  • All right folks. Here's the latest knowledge of the big 2 stroke engine geometries that I have now. This new video features a somewhat new geometry that is showing itself to the MB scene. CR Machine can offer top end kits for all the big engine geometries. This video will help you find out what kind of engine you actually have. With this knowledge, you will be able to purchase the correct top end kit for your engine.

    Thanks for taking the time and offering some clarity on the various engine geometrics. Your nomenclature is sensible and straight forward.

    Just got one today . It's advertised as 100cc with high compression head from eBay.
    Took it apart and I' can't say how much happy I am for the hours I've spent watching these videos. So I found one transfer port nearly 3/4 coded by an actual peicthat was cut from the jug or sleeve and the other ports had lips for the size of the hole I'd say them lips was pritty big.
    So my motor has a rod AE80 that bronze colour metal

    Thank you.I'd never done anything with a 2-cycle except trimmers,and that was clean carbs and adjust.New engine was given 2 month ago and I saw casting peaks along the inner edge,against the cylinder surface,of the intake so I took it apart.Good thing as 1 of the ports also had quite a bit there too and would've broken off into the cylinder eventually.Anywho..I was able to see these things you're describing, and know what I have.I now know what to expect,and what I can,and cannot do to maintain or enhance.(I do want to get your 55 later)Thank you again for your complete explanations of connecting rods,pistons,and the cylinder heads and volumes.

    Is that normal? Did the wrong piston come from factory? I have the low hole piston.

    Is the ZAE80 a 38 or 40 stroke? I can find an original wildcat pk80 with that no mark rod think I might order it, but idk might get me a new kit. Old one lasted 7,500m getting a Rebuilt on it and is my tester motor.

    Thanks Fred, you always do a great job in your explanations and they're very helpful.
    This was the first O habe seen of the "A-80" engine and I also didnt know we had a "PK80" out there now that has a Z-L marked rod that actually has a caged lower bearing.
    All I have had or seen have had the loose pin bearing on the lower journal.
    I ordered two cranks from MZmiami last year and both are 40mm stroke Z-L marked with the loose pins on bottom.
    haven't used one in an engine yet, should I use these type Fred or am I just looking for potential failure with the loose pin cranks?

    Dear, Frederic Chelminski, I've looked at my engine finally after a year to figure out what it is, it has the con rod from the A-80, so 40mm stroke. ( the Z-L, gray, and it has the counter sunk oiling holes that are not centered.) But it has a type A piston, does this just mean I have a normal pk80 engine? Or is it some kind of A-80 Pk80 half breed. BTW it was a flying horse bought from bike berry.

      I just purchased the Engine FH-BEK 80 from Bike Berry. From all this I've figured it to Be the PK with the Z-L Rod and Type A piston. Bike Berry calls the Piston a Number 4 but it has 2 stamped on the Crown. Top end of rod is Caged Bearing and boy are they a loose fit. I suppose you have a Top end that would work on this Fred ?

    I have a pk80, I put bad oil in it and now its dickered, and there is evidence of combustion within the crankcase, I think it happened because the stock exhaust has way too much backpressure.

    You should make a new video on all the new engines out race and non racing everything has changed now different strokes different heads that must mean longer rod also the 40 pistons don't fit all engine there's different bore sizes to no matter what engine you buy there never the same anymore internally it's all changed some are being sold as 66cc some 80cc but the new barrels seem to be the same size some have longer rods those ones have a different head.

  • @codelicious6590
    @codelicious6590 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe it's possible that some engines come with the wrong piston type installed! I have a ZAE 80 rod which is not featured in this vid AND the difference in actual con rod length is not specified, nor any specific measurements therefore, I still have no idea which crank I have; it originally had a type A piston but I have measured the stroke and it has a 40mm stroke. So...god who knows.

      It's a 38 mm stroke the rode is a ZAE 80 it's all about setting your rings right when you take off your cylinder you will notice metal bands on your piston those help keep gas and vapors from looking out the NGK spark plug is what you want with some Opti 2 oil it always has a ballenced crank it's a really good engine

      Thanks! good to know. In your experience how does the GT 5 compared to the triple 40. I ordered a triple 40 months ago, got tired of waiting so I ordered the gt5. Just got word that the triple 40 is coming in a couple days. Trying to figure out which engine I should use. although I'm going to keep them both. I have two four stroke builds but I'm a newbie when it comes to two-strokes bicycle engines. I'm still working on my first build.

    • @davidwatman6669
      @davidwatman6669 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The triple 40 is a better engine for sure. Especially if you bought it from Zeda motorsports their port work is great. The intake and exhaust ports are tiny on the gt5 and more restrictive compared the triple 40. FYI you can interchange the cylinder jugs with these 2 engines only, They have the same port map.
