I like to think even though Foxglove is a dangerous lady, she's just sitting there, drinking her tea and existing. She's not purposefully going around killing people, people just end up getting killed by inattention or lack of information. She's really sweet otherwise.
I kind of imagined the opposite. She acts really nice and innocent and everyone wonders why she is considered so dangerous until she randomly shows her true colors and is as brutal as the rest of the poisons
I want to imagine all the poisons are serial killers and they just meet up every Saturday at Foxglove's for tea and to casually talk about their murder plans
I love how she gave the most natural poison the most monsterous design, while making the most synthesized, man-made one- polonium- look extremely humanoid.
I didn’t really see what you meant until she changed the mouth to those horrific holes. Like yeah the thought of the poison was terrifying but the design itself captured the horror of it so well that it made me feel a little bit physically ill lmao. Fantastic design, I always love seeing how she pushes herself when it comes to horror designs cause they’re always so effective
Yeah, when she talked about the russian guy, he was dying for around a month, he had like sores all over the inside of his throat and his hair was falling out. But while he was dying, he told all the secrets he knew to the American Government.
LavenderTowne sure has got some interesting things to create as actual people. Never do I really think about stuff like poisonous things to be thought of as if they were people, but here we are now. Honestly, seeing what you come up with is really great LavenderTowne. Foxglove is probably my favorite character design

so, for the arsenic design, it would have been cool to see some green in there since arsenic was used in the 1800s to make this vibrant green dye that was used in dresses and wallpaper. Baby cribs would actually be pushed against said wallpaper and the dye would flake off and if people breathed it, they could die of arsenic poisoning. This color of green was very popular for many things so death by arsenic poisoning was common. Also, since dresses burning and killing the women who wore them was so common, and having said dresses popularly made with the arsenic dye, even if the woman survived, she and the people around her might die from breathing the arsenic fumes that the dress gave off while it was burning. People who worked with arsenic dye on the daily suffered the most horrifying death. They breathed in the fumes and touched it with their hands so they died really often, but because green things were in high demand, it took a really long time for this problem to be fixed. Sometimes, their eyes would turn green. The pupil, iris, and sclera all turned a bright green. Arsenic is actually my favorite poison because of the wide variety it was used and killed people both intentionally and unintentionally.
I was honestly going to mention she didn't do anything with green given how the color is associated with arsenic. Great fleshed out historical info on the poisons!
I like to imagine they are spirits that appear as you die from their poisons, talking to you in soft voices telling you about how you are dying, or simply watching silently.
You've given me the idea of saying something they would tell you. Foxglove:Oh no... you're dying...well... I hope you enjoyed the tea. Arsenic:Oh dear, who's going to take care of your possessions now? Ttx:Just silently staring in sorrow for your demise. Pulonium-210:YOU FOOL,YOU BREATHED IN THE DUST (I've seen this video multiple times, and I always saw foxglove as the kind but kinda menacing character, arsenic is a bit materialistic, ttx has more pity towards living things, and p-210 as an absolute jerk.
@@braydeslaurier5960 I imagine Foxglove with a British accent, along with possibly Arsenic, and TTX is probably mute because they have no mouth, and Polonium I imagine with a really quiet voice that can be ANNOYINGLY loud sometimes.
@@braydeslaurier5960Ttx being silent and just watching in pity makes sense because given that it’s in animals, most deaths caused by TTX would be accidental (as opposed to arsenic and polonium-210, which are near always purposeful deaths.)
Lavender: "they sold it to women in the Elizabethan and Victorian era" Me: oh so they sold it to women so they could kill their husbands (if they've like cheated or they want their money or revenge or something) Lavender: "it was used to remove blemish's and improve their skin" Me: I should've expected that
It was often used by nobles, so they usually had better ways of murdering their spouses. Also, if you want husband-slaying, take a butcher's at the comment about Aqua Tofana. It's quite interesting!
Technically arsenic was sold for another reason in those eras. It was in pigments such as Scheele's green and Paris green (also known as Schweinfurt green, emerald green, or Vienna green) that were used to colour things including clothing and wallpaper
@{𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒮𝒾𝓁𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝑀𝑜𝑜𝓃} idk, maybe its cause of how much its in media like books and movies? its kinda like a mystery mixed with science, in this case at least
I love how she does actually research about the subject or object and doesn’t just go based of one picture Edit: ok I get it a lot of people are like “duh she had to” or something along the lines I’m just pointing it out and there’s facts she talks about that she wouldn’t even really need to know about like when it was invented and things like that.
