I just flushed out the brake lines today and was looking at doing the pads next and this came across my feed, looking at this gives me a better idea of what i will be doing, great job!
@@momanddadmeetworld I agree! I think 1st Gen is arguably the best one of all: the fantastic visibility, those windows are absolutely HUUUGE! I love it. I have the 2012 version with Bilstein coilovers and Konig Helium wheels. We can't blame Honda for this but rather our fellow Americans who love big cars! :)
I have the same issue with the duralast gold Front brake clips & pads not fitting on 2008 sport model. Now trying to locate the old clips. Might have tossed them 😢
Good video but you really should not be touching the inside of the brake pads with dirty hands (gloves). You don't want to transfer any grease or oil onto them. Other than that, this is provably the best video on doing front brakes on this car. A tip for anyone doing this job - Jack up the car in the center from the front. Then use your Jack stands on each side, utilizing the points on the "frame" that she pointed out at the becoming of the video. Having the entire front end up in the air will allow you to turn the wheels and give you better access to you brakes.
The brake bracket must be cleaned of brake pad wear products and then the metal plates of the shoe holders must be replaced. Apply grease to the grooves where the brake pads will be installed. The rear brake pads can travel up to 200,000 km with careful driving
Great filming and presentation, but A-Z pads will glaze and deform OEM rotors, saw that on the junk yard few months ago. Of course if the car is on the last legs , it does not matter. The cost for OEM set for me was less than from the Autozone (*two rotors and pad set, bought form Honda on-line store) my brake job th-cam.com/video/8JsbguC7Crw/w-d-xo.html
We replaced our OEM rotors last year with ones from AZ, no video on that, but they’ve worked out fine so far with many miles clocked on. I don’t doubt OEM brake parts. They tend to be best.
thanks for sharing, very good and clear pictures...
You're very welcome, and thank you for the kind words!

Thank you, the pads are very straightforward without any odd surprises.
Hey, thanks for this video. Your Fit is in such good shape, there's not much rust at all!
It’s been an awesome commuter car. Was hoping Honda would not have discontinued sales of this car in the US market.

@@msmarshall854 It’s been replaced by the HRV in terms of Honda small cars, but I do love the old school hatchback with a modern design.

Amazing video and great walk-through. Thank you very much. Do you think it’s the same on a 2012?
I cannot 100% say yes, but Honda brakes are very similar. I would say it’s a strong possibility that this would be the same way.
What’s that part you used for the brake piston compression? I’d like to order one. Ty
It’s called a brake spreader on amazon, it’s about 10$.
