moving when going at 200kmh, in gt7 It feels the same, so gt7 sense of Speed Is the best

I don't think so Forza speed is much better plus they kick ass in their visuals

Forza's models and scenery look like toys!
Both are amazing.
FM has 'motion-blur' setting on by default. Just turn it off.
Gran turismo 7 Is Better than fm8, but that steering wheel animation in gt7 Is so bad

GT7 > Forza. FORZA is like kid toy 😂.
GT7 is a driver toy.
GT7 looks and feels next gen.
In my opinion, FM is better. I prefer the graphics, sound and sense of speed.
Gt7 > Forza Motorsport
I agree but gt should change that static camera behind the car and inplement that punish system that forza has. Clean race bonus is a joke - mostly because ai is stupid. If forza would make batter cars models and add non static camera behind the wheel - then I would play it from time to time - but it is never going to happen

How did Forza & GT go from competing in graphics to Forza looking like it's on last gen?
For me fm7 looks less lively Than gt7, but the car models in fm7 are much better. For instance in the first clips of the vid you can see how the cars sit on the suspension. The 918 is Gt7 sits much higher, and the tires don’t even looking round if you look close enough. The shape of gt7’s cars look a bit small or shorter than they do in really. A lot of this has to do with the camera placement and movement which it my favorite above any other racing game. Most racing sims don’t care to capture the livid feel that forza does, instead they are stiff like in gt7.
¿? A qué viene eso?
Whoever was the dude that said crew motor fest that's a Arcadey racing game
Forza wins, hands down. Looks better. Sounds better.
He has good physiques but he doesn't look better at all, it's more his Achilles heel
Gran turismo es realismo.
Gran Turismo is a whole lot better in almost every respect
The only issue I have with GT7 is the lack of the sense of speed as it is better Forza.
Is no one going to mention that the active spoiler movement is completely absent in GT7?
One of them has a wrong wing work... But what?
The GT7 graphics and sound are much better.
gran turismo looks better
U can make GTs chase cam like forzas. But I prefer GTs chase cam because it more accurate and improves driving
Also gt sounds are more Accurate when compared to real live, especially on replays
GT fan here but the main difference is that Forza has a much faster sense of speed.
I prefer Forza everything except sounds. The GT sounds are infinitely better, almost every engine in Forza sounds the same.
Forza motorsport always better than GT, not to mention Forza horizon.
Forza series is miles ahead of ANY other racing game nowadays, no doubt
Look at the active aero not working in gt7. This show how terrible it is in terms of car details compared to Forza Mptorsport.
Who else thinks about the Carrera GT when they see this car?
Forza. Sound is better, Graphucs looks more realistic. Drive Physiks also look better at forza.
Forza players would download GT if it was an option on STEAM. With that being said, playing FM on a high end PC with RT and Ultra settings at 90fps is chefs kiss for me.
Gt7 looks slower is it running at 60 fps?
I only play in-car camera => Forza 👍
GT7 918 Sound is the closest in all games I've seen.
Gran Turismo is way better but 7:16 is incredible
Forza definitely looks more better realism wise.
The difference is a 10bit hdr video vs 8 bit hdr video.
Gt7 looks more color boosted to compensate something and in turn in 2024 it looks like a mobile game with over high graphics
On the PC it's super easy to boost the FM's color to GT7 levels -- by increasing the 'Digital vibrance' slider in the NVidia control panel.
GT is incredible series, it's just better racing game because it have the best mechanics
GT7 camera move like DYNO TEST