The most interesting poison (in my opinion) is Aqua Tofana, named after its creator, Giulia Tofana (which is how she was arrested). Tofana was a Sicilian women during the 17th Century. She gave out Aqua Tofana to women who were unsatisfied by their husband. Aqua Tofana was made of Arsenic, Lead, and Belladonna, and was a genius murder poison, due to the fact that it's colorless, odorless and tasteless, so putting 4 to 6 drops of this poison in anything (mainly food and drinks) can confirm a kill. Additionally, Aqua Tofana takes as little as a week for symptoms (from a cold to intense diarrhea and stomach pain) to appear or as long as an entire year, making it look like some sort of disease. Not only that, even when an autopsy is performed, the poison would leave no trace, making it look like that the disease occurred naturally. I imagine Aqua Tofana as a girl who is like a ghost: transparent and smiling (but not levitating). I can also imagine her having a knife, slowly stabbing the victim to death. Additionally, she could have one side of her body look innocent, representing the innocence of Aqua Tofana's first symptom (cold). However, her other side looks devilish and evil (the one holding the knife), which represents the more painful side and also death.
Someone needs to make a tv show out of all the humanized poisons that this artist makes. It could be really interesting like a series of murder mysteries or something.
mildly dissapointed about the lack of green with the arsenic design but i still love the design! ! ! ! arsenic was used as dyes and colourants. factory workers died all the time. one specific one i remember was a woman who's whites of her eyes turned green, she vomited green, said she could only see green, and she died. It was used in clothing, wallpaper, etc. It was incredibly popular because it made such a rich green. Until the clothes they were wearing caused severe injuries and death
I am personally very interested in poison, toxins, and biology. SO I LOVE THIS VIDEO. Also, i think that a themed series of biological anomalies such as rare mushrooms, those parasites that turn bugs into "zombies", and other strange parts of the wonderful world of biology and mycology!
What websites do you frequent (or media in general) for finding out information on more unique things? It’s interesting to read about but idk if theres certain websites that provide more detailed and digestible information.
if you haven’t decide a future career depending on what you said i think you’d enjoy toxicology. You get to study how toxic chemicals effect other living organisms!
dude! When I was younger, my parents gave me a magazine all about animals that could be turned into real zombies. I think it had ladybugs, grasshoppers, wasps, ants, rats, and frogs. Nature is crazy.
Foxglove could be very dangerous as a character because due to her unassuming appearance, far fewer people would know to avoid her by sight alone, at least compared to the others. I’d also imagine that her attitude becomes more sickly sweet in a “I’ve got you where I want you and you can’t do anything” way once she’s managed to poison you at her “innocent” little tea parties or something. That’d be pretty cool.
Lmao imagine a show about all these poisons and how they kill people, I would love to see the foxglove invite a bunch of people to get tea party until everyone slowly dies while she just drinks her tea, the. She looks up and sees everyone dead and is just like “who wants crumpets!” I would pay for a show like that XD
These designs are SO cool what the heck???? I especially like the arsenic and polonium-210 designs. I could be mistaken, but I think I remember hearing that foxglove either is or was used in heart medication at one time, in very controlled doses, whereas just ingesting the flower would either be a death sentence or a very bad time.
I believe it was also used as a drug, in small doses, it’s terrifying how 2 grams of fresh leaves and .5 grams of dried can kill a grown man. But yes it was used medically for a while.
If I recall correctly, skullcap and belladonna can be used the same way. (: In small controlled doses, it can be used to trick the nervous system into sort of relaxing. CONTROLLED being the operative word; please don't go out and eat belladonna or skullcap k thanks.
I like to think Arsenic is the kind of retired mafia boss. He's earned enough to live out his life comfortably without having to go back to the life of crime, but is constantly trying to be pulled back into it by the others. Tired, "sick-of-your-bs", dilf vibes.
Arsenic is a very interesting poison and I liked how you drew it. Arsenic has also been used as a controlling tool of this serial killer I learned about. He used it to control his boyfriend so he would be more dependent on him because he has, if I'm right, an inferiority complex and he argued frequently with his boyfriend because his boyfriend had a job and he didn't. He gave him enough to the point where he doesn't feel well but not too much to die which is what really stood out to me about arsenic and the killer for me
When she started explaining how Foxglove is dangerous, all I could think of was that episode from Avatar where Uncle Iroh went “Delectable tea or deadly poison 🤔”
I just love when I see other people make characters based off of things like objects and plants, I'm always so happy. Fun to see other people's take on poison people!
