Thank the lord for PSA. We are fortunate to have a company focused on 2A freedoms. The price is great because they have a great business model controlling costs. So what you are getting direct from PSA for $500.00 is on the level of a $700.0 to $900.00 AR-15 after paying all of the middlemen. Great guns and buy more and even more ammo for the price! I own Three AR-15's and a 9mm upper on an AR-15 lower. All of then are flawless.
What about complete PSA firearms? In your experience, they usually work correctly? I have one of their AK’s right now with about 300 rounds through it and the bolt is currently locked up in the forward position, unfortunately. But I just ordered a dagger and a 10.5”.
I’ve honestly never bought a complete PSA firearm. So I hate to comment on that. But the uppers I’ve purchased has been great. And if there is an issue they are usually really good about correcting it.
I have high end guns but I’ve bought a couple of these because they were affordable. Great running guns so far. I built an 18 inch for my DMR, put a custom trigger in it , run a 1-8 LPVO on it, kind of heavy but it has a special purpose. These PSA rifles are for having fun at the range and great for truck guns.
I absolutely love my 16" FREEDOM AR from PSA. I put their nickel boron bcg, and 3.5lb match grade trigger in and a Armaspec sound mitigation buffer system. I have about 500 rounds thru it now, have had no issues. Oh i also put an Ultradyne Apollo Max compensator on it also. My buddy shot it with cmmg 22lr, then with 5.56 and he said he couldn't feel a difference in recoil.
The rail in the 16" looks pretty slick. Reminds me of the old War Sport rifles. You wouldn't happen to remember the model name or number would you? Thanks
Yes! That’s what it reminded me of too! And it’s a Midwest Industries 17.5” combat rail. They come with the muzzle brake. Thank you for watching brother!
My first experience with PSA was not a good one, bought a 16 freedom kit, sent it back, it was crushing my bullets, FTF, FTE, every kinda problem you can have I had it, sent it back, and it seemed like they never even touched it!! 💔 It stood on my rack as a big paper weight. I was so disappointed 😞 in PSA. After about 6 months I took it to my gunsmith, he tore it down, re adjusted the feed ramps, polished them, went thru everything and retightened etc, runs fine now 🤷 I wanna love them for what they are but I'm a bit gun shy 🤭
Dang that sucks! Hate to hear that but we need to hear (and PSA needs to hear) these experiences too so they and we can all improve. It would be hard for anyone to trust them if that was their experience. If that happen to me I would probably just go to BCM and not look back. Or maybe just stick with their premium kits. I appreciate you sharing! I hope nobody else runs into that!
@@920WASHBURN because I told him that I would go with another company if I had the same experience? I would think anyone would be unhappy with that experience.
The only issue Ive ever had with a psa kit was a knurled buffer tube that i assume was dropped on the floor or perhaps stored up against something heavy - once i figured out why i had to mortar it ever shot I was able to just file the protruding metal away and then it ran perfectly
I just came across your videos , I’m subscribing…valuable information I have one question for you, what’s your thoughts on owning multiple handguns, I’m trying to own less to train more with a purpose instead a lot of pistols that’s just look awesome, like 2 pistols two rifles 10.5 and 16 any advice?
That’s awesome and thank you so much brother! I really appreciate it! As far as consolidating pistols, I recommend same caliber and magazines so you can feed them the same. Same with rifles. I like my Glock 19 and 26 setup. They can both feed off of my 19 or bigger magazines. I like this topic a lot so I will do a video on this soon. I have consolidated a lot over the past few years myself so I definitely feel you on this. Thank you again brother and keep an eye out for that video! Please checkout my website and facebook business page too! God bless brother!
@@Cliffmontgomery3 not the only two but definitely my “go to” that I train and practice with the most. If I had to get rid of everything else I would keep those. I have however consolidated all my pistols down to 9mm.
I wonder what the ft lbs of energy loss is at 300 with the 10.5? PSA is a good company and has a good idea. More rifles in the hands of citizens is a good thing.
It’s significant I’m sure. I still wouldn’t want to be shot by it but the 14.5 and greater will have a fair amount of more energy at that distance. I Appreciate you watching and the comment brother!
I would stake the gas block on PSA rifles. Mine came lose after 150-200 rounds. After that my 11.5 ran great. I bought another 16 inch too. I staked that one too and no problems with 5.56. Jammmed like crazy with the cmmg .22 conversion kit but so did my buddy’s gun.
I filed a flat spot on the barrel for the gas block set screws and rock set them. But I have heard the same thing. The craziest thing I have seen from them is a bolt that was machined undersized. It was a “standard” bolt, not the premium if that matters. They replaced it no questions asked but it’s crazy that made it out of QC. Thanks for the tip brother. Always appreciate advice or tips that work!
I’be seen them come off on a few guns mine included. My neighbor warned me as soon as I got a PSA rifle. I’ve also heard instructors mention it. However the instructors mention it on any gun. They always say to double check and then use locktite
Eventually. That particular tourniquet doesn’t have elastic in it but the shock cord is elastic. I did an initial test of getting it up to 320ish degrees and everything is still working properly. If you want to watch that video it’s on the channel here too. I keep it on the rifle just to give it a longevity test really. The SET-Mount is made with the best materials and coatings available right now. (Same material and coatings Daniel Defense, BCM, and Midwest Industries uses) I really appreciate the question and I hope that helps.
Also I failed to mention. It’s a two piece design adding a extra piece of coated aluminum between the handguard and shock cord/tourniquet which drastically reduces the heat that is getting to the tourniquet making it ready when you are even in the most intense gun fire.
Hit and miss with psa. they have gotten better with QC compared to the past. Gun snobs cant stand psa. I just did a class with my freedom build, i swapped the trigger and bcg for geissele. It definitely isnt a noveske, Daniel defense or knight's armament, but it ran😂
I have that on my Daniel Defense. It’s a love/hate for me. Light AD happens every now and then and I can’t help but think if we were in an actual situation that would suck. But with more practice I’m sure that can be overcame.
@@preparedcitizens I love mine. I c grip my gun and my thumb is right over the pressure pad. It’s two buttons one is continuous one which is hardly used. The other goes off when squeezed. Double squeeze gets It to strobe.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that! It’s hell to try and get people to shoot 100 rounds now a days. Much less 1,000. But for those that can, at Tactical Response, the Fighting Rifle class you get to sling around 1,500 in a weekend. Excellent shooter ability and rifle test! I appreciate the comment brother!
A few hundred rds at the range with no issues should do as far as trusting the gun to fire in a defensive situation. But to honest u can't really trust anything with ur life but if a 1000 rds put u at ease have at it just a bit overkill to me
