This is a great work-around. Thanks. However, while the GIF method retains animations, it doesn't work for effects and slide transitions. Do you have a tip for that?
Hi Brent, if you try it now and export a Canva presentation with transitions, you'll find that they do work in PPT. I'm unsure what you mean by 'effects', though.

Hi Rosi, have you tried dragging & dropping one PNG at a time? It can be tricky sometimes. I've not heard of anyone having difficulties with PPT. Alternatively you could trying uploading a PNG onto a slide?

I enjoyed this video, however I don't have PPT and was wanting to use your Ninja trick for Google slides. I played around with it a bit, but wasn't able to find a workaround. Have you discovered anything recently that will allow this to be done without losing all of my work/customizations in Canva. I successfully opened the PPT file with Slides, but everything is dull and lifeless. I have a interview/presentation due on Friday of this week, so I either have to modify everything quickly or see if they will allow me to use Canva to present to the original version. 🤞 Also, does the png option capture gif animations? Hi there, I've not re-tested converting Canva to Google recently. Somebody told me that it's still possible to upload PNG files into Google slides, however. I'm surprised it hasn't worked for you. What format does your presentation need to be in for Friday? One note: no animated features or videos work outside of Canva once converted to PPT, Google or PDF.

Hi Jeff, yes Canva changed this menu layout a few months ago. So click on the Share button to find all the settings you need. For PPT go Share > More > Save and find the PPT icon.

Can you tell me if there is a way to show your pointer in Canva? I’ve recorded my first video and could see the pointer through the entire presentation. Your animation won't play if you download as PNG files. Ar least Canva says they won't. You need to download as Gifs. But great video thank you. Lots of great tips.

No, not unless you remove them yourself, or move them away from the edges. They don't show when downloaded as a PDF, and I'm fairly sure you don't notice them when presenting in PPT. But I confess I'm not a PPT expert.

Hi Bev, I'm using Canva Pro, not Enterprise. My screen may look a little different to yours since I'm a CCC. That said you should still have all the correct features.
Margaret, if that doesn't work insert each slide as a PNG file just as you would insert any other image. It's a bit more tedious but works in exactly the same way. Let me know if it works?

No they won't play in PPT. Did you watch the section where I mentioned this? You would have to upload videos directly into PPT to do this.

You can always upload them as an image into each slide if my tip doesn't work. It's the same workaround, it might just take a little longer.

In your video, you said to download as PNG files. I thought you can only do PPT files if you have canva pro, which I do not have.

Exporting Canva slides to Google Dtive isn't the best at the moment. However, exporting to PPT is now perfect, including animations AND video!

I’m guessing that the only way to create a working hyperlink to a picture I download as an image is to make it a QR code?
Well, you could definitely use a QR code (Canva has one in Apps), or if you download a presentation as a PDF you could add a clickable hyperlink 😊