I've done a similar thing but with songs. I would use one of my favorite songs based on a girl and I would draw what I think she would look like. They were always just sketches, but it was fun!
Here are my head canon voices/accents and personalities for these characters: Foxglove: West county English accent. Despite her friendly and calming demeanor you can tell there's something slightly off about her. If she invites you to tea it's best to politely decline. Arsenic: Posh English accent. He may seem polite and gentlemanly but don't be fooled this seemingly distinguished gentleman will stop at nothing to take all of your valuables by any means necessary. Even (and especially) if it means you making an early appointment with the Grim Reaper. TTX: Japanese accent with a Tōhoku dialect. Sad and misunderstood, this poor creature will do whatever it takes to defend itself from anyone who may try to harm it. Polonium 210: Russian accent with a monotone voice. Cold, calculating and ruthlessly efficient, this fearsome assassin will stop at nothing to silence any dissent towards the regime. Much like Foxglove she seems to have a fondness for tea.
Fun (?) fact: Digitalis was reportedly used as a medicine to keep Vincent Van Gogh from having seizures (thought to be caused by epilepsy). Some say that the “yellow vision” effect may have influenced some of his paintings, like “Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers” and “The Reaper”.
I can imagine her sometimes helping people. And humans cautiously bringing her in to help someone while she looks very happy. Its like the: “i know your a psycho killer but we relly need your help” situation!
Yep, I had to take Digoxin as an infant (the first Digoxin was made from foxgloves) I was born with a heartbeat that was too fast and I couldn't breathe, the medication helped my heart rate slow to a normal rate.
@@eshalharati9462 I think you need a very basic introduction into medicine. You see, for many thousand years people have been noticing that different plant and animal ingredients can have a variety of different effects apart from basic nutrition, and have been experimenting with these. That's how they noticed that for example, this and this thing here can make your heart go faster, *depending on the dose* , while this and this herb can make your heart go slower, also *depending on the dose* . When something in a HIGH DOSE and pure form can cause your heart to stop, a very tiny dose can help with your heart beating too fast! Meaning: *Something that has a specific dose where it can harm the body, can sometimes actually be used to treat specific symptoms and issues in a specific dose and situation* . You would be surprised how many kinds of medicine have been or still are extracted from e.g. animal poisons! Because something that can make your heart go slower when you don't want it, might actually be useful when your heart is going too fast to even out the effect of a disease or similar problem.
Fun fact: There actually is a way to arrest/somewhat neutralize the effects of TTX, and it is another poison, BTX (batrachotoxin), which is found in poison dart frogs and some birds! This is because the effects of the two poisons are direct opposites (opposite effect on sodium channels in cells)
@@kikikillian1208 lmao yeah it does, but it's all kinda hypothetical and may not work. hope your real friend is still alive after the 3 days of waiting

I think one of the most tragic things back then involving work ( in my opinion ) is the Tragic deaths of the so called “ghost girls” if I am correct. The ghost girls were young girls who worked with a type of paint and they painted with fine tip brushes and painted on those portable watches that glowed when in a dark place like a cave or tunnel they would paint the dials and everything you would see on a normal portable pocket watch but every time they would dip the brush in the paint they would then put the brush in their mouths this paint was a glow paint and was REALLY radioactive after a couple of days they would notice their teeth falling out, bottom jaw of their mouths even falling off, their skin becoming see through, and even their bones glowing through their skin. They would then die from this there was also 0 known cures as this was just happening but no one cared. There was about at least a thousand or two girls working one of the girls after one day at least decided to quit this actually saved her life also if I am correct. A detective and the girl I’m pretty sure tried to get the business down and gone but they didn’t win the war of this. And that is almost the whole story of the “Ghost girls” thank you for reading and be careful around glowing paint it could be the end of your life.
Radium Girls. They were called the Radium Girls. It took longer than a couple days, but they were poisoned by continuous exposure to the radium they worked with painting watch faces at a factory. They would lick the brushes to 'set' the tips in order to paint the tiny details. They had been told repeatedly by the company that radium was harmless, and when their bones started rotting in their still-living bodies, their jaws fell off their skulls, and their spines snapped from the strain of sitting upright, the company said it was their fault for contracting syphilis.
