ShelbyFlyer... Thank you for the behind the scenes of the repairs. That was a major repair, was that covered under warrenty? Can you explained to us what happened to the transmission? You provided fluid changes and performed route maintence. The failure of the transmission was caused by.. Track Days / Heat / High Speed Driving / Drag Racing? If you had a manual transmission car, would this been prevented? What is the break in miles for the new transmission?? If you went with an other transmission fluid would that been prevented?? This is scary... only at 9K Miles. Please advise.
It was replaced under warranty. What happened to my original tranny…? Who knows. It just developed a slow leak over time. Break in miles for new tranny…? I called Tremec. They said it is OEM and to go with Ford’s break in info. Ford says 1k miles before track. I assume this is for the engine. I pressed Tremec more. He said they advise people with manual trans to do a 500 mile break in. Use Ford’s fluid in these trans.
Shelby Flyer... Friday I had the 2020 GT500 Transmission Reflashed.. I also told them about checking my engine valve inspection also. They used a Snap-On camera and everything was excellent. I asked the dealership if they could perform a rear axel and trans flush. They could not perform those services due to lack of supplies. Thank you for your videos and technical review of this special car. Just turned 1900K... Harold
Not much footage of this type of process out there. Awesome work! One question though, do you have to take the splitter wickers off for an oil change also? Seems like that panel needs to come off to access the bottom of the engine and trans.
Thanks! You do not have to remove the wickers or closeout panel for oil changes. There is an access door. I have an oil change video here on my channel.
Is your diff temps lower (when tracked) with the wrapped section of your exhaust? I’ve put in put in AOD’s and C6’s laying on the garage floor, which are both significantly heavier than a T-5 or C4. However, when I noticed the shipping weight and size of that Tremec 7sp, that’s on another level. That is one big mutha…that 2.75” exhaust is also significant. I’ll have to keep an eye on my ‘21 CFTP for leaks while it’s still under warranty. 5 years on the drivetrain.
Good thing your car was still under warranty, that would have been en expensive bill. I’m surprised that such an expensive transmission would have a non serviceable seal. Did ford try to give you a hard time because you track your car?
Any update on why/what the leak was not serviceable ? How common is this? For those of us who beat up our cars at the track be concerned about failures, too? Thanks!
While handling CSP 23B18 and 23B25, I’ve just been informed my 2022 GT500 CFTP chassis N0047 has a trans seep in a “non-serviceable area” --transmission runs perfectly-but new Tremec on order and I’m advised to not drive the Shelby until it’s replaced. Mileage is 1,450. Really disappointed with in Ford quality. How Ford can put so much dollars into developing a world class sports car, and then whiff the manufacturing is amazingly perplexing.

They heat up quickly, which requires lower starting pressures. More so than other track tires I’ve used. Once you figure that out, they aren’t too bad.
@@ShelbyFlyer I have a whipple GT and was thinking of going with the AR1, What do you recommend for max pressure before needing to drop pressure. A starting pressure would be different for how hard the cards driven.

bring in the car tomorrow for the transmission flash and check the engine value timing sensor...

The exhaust runs right by the diff and half shafts. I wrapped the pipes to keep heat out of it. I did it early on and never had diff temp issues.
great coverage!!

No issues.
Tremec needs to let folks service these things.
Great vid

Transmission flash? Is that something i should look into?? I bought mine back in 2020, new…
Check with your dealer. You likely have an open recall for your car.
Any update on why/what the leak was not serviceable ? How common is this? For those of us who beat up our cars at the track be concerned about failures, too? Thanks!
No idea why it leaked. Not a common problem. Cooler lines leaking is common. Not the trans itself.
Question: The leak was not fixable? And it was cheaper to completely replace? I assume this was under warranty? Thank you for sharing!!!
The leak was from a “non serviceable area” (not fixable)… warranty swap.
@@ShelbyFlyer I love you man! I bought one in January, new, with your help! THANK YOU!

No, TX.
