Thanks so much for this videos. being an experienced driver in another country, i totally relied on your videos for currie routes. i literally passed my test on first attempt, helped me understand the area around currie so much. Thanks Again :)
Thank you so much for your time and effort with these videos!! Due to covid I've found it impossible to get an instructor so family have been taking me out to practice. I've watched all of your videos multiple times and watched this one this morning prior to my test as a refresh. I passed my test the first time!! So thank you again 💛
What a result Stephanie, absolutely amazing to hear how well you have done. I’m really glad they helped. Hopefully you can celebrate your success this evening. Enjoy the new license.
Your videos helped me so much! After an embarrassing amount of attempts at the test centre in Dunfermline, I managed to pass in Currie! These videos are amazing for knowing any tricky bits that may come up
Hi Angus, see at 34:40… if you were in your test (let’s just say if you continued further down the road) and you and the other car in front are right next to each other, so nobody could move. What would you do in that scenario? Would you reverse back to let him through? Or would the person have to reverse back to let you through, bearing in mind you have the right of way. My question is what would you do if you were in your test ?
Great question, it would be awkward. The examiner would see what had happened and would know that you hadn’t gone in at an inappropriate time so they wouldn’t blame you for it. One of you will have to reverse until you get to a suitable place to pass each other. I would expect the examiner would actually help you and guide you through what to do. Things like that do happen every now and then in driving tests and as long as your original judgment of going was correct then you have nothing to worry about.
@@AngusDriving That answers my question. Thanks a lot Angus for your videos. I believe I’m not just speaking for myself - I really do appreciate you taking time to create these videos for people wanting to nail their driving test. Take care 👍🏼
Passed on this exact route today and I can't thank you enough for the advice as without it today could have been a different story. You deserve all the positive feedback!
Thanks Eric, that’s great news you have passed today well done. Really good to hear that the videos helped you. Enjoy your new freedom! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Congratulations Scott, sounds like a really good drive. 0 faults is amazing. Thanks for taking the time to comment and I’m really glad you found the videos helpful. Enjoy the new license.
Hi angus. At the blind summit on the hill 20:30 would that be an appropriate place to use the cars horn to alert others of your presence, would you be marked down in a test for doing so?
Great question, some instructors get people to do that. I’ve never got anyone to do it. My thinking is I’m not 100% sure someone coming the other way in their car with possibly music/car radio on will actually hear it. I’ve never had any examiner mention that people should have used their horn either. Hope that helps.
Another great video Angus. My pupils and I find them very beneficial. Ref the cycle lanes on the RBS road. I think it's to show that, as a motorist, we are encroaching on their space, not the other way around. As on Meadow Place Road.
Thanks Brian, really good to hear your pupils find the videos helpful. Yeah that sounds good about the cycle lanes, I completely understand how people on their driving test when nervous sometimes get confused and stay out the ones heading down towards RBS. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I will no doubt see you soon. 👍🏼
Thanks for leaving a comment Vienna, really glad to hear that you found the videos helpful. Well done passing last week, sounds like you did really well.
wow thanks a lot. Had my test today and i passed looked at this video last night and was really unfamiliar with this route. got this exact route today and that was so nice specially for the small slip road, i also had to stop and wait and if i didn't know about the slip road beforehand it would be an unfortunate surprise and hard to react.
Hi John, yeah unfortunately as it has a solid line around it you aren’t supposed to cross it, so yes usually you would fail if you enter it. You will see a lot of other cars driving through it. Even if it had a broken line around it you would still want to go around it as thats the way the road has been set out. Thanks for the question. Good luck with the driving 👍🏼.
Hi David, thanks for leaving a comment. Yeah it’s okay to wave to say thank you. What the examiner won’t want you to do is wave someone out of a junction or across the road. Hopefully that makes sense.
Yeah good question, the signs have gone so as far as you know from pulling out the junction at 22:11 until 22:41 (there is a 50mph sign on the right there) you would assume it is still national speed limit which would be 60mph for a car as there are no signs repeating a speed and no street lights. The examiner will have to speak up and tell you it’s a 50mph or just ignore it until you get to the 50mph sign. I’ve not had any problems there. I hope that all makes sense
Hi yeah as long as the car fully stops then you are okay. Some people like to put the handbrake on just to keep them right. I’ve not had a problem with people just stopping then going though.

your videos are amazing and thankyou
16:00 hi Angus, would you fail your test if you went into the white zagged lines or is that a minor?
Hi John, yeah unfortunately as it has a solid line around it you aren’t supposed to cross it, so yes usually you would fail if you enter it. You will see a lot of other cars driving through it. Even if it had a broken line around it you would still want to go around it as thats the way the road has been set out. Thanks for the question. Good luck with the driving 👍🏼.
Excellent
good stuff, is it ok to wave(say thanks) when your doing your test.
Hi David, thanks for leaving a comment. Yeah it’s okay to wave to say thank you. What the examiner won’t want you to do is wave someone out of a junction or across the road. Hopefully that makes sense.
I wish i could have my mock test with you before my driving test
Thank you very much its very helpful
You are welcome
Cheers man! Do you do lessons?
Thanks for the comment. I do lessons yes, on the Southside of Edinburgh.
At 22:34 How do you tell that the road is 50mph?
Yeah good question, the signs have gone so as far as you know from pulling out the junction at 22:11 until 22:41 (there is a 50mph sign on the right there) you would assume it is still national speed limit which would be 60mph for a car as there are no signs repeating a speed and no street lights.

AT THE STOP JUNCTION YOU DIDNT PUT YOUR HANDBRAKE ON IS THAT OK ON A TEST ?
Hi yeah as long as the car fully stops then you are okay. Some people like to put the handbrake on just to keep them right. I’ve not had a problem with people just stopping then going though.