@@Victorion_The_Gacha_Fairy it’s not licking, plus it was back in the days. They were told what to do and so they did it. They couldn’t afford getting fired as of it was hard to get jobs as a female human. They were told to put the brushes in their mouths to make the tips more pointy to start painting again because the paint would ruin the tip a bit. So,there’s your answer.
as someone who used to play with nighshade berries as a child (on accident ofc. if my mother knew they were toxic she would freak), i’ve got to say that poison is actually a really interesting subject! also i love these characters’ designs :D
Th interactions and dynamics between all these characters would be so lovely- 'Arsenic' gives me very charming and slick vibes. 'Foxglove' seems very sweet and innocent in an almost manipulative way. 'TTX' would be like the token 'creature/outlier' of the group, just very quiet and unsettling. And of course 'Polonium-210' would be like your 'head hancho' who's always unsettlingly calm and in control. Idk just a thought, love your designs they're just so stunning!
I was thinking the same thing! I would love to see these characters meet up for a tea party or to plan a heist. They would all bring their own drinks/snacks and make up polite excuses while keeping a careful eye on each other. Foxglove and Arsenic would be engaged in a lively conversation, all charming and pleasant, while Polonium sits in unnerving silence. But when they speak up, their presence commands immediate attention and everyone listens. TTX would be standing awkwardly in the corner, and no one is sure whether they're even fully sentient. (but they hear and understand everything said about them)
be me, a man of chemical sciences who specializes in toxicology, who loves anime, and art. be you, somebody on the internet, who has managed to brighten my day by combining both my profession and my hobbies into one. i know not who you are, but as a person, i love you dearly.
Arsenic was also used in paints, specifically green paint. It made a vibrant beautiful color. Would have been cool to incorporate that into his design. I love what you did, emerald paint was just my 1st thought, so I was kind of disappointed it didn't happen.
@@zaggzgothstudios yeah, but she did include a lot of history, so I wonder if she purposefully excluded that one so she wasn't limiting herself too much. Especially since she doesn't normally use colors that bright, so it would have been fairly limiting for her to work with. Would have been really cool, but I could see her purposefully excluding it.
@@ThatOneLadyOverHere Also feel like giving arsenic based characters (or with a poison theme in general) a green palette is a bit overdone at this point. Almost every evil witch or villain character has a green colour palette, so it was fun seeing a different approach.
This is so cool! Don't know why, but I can imagine a visual novel game with these characters in it, maybe you would meet them one by one and you would have to avoid being tricked by them, or you would be poisoned. The most interesting encounter could be with the foxglove girl, maybe she would use her cute appearance as a facade to kill you. There would be a bizarre contrast between the characters' dialogue being seemingly nice and friendly and the risk of being murdered by these beings. Pretty nice art!
I'd love to see it also imagine if each level had different backgrounds and storylines like maybe the foxglove girl is inviting you to tea in a field or meeting up with arsenic some where victorian esq Just a thought
@@megumiseyelashes6706 I was thinking that maybe foxglove girl would appear in a garden, and would try to trick you into drinking her tea by being nice and polite with the player. The more you refused, the more visibly annoyed she would get, until she snapped.
@@megumiseyelashes6706 For Mr.Arsenic, he would compliment your beauty and tell you how pretty your face is, and he would suggest you put arsenic on it.
If the poisons were a family, arsenic would be the fancy rich uncle, foxglove would be the little sister, polonium 210 would be the older sister, and TTX would be the distant father or another uncle.
But for part 2…of her continuation of deadly toxins Anthrax would be the shy, reserved and adorable but deadly mysterious introverted friend of the group. Cyanide would be a self-centered, outgoing and emotionally unavailable Aunt. 💞💖
I can imagine LavenderTowne describing side effects of a medicine in a commercial “Don’t take if you have epilepsy, had history of heart attacks,” “Possible Side effects include loss of breath, blurred vision, heart attack, seizures, and even death” As a family is happily running around a park.
