Had a new Suzuki rigged at outboard specialities about 3 months ago. Great guys great operation. Nothing but positive things to say about them. Also, did my break in service, met me at the ramp, pulled it out, back to shop, serviced right away, dropped me back in, out of there. Very smooth, beautiful.
Congrats on your boat Mike! Dont listen to "Team Penn" either. I have that same engine on my bay boat and it will beat the brakes off of a merc or Yamaha 350. It also gets great fuel mileage, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for your videos! I'm a huge fan, and you've helped me a ton the past few years with your instructional content. Tight lines!
@@vmonroig21 that's why I went with Suzuki, my life long friend bought a 200hp and has over 2000 hours on it with no issues. The mercs I've had have been good and bad. This is my second Suzuki, the first was awesome but I sold the boat with only 600 hrs. But had no issues.
We need a detailed video on the lower unit issues on the DF350A and DF 300. You know, the sea water in the lower unit oil, the seaweed and debris getting in both water valves and ruining the engines(over heat). Etc etc. I really like these duo prop engines but please inform the public on your progress or opinion is. - Suzuki fan.
I've gone back and forth trying to decide between the 350 & 300, I like the idea of the dual prop especially the added power & handling benefits but I didn't like the extra $4k along with the additional 100 pounds, also the 300 has been around a long time and has proven longevity. I ordered a Suzuki 300 last week to repower my 2008 BW 2550, it has a new custom tower with upper helm built.
When they say drop it off and go have lunch, they ain’t kidding! Dropped off my 150 off at my dealer, got it serviced and the boat was washed and detailed when I got back!
My first hand experience with Suzuki is far from the rest of you. My grandpa bought a pontoon new in 03 with a Suzuki on the back I do understand this was early years of the df but we had nothing but problems with the motor, starting issues, overheating issues. Maybe it was just a lemon but fast forward 17 years later they have a solid strong hold in the market
Mike i have one on my 254 mako and its incredible! Just ask any questions i can give you fuel burns, handling and the details! I just started a new channel im going to be posting alot of content about and with my mako project!
Don’t waste your money on the gauge for the top station. Run it through your Garmin like he said. If you can ask for the newest gauge. The 2016 gauges suck. I replaced them by the second year and the year after. I love my Suzuki’s but I hear the new 7” square single screen is the only worth while gauge. They do make a new small square gauge after the c-10 but if u can get the new new, I would get it.
Outboard Specialties did my friends boat and he was very happy with them. I think you should stay away from the Duoprop. There are more parts that could possibly fail. If Duoprops were greatly beneficial all the manufacturers would be making them. Its your boat however so have fun with it and do what makes you happy.
The 350 has more lift in the stern because of the dual props, the fuel economy on these motors are incredible espeacially in a single motor set up. Mine pushes my 254 mako yes heavy 85 mako, with 200 gals of fuel, 4 people fishing gear and coolers, 40mph @4200 rpms getting 2.9 mpg. I dont think anyone can post #s like this with any other outboard. Wot ive seen 54 @62000 and 100gals of fuel, and time to plane is rediculous!
@@offshoreandoutdoors Offshore and Outdoors Pretty impressive numbers, just saying it will be less efficient than the exact same setup with a single prop setup, but there are benefits as well.
@@rsdna9698 the design is really different these motors have alot of torque and grip, the responsiveness of the 350 is that like a drag car with slicks, on a single setup you have to use power assist steering because of the torque.
Hooked-n-Rolling Offshore 2009 yeah, the Etecs are supposed to be no break in, I still recommend no extended wot for first 10 hrs and to vary rpms so everything seats in good even if BRP doesn’t.👍👍😎🙏

some trade reliability for top speed

We switched to Suzuki a few years ago and will never have anything else hanging off the back. Good luck with the build 🤙

Outboard Specialties always takes great care of me!!!

I think a second station would be ideal, For fishing boats, Good luck with the build. Look forward to seeing the finished product.

Mike with OBS great guy and great operation.

Just repowered my bass boat with a 200 s have no complaints other. Than I don’t know when it’s running which is a good thing.
Great Videos I have checked out all the options I am going repowering with a Suzuki 90 on my old star craft offshore
Is it possible to get the clear sides on a functional motor ? That's a pretty cool look . Especially if it was lit up .
Outboard specialties rigged my boat, I have nothing but positive feedback.
I think you made a right choice! I have a 2010 175 Suzuki on a 22' custom built aluminum with about 400 hrs. I think it's actually makes gas.😋😁

That duel prop will eliminate cavitation. Sweet motor.
Are you booking charters for summer ? Cant wait to see new style in action !!!! Congrats capt. Mike
Zuke 350 is about 10 mph faster than a 300 on my 24’ bay boat. It’s a great motor!
DId you already get the Verado? If not, the Suzuki will NEVER let you down.
Ok then, she’s coming together nicely.

I'm a merc guy, but the tech is intriguing.
Just ordered twin DF200AP’s for my Boston Whaler 255 Conquest.....
Did you think about duel 150s?
Hulltruth keeps bickering about reliability issues on this motor, wish you the best hopefully you can prove em wrong

Volvo penta started the dou prop in the late 70s early 80s mercruiser adapted it in the late 90s 2000s... 20 years later finally on an outboard 😂
Nice bro 👍🏾
We have twin Suzuki 175's on our Cape Horn 24Xs and they are great motors! You will love the motor.
I heard the 3r0 has a lot of issues.
I woukd do a second station if I had the choice.
With a duel prop, you will feel a lot more torque, but there is a trade-off, less fuel-efficient and lower top-end.

You’re eating well
Damn lardani is getting old
Trolling voids the warranty, ask a mechanic not a salesman.
Improper break in voids the warranty. After break in is complete, troll all you want.

Hooked-n-Rolling Offshore 2009 Great motors, no doubt!
Get a mercury outboard. Don’t go cheap, which is what Suzuki is. You’ll lose on fuel efficiency and top end performance.
