What if your car takes 93 octane premium and you’re putting 89 octane which is plus cut that be the cause of that as well because I just changed my O2 sensor. My check engine light was off for two days and then I filled up gas didn’t have much moneyso I put 89 instead of 93.
I am getting both of these codes at same time.....PO2270 & PO2271 my question is how is it possible to be stuck lean & stuck rich at the same time? Is it possible that one of the new O2 sensors was bad? It's in a 2008 avalanche ltz z71 4wd v8 vortec engine. The 5.3l. Help?
I would test the 02 sensors and be sure they are good, along with the wiring. It's not common, but an engine can run rich and lean, usually from a bad sensor or timing problems.
Can this code somehow be triggered by the upstream o2 sensor? I ask because I got this code but when I looked at my scanner data the upstream o2 is showing no data at all (doesn't even show zero) and the downstream looks to be working as it should. Doesn't make sense in my case given the code pertains to the downstream sensor.

Read the code again to see if it’s a different code.
@@TEEDUBS so the code that was throwing before was for oxygen sensor one now it’s just showing that it’s running lien

They work together so they can affect each other. If sensor-1 is bad, I would replace it, clear the code, and see if it returns.
I installed a new o2 sensor, and this code popped up p2270
I’m having the same issue
