You can do it on Lynels. I do it to the one in the coliseum by using magnesis to drop shields near him followed by a charged thunderblade. Then just jump down when he's near it so he'll notice you. He won't get damaged but he won't move towards you either.
This video plus the infinite stamina glitch made BOTW playable for me. I am so bad at games and I needed those two extra stamina to play at a basic level. With the shock trap, I can pass even the tests of strength, which were impossible for me before. As a result, I’m never scared of shrines anymore and I can raise my stats on my own. Now I love this game. Thank you!!!

Wow! Have six months already passed? I now play the game on Master Mode without having to glitch stamina/hearts or use shock traps. I can wind-bomb, clip through a few walls, and do shield-block-resets occasionally. Levelling up! Unfortunately, 100%-ing the game is still out of my reach, with the last thing left being Trial of the Sword, which I cannot pass on master mode. I’ve tried at least 20 times now, but I’m still too slow and clumsy. I’ve finally learned how to sneak-strike-chain, though, so maybe in another 6 months, I’ll be ready. 🤪
I never would've imagined I would still find new things to do in this game 3 years later

Just found even faster trap for Scout 4 :
Do shock trap, then throw (far away) camp fire, then light up the fire.
It'll burn the guardian to crips in secs
Thanks for the shock trap video. I can't believe I had a modest guardian get out of being shocked before it died, but then I got him trapped again and then he died.

If you don’t want to get shocked, just use the unshockable armor ;) (I actually verified and it works)
I had tried to make a trap yesterday and didn't realize you have to swing it first. I was wondering why nothing was happening.
But I also found that some weapons won't have mods when held by an enemy, and could only have them from a chest (ex: the Phrenic Bow). So now I'll be checking any chest locations to see if I already got them or not. I haven't finished the Gerudo region, or reached Faron & Central Hyrule yet, so there will be chances for new chests too.

Nice video. I've done this plunderblade trick for awhile and noticed that the only Guardians that it does work on or the one inside of shrines. It will work on every one of those but the Guardians out that defines this has no effect. At least it doesn't have any effect when I do it. Again nice video.
I can personally confirm that any enemy under silver or white will not hold modded weapons. I tried for the longest time to shock trap a moblin for a 112 royal guards claymore, but the moblin was black so the best I could get it to drop was a 72 critical which is solid. I'm currently doing a bre minimum run of the game, so I haven't done like anything at all. I'm basically just going to Ganon and the blights with the weapons I find in Hyrule castle LMAO
They Also make for good decoration. Try dropping the thunderblade in that fountain behind riku's throne. Its beautifull

...is my husband...He sent me here ...I love using the shock traps ....LOL ..but I have in odd way lost my Great Thunderblade while doing it ...not because I forgot to pick it back up..It just disappears..Not sure why it happens ..but I can easily find another one so no big deal.. Just south of Rito Village in Cuho Mountian every Bloodmoon it re-spawns. ..But just a heads up for new players ..That it can happen sometimes..But still I highly recommend giving it a try ...Oh and I get the best pics for the Hyrule Compendium that way nice up close shots... "evil giggle"...I have over 2000 hours in this game..love it!

I was on the major test of strength shrine and I tried the shock trap but I never swinged the weapon so it didn't activate and then I found your video and it helped a lot

Hey ik this was a year ago but uhhhhhhh I don't know how to do it from the guards chamber, it seems like I have to wait for the blood moon and then when it does come the lizalfos come too, idk if its bc im in normal mode or what, im a little annoyed lol

I use shock traps for menu overloading too. Shields and bows can't be dropped for duplication unless Link gets zapped. Just drop a shock weapon in the pile of Lynel bows and equip two pieces of rubber armour. Dupe away!

You can make it with the lighter weapons, but it’s harder.
its important to note, the coliseum only has elemental weapons after you beat all 4 divine beasts

i know this video is a little older but this is the first I’m learning of this, when you shock trap the silver or gold enemies for the modded weapon, could you pick up more than one? or it won’t let you?

Hey! I went to the coliseum ruins. Defeated the lynel,but the enemies there had normal weapons not elementals. Is this related to my level? If yes then how do i get the elemental sword early game.
Weapon scaling all has to do with the game’s hidden EXP system. Right after you beat the Plateau, you’ll have next to no EXP because the strongest thing on the plateau is Black Bokoblins and Guardians. If you want to quickly increase your EXP, you should complete all Divine Beasts and start slaying a LOT of Lynels. The hard way is to grind them all; the easy (but longer) way is to play casually and kill _every single enemy_ you come across.
Just Wanted to say that it seems the mighty lynel bow can overdrive menu consistently with only two bows

To be fair Kleric didn't discover any of these glitches, and is doing the same type of thing as the Orig Poster, so there's no reason to credit him with discovery. Either disclosing he did not discover the glitches/tricks or provides credit/reference to the individual who did discover it is sufficient.
You have a savage lynel sword with a 100 damage!!! 😱. Also i have like 200 in game hours and never knew about this 3:42 😭. Overall Great video!! game changer for me 😂. Im on my way to farm royal guard claymores 🏃♂️🛡🏹🗡
Yes! I do have the strongest weapons in the game. Savage lynel sword is the highest single handed weapon and royal guards claymore is the highest 2 handed weapon. Make sure you transfer durability to it though because it doesn't last very long =(
First, I just want to say great video, but does anyone know if the shock traps work on gannon. My little brother wants to do a glitch, but he can't take knockback for it to work so the shock trap is the easiest way to do that.

Mine says whenever I try to do a fire it says I cannot pass time when an enemies is near.
I think this might be a newer update, but in my version (on the nintendo switch) I can't drop weapons mid-swing

Now I'm wondering if you can set fire traps in the forest or plains and just watch the world (and enemies) burn. Will the fire spread far or just stay in the general area though?
That may be something someone's willing to try =)
Fire will just stay in the same place; only thorns and leaf walls can spread fire quickly. Because of the way grass works in BOTW, it won’t spread the fire. It’ll grow black and extinguish. This was probably done to prevent memory overload, since a ton of quickly-spreading fire particles onscreen would’ve been too much for the Switch’s processor to handle.

he needs to not have noticed you. if he sees you, you may need to hide until he can't see you anymore

It still works. There are no more updates to the game. Try the double handed spinning method. That's the easiest one
