Peadar O Croidheain. She's speaking in a working-class Dublin accent not a Carlow accent. Also, since both her parents are actors and she spent most of her childhood growing up in Howth in Dublin (a posh middle-class suburb), one has to wonder where she picked up this accent. I believe she lives in Carlow now and that is where that connection is.

I don't think he misunderstood, he was just light-heartedly replying in a joke-y kind of way. He's not even American, he's Canadian, so I doubt he actually thought Saoirse meant "as YOU do".

As a film buff myself I love Irish actors and actresses but in her latest interviews I get the impression she is less interested in her latest films.

It's offensive when people refer to Ireland as "the UK" or "British". Northern Ireland is a part of the UK, the Republic of Ireland (or just Ireland as that's the official name of our country) is not.

jeezuschryst Over a year late dude lol. In the video, George said her name means freedom and then shouted "freedom!!!". He did this as a reference to the movie Braveheart, and an iconic scene where William Wallace shouts "freedom!!!!". Hence why I'm mentioning William Wallace.
