the forward end should come off with a grub screw holding it in place. Then you need to thread lines down from inboard end which is glued. Unfortunately that does mean often removing from the boat so gravity can help. Another trick is to use a hose pipe to flush the lines down.
Not at all. That is a spare line. We had broken so many tack lines before, which are impossible to replace on the water, so we put this loop in so that we could lash on if needed... however, since implementing the system described in this video we've not had one tack line wear through and now we have removed this pink back up loop.

How do you get the cap off of the aft end of the pole to re-rig the lines? Mine appears to be glued in tightly.