She's probably the only artist that i watch without skipping through because she always has an interesting way of explaining her art when she draws, and her videos are very interesting and somewhat educational. My favorite was the arisonic one ❤
What if foxglove was like a token of fatally bad luck? People around her are naturally drawn to her because of her appearance, but the more they indulge in her the closer they come to an untimely death. The heart rate and stomach symptoms can reflect how the people around her feel, both enamoured and intimidated by her. People would assume its their love and deep admiration for her that is just causing them anxiousness, but the symptoms would progress. If you wanted a more passive role, people can face strange causes of death that are hard to pinpoint. But for a more active role for Foxglove, maybe she would see the suffering she causes and put her victims "out of their misery".
Hungarian here - Angelmakers of Nagyrév (while greatly exaggerated in numbers of victims) were a lovely, horrifying group of small town little old ladies. They were called like this, because among their victims there were a large number of children, who, being very young, were considered innocent, and thus automatically becoming angels upon their deaths, according to folk beliefs. Nagyrév means something like Great Ferry, the first part pronounced somewhat like the Slavic name Nadia, and the second part actually pronounced very similarly like 'rave'. Love the video btw, Arsenic was very classy, and Foxglove's eyes looked suuuuper creepy. Don't even know how I got here, but I guess destiny called!
The TTX design looks like how a younger child would imagine a monster of some kind. Like it looks like a child's drawing, and it really adds to it. It looks like something a child would draw after being absolutely terrified and it fits really well with how horrific TTX poisoning is.
I feel like Foxglove acts like a friend but PLOT TWIST actually isn't. Arsenic is an enemy right from the beginning. TTX is actually nice but unfortunately, things happen and he must be defeated. And Polonium-210 helps at first by killing someone(so we'd already know she's bad but we don't wanna fight her), but like TTX, things happen and now she must be defeated too.
This lineup feels like the perfect anime villain squad. I feel like foxglove would be the cute psycho the fans all love, po-210 seems like she's be the mastermind andthe other two are the ones who go out and and commit crimes. I'd watch that anime.
Yea, Aqua Tofana, it was marketed as makeup and other various women's products but was secretly poison mean't for women who wanted out of abusive marriages in the 1630s. It was made of arsenic, lead, and possibly belladonna. Allegedly killed over 600 people
This is such a creative idea. I can imagine them being like a villain group who deceives people with their charm and kills people with poison. Btw can you do school subjects as humans? (Math, English, etc...)
that last one...I'm convinced that's what death itself looks like. GOod to know what to look for in the grim reaper. Terrifying and brilliantly well done (you also have a very soothing voice considering the topic). Great work!!
It's so interesting to see deadly poisons turned into characters, and I think it works really well how they look less human as you go on. I especially like how you made the TTX and Polonium 210 designs look, I think the sorrowful and mysterious look to the TTX one really works with the description you gave with it. And the glow of the eyes/the stomach being disintegrated in the Polonium 210 design really adds to the radiation aspect of it. These characters all give off the vibe that they could kill someone/be dangerous though. I really liked this video, it was really interesting to watch
Yeah though a few bits that she scrapped like giving Polonium-210 a face as the 'hush' expression she originally was going for would've gelled with its famous use on the Russian dissident; Alexander Litvinenko in 2006. Who's last words were You may succeed in silencing one man but the howl of protest from around the world, Mr. Putin, will reverberate in your ears for the rest of your life." which is paticularly revelvant today with the clampdown on actual fact-based media.
Some fun facts of arsenic:arsenic was often found in wall paper and lots of other items such as food, hair care products, furniture and lots more in the victorian area, arsenic was thought to be a good thing and was most love by women and male
It produced a very gorgeous green colour! Up until a certain point, all green dyed contained arsenic. (In the Victorian era). There are surviving dresses that were dyed with the stuff, and they're absolutely gorgeous. Edit: spelling mistakes. I was half-aleep when I wrote this, haha.
A while after watching this video, I was at Home Depot and found that foxglove was being sold as a pet plant. They’re so pretty, but knowing what they could do while seeing them in person was spine chilling. I really love all these designs
I'd love to see it, since I had a periodic table of all the elements as people based on what the elements can do, when I was in middle school. I'd love to see what Lavender Towne can make of them!
Fun thing about arsenic! It was used in the late 1700s to dye things green. It was also know at the time as Scheele's Green. He was a Swedish chemist who discovered how to make the green pigment by using copper arsenite. The pigment began to be used successfully through the period, commonly used in clothing, paint, candle wax, children's toys, wallpapers, and color textiles. Scheele's Green was also used to create bright yellows and rich blues, which was a big hit. A young flower maker was killed due to the exposure to the Scheele's Green in the wallpaper. Many of her colleagues were also exposed to it. It stopped being used in the 19th century when people began realizing it's toxicity and switched to using Cobalt Green, also known as Zinc Green, because of the less toxicity is had.
