I started pretty much at same time as Maureen in 2018, and now I'm taking stock about where I want to go next to keep growing as UX designer. Some of your points can also be useful for mid-career designers: we need to find ways to keep learning and practicing, we need to keep building our portfolio and case studies, as well as an online presence. Thanks Maureen.

You're welcome! We absolutely agree with your point, it's super useful to take stock and reflect regularly where you are and where you want to be in your career. From that it is easy to see what you need to do to get there, whether it's more practice, building an online presence, etc. This is the way to grow as a professional!

I started my Cf course and life got the best of me. I felt bad about taking so long and my pauses got longer and longer. But, Cf was helpful and worked with me. I’ve re-joined my course and feel like these tips will help me re-evaluate and be more successful this time. I’ll be re-visiting this video often. ❤

But the on going discussions about AI's impact on UI/UX Designing scares me and makes me question my decision of switching my career to this. What are your views on the AI's impact on the future of thus industry?

I was on your feet when I started and I thought I needed to code up my portfolio and I did it so easy with figma and behance: you need to open a new frame and just paste and write down one casestudy that you like the most and just go on! The best way is just...start. Good luck!

This was chock full of great info! Thank you! I am just getting back into my career after an 8 yr hiatus. I used to do web and multimedia design and now Id like to transition over to UX UI design so I am planning my next steps to learn more about it! I am a hands on learner so def what you said about learning your own way resonated with me. Its one of the reasons I have been dragging my feet about doing the Google based certificate, it seems like a lot of theory and not a lot of hands on design.

I’m currently in a graphic arts school program that works like a trade school during junior and senior year of highschool. We use Adobe software, mostly photoshop, indesign, etc. I find a lot of interest in this career and want to go to college for it, to get father in this. I don’t want to have a tough time getting in just with a certificate, I plan on going in college for my bachelors in User Experience for Ux Design. Will be getting my bachelors as well as having Highschool time in this kinda industry get me farther and solidify a job for me compared to just getting a certificate? Is getting a bachelors in User Experience perfect for this? Thank you for the video, it was super informative!