Foxgloves is turned into Digoxin (a heart medication). In small doses it helps with heart rhythm abnormalities and heart failure. It slows the heart rate and improves the hearts filling ability (filling of the ventricles). Medicine from foxglove is one of the earliest medications used to treat cardiac issues (along with willow bark which works like aspirin). But you can safely plant foxglove in your gardens, it’s a very common plant in cottage gardens, and it is only toxic if you consume a large amount of it. I have it planted along with a bunch of other wild flowers in the garden, it’s a very pretty flower. Just don’t eat it 🤷♀️
Fun fact about TTX-it was a very common ingredient in a sort of 'zombie powder' from Haiti, basically it was used to temporarily paralyze the victim, they'd be presumed dead and buried alive, so the person that poisoned them could go back and dig them up, aaand that's where zombie legends come from. Also, sidenote, I half-expected strichnine to be one of the poisons featured, but I guess that'd be hard to make into a character that didn't look like a Silent Hill-esque eldritch monstrosity.
Late, but I would imagine strychnine to look like a 50’s housewife because the tree that has the seeds that have the poison were planted a lot and if a neighbor was annoying, a Karen would have no problem with poisoning them (saw about it commonly being used to poison annoying neighbors in a museum exhibit about poisons)
I love the way her voice sound and is just talking about poison and teaching the wide internet about poisons Also love the designs Is there a chance for part 2 featuring different poisons as I know a few that weren't on this list
I like how summery the foxglove girl looks. When I visit my grandparents on their rural property in the summer there are fields of foxgloves everywhere, so they really remind me of warm weather and being in nature. The colours are beautiful. They tend to gradate from either pink at the bottom to white at the top, or purple at the bottom to pink at the top. Some stalks are just white though, and some are just fuschia/purple.
My dad once had a pufferfish dish while on a business trip. The rest of my family were freaking out. I think if not made correctly it can kill you with that one poison. He was fine, but no one will let him have that again. My dad seems to get into the most poisonous situations.
I'm just imagining these guys all sitting in a garden for tea and while Arsenic and Foxglove are discussing tea Polonium-210 is just holding an empty can of beer while spraying TTX (who is standing in a paddling pool) with a garden hose
@@woomy2343 Google says "Foxglove is used for congestive heart failure (CHF) and relieving associated fluid retention (edema); irregular heartbeat, including atrial fibrillation and “flutter;” asthma; epilepsy; tuberculosis; constipation; headache; and spasm. It is also used to cause vomiting and for healing wounds and burns."
The use of tetradotoxin is actually how we got the concept of zombies in Haitian mythology. In a very low dosage, it lowers the heart rate to a point of being nigh undetectable, thus giving the illusion of being dead, despite still walking around.
I'm ridiculously transfixed at the smiling but not really element going on with arsenic, and how beautifully it's pulled off. I didn't really notice until it was mentioned, but it's amazing both how quickly the brain accepts something it registers as a face, and how it can change instantly the perception of the character. Freaking cheff kiss on them all, honestly, kudossss!
I absolutely loved the polonium character, and the arsenic one looks so posh and 80s! The foxglove girl was very cute, and the pufferfish one was so ethereal!
This is really cool. I like how you express the "personalities" of each poison. If you ever do this kind of thing again in the future, I may suggest ricin? It's very deadly, and can be taken from a pretty common plant, though I can't remember which one right now.
I can see a show where all of these characters live together. Foxglove is like the younger sister of the group. She’s fairly optimistic and cares for anyone and everyone. She loves making tea, but in doing so, she tends to accidentally poison people. She’s the moral compass. Arsenic is the fatherly(?)/boss figure in the group. He’s very straight forward and he doesn’t give two craps about the weird stuff that happens around these characters. He’s secretly (but not really tho) a serial killer and has the most experience with planned murder. Despite this, he takes care of everyone in the group and makes sure no one goes buck wild. TTX is the misunderstood monster of the group. They usually just hang out in their own little space, while everyone else just does their own thing. They really just want friends, but they tend to scare others off before anyone gets the chance. I can imagine Arsenic entering TTX’s room to give them food, to see them doing weird-creepy stuff, and then Arsenic quickly shuts the door and moves on with his day like nothing happened. Very sad Polonium-210 is your token “creepy teenager that can and will kill you with edge”. For her backstory, I can imagine that she was artificially created by humans, then she broke out and killed everyone there. Ever since then, she became a hitman (hitwoman?) for assassinating government officials for whatever reason. Before her final design, LavenderTowne drew her with a normal mouth, which inspired me to think that she is normally that way, but she becomes more deformed the more bloodlust she has, which I think would be a pretty cool character trait.
I would love to see nightshade! Especially since it's other name is Belladonna (Italian for beautiful woman) it'd be cool to see her as a femme fatale type or something
Very interesting. The designs of the characters are nice and detailed, with how you incorporated the effects and symptoms of them to generate an appearance.
I think this is some of the best referencing I’ve ever seen in a video like this. The way you tie in the history of each toxin with its design so seamlessly to form an overall cohesive character is absolutely incredible.
I live in the UK and I used to see Fox Gloves all the time in the country side when I was a child. I remember being warned multiple times by my mum about them. I feel a nostalgic confort in seeing them now, and I’m pleasantly surprised to see you make them into a character :)
I always come back to this channel because it's such a good representation of the mind of an artist. You aren't just creating this one thing, you're conjoining a nebula of information and studying topics that professors would've killed someone for information of just a few centuries ago in order to make something you feel is "right" despite that being an undefinable descriptor. You aren't just a creator, you're a scientist and a biologist and a chemist and so much more, just for a drawing of a personified chemical.
I’m now realizing that Foxglove is somewhat like an angel trumpet, those flowers that make your vision all weird sometimes. horn shaped flowers are scary
I don't know why, but rewatching this video just gave me the incontrolable urge to draw, with like, a Lavandertowne music playlist, the music Haley chooses for her videos are soo good, but I can't find them for the life of me :'(.
Fun fact: Arsenic was also used to make a type of green paint in 1814, it was such a nice color that people used it for everything, walls, clothing, plates, cups, basically anything they could. As one would guess, far to many people died thanks to the beautiful green colour, unfortunately it took some time for people to realize it was the arsenic in the paint.
Oh wow, all of the designs of the characters are amazing! It’s cool to hear how they where used, or how it’s works, it actually helped me learn about these things!

so, for the arsenic design, it would have been cool to see some green in there since arsenic was used in the 1800s to make this vibrant green dye that was used in dresses and wallpaper.

Pick your poison?
I've done a similar thing but with songs. I would use one of my favorite songs based on a girl and I would draw what I think she would look like. They were always just sketches, but it was fun!
Here are my head canon voices/accents and personalities for these characters:
Foxglove: West county English accent.
That’s kind of horrifying, I’m gonna look that up now

Who the hell licks paint
Besides kids and toddlers
@@Victorion_The_Gacha_Fairy it’s not licking, plus it was back in the days. They were told what to do and so they did it. I grew up around foxgloves. I imagine she'd make a buzzing sound when she attacks since bees sound really loud when they go in them
She's probably the only artist that i watch without skipping through because she always has an interesting way of explaining her art when she draws, and her videos are very interesting and somewhat educational.

It looks like something a child would draw after being absolutely terrified and it fits really well with how horrific TTX poisoning is.
i love how much research she puts into these before making them
these video ideas are on another level 💀
here for it tho 😌
Yes but that's what makes them so cool ☝
This feels like enemies that a protagonist would have to defeat in an animated show.
right? each of them gives very well to animated movements...they each would be very distinct in how they moved haha.
Or in a comic book
This lineup feels like the perfect anime villain squad. I feel like foxglove would be the cute psycho the fans all love, po-210 seems like she's be the mastermind andthe other two are the ones who go out and and commit crimes. I'd watch that anime.
Arsenic seems like the emotionless cold-blooded killer to me.

Fun Fact: There was a woman who made makeup who also sold poison to women who wanted out of their marriages.
yeaaaa, wasn’t it aqua del fana eee idk if i spelt that right
I bet her street name was Bella Donna
@@beththedarkmage3359 HAHHAHHSHSHSHAHSJNCNAJKNDJABJ
Aqua Tofonna~ (I probably spelled that wrong😅)
Yea, Aqua Tofana, it was marketed as makeup and other various women's products but was secretly poison mean't for women who wanted out of abusive marriages in the 1630s. It was made of arsenic, lead, and possibly belladonna. Allegedly killed over 600 people
My younger self would have loved this. Poison and forensics were really interesting to me in middle and high school.
You gave us two lessons today:
Art tips and education about poison.
I actually use scheeles green in character design a lot! It is my second favorite color and I find it very interesting
Bro its in food that i eat daily-
HAHAHAHAHA GET REKT ARSENIC MY COUNTRY HAS HIGH FOOD STANDARDS 🤓
Same with asbestos pretty recently, and plastic nowadays
This reminds me a bit of radium and the popularity it received
A while after watching this video, I was at Home Depot and found that foxglove was being sold as a pet plant. They’re so pretty, but knowing what they could do while seeing them in person was spine chilling. I really love all these designs
For another prompt, you should draw chemicals/ the table of elements as people
I'd love to see it, since I had a periodic table of all the elements as people based on what the elements can do, when I was in middle school. I'd love to see what Lavender Towne can make of them!
I used to imagine the elements of the periodic table as characters too! It'd be interesting to see Lavender's interpretation!
Well Arsenic and Polonium are elements, so only 116 to go!
Usnt that what finished off Napoleon
@@markgallagher1790 pretty sure, yeah!
I believe I recall hearing this!
lavender you saved my life, as we’re planting foxgloves and i didn’t know they were poisonous
I mean, were you planning on eating them?
Omg Were U Planning On Eating Them?
Just don’t eat it 🤷♀️
Don’t plant foxglove cause it’s a weed that Chokes and kill over plants! Also dont eat it
Do be careful if you have pets, though - I’ve heard of house cats eating foxglove and dying.
I love that we're learning well watching some one draw
I heard about that in a netflix series (the name is in portuguese,it's called mundo mistério if anyone is interested)
@@mysticrose2000 hi I’m super late but do you remember which museum?

I love the way her voice sound and is just talking about poison and teaching the wide internet about poisons
Also love the designs
Is there a chance for part 2 featuring different poisons as I know a few that weren't on this list
Foxglove plants r actually a good plant to attract birds, bees and butterflies 😳 bye bye birds, bees, butterflies I guess..
My dad once had a pufferfish dish while on a business trip. The rest of my family were freaking out. I think if not made correctly it can kill you with that one poison. He was fine, but no one will let him have that again. My dad seems to get into the most poisonous situations.
I see what ya did there!
Foxglove is like.... The literal explanation of why you don't judge a book on it's cover!
Trust me, Foxglove isn't the only one.
I'm just imagining these guys all sitting in a garden for tea and while Arsenic and Foxglove are discussing tea Polonium-210 is just holding an empty can of beer while spraying TTX (who is standing in a paddling pool) with a garden hose
fun fact: foxglove is commonly used as a medical herb
:0
For what ailment?
@@woomy2343 Living

4:54 i love the little detail of the heart in the champain glass cause from what i remember arsenic attacks the heart(could be wrong)
I think it's apricots, though there's tiny amounts in apple seeds
Ricin comes from the Castor Bean Plant.

I love how amazing you are at making very creepy characters. They’re so scary but it’s beautiful.
For someone who designed poison humans, the voice is so calming lol-
I can see a show where all of these characters live together.
Very sad
Polonium-210 is your token “creepy teenager that can and will kill you with edge”.
"hitwoman"
This is really cool, I like this idea. All those descriptions seem fairly accurate lol
I'd love to see someone make a series on this idea.
You could do character designs based on historical art styles, like art nouveau, art deco, pointism, etc.
Oooo that would be so cool!!
YEAH ART NOUVEAU WOULD BE SO COOL >:D
oh these have got to be my favorite character designs you've ever made they SLAP. if u ever do a sequel you should try nightshade and strychnine!
I would love to see nightshade! Especially since it's other name is Belladonna (Italian for beautiful woman) it'd be cool to see her as a femme fatale type or something
Her poison character videos are my favorite! The designs are so beautiful and she talks so calmly, I could listen to her talk about anything.
I always love Lavender Towne’s creepy art. It’s eerily beautiful. 🖤
I’m now realizing that Foxglove is somewhat like an angel trumpet, those flowers that make your vision all weird sometimes.
horn shaped flowers are scary
I love how she researches each poison to every detail, I really appreciate that you do hard work to learn about these before you draw!
