those bikers tho yesterday when i was there they were crazy just zoomin down the hill going into the other lane around corners, just 1 bump and theyre flying off that edge. great video.
Drove this road many times, both ways. It’s in northern Montana, in Glacier National Park, just below Watertown National Park, in Canada. The two parks combined make the only International Peace Park. The scenery on the Going to the Sun Road is truly awesome. No motor homes over a certain length are allowed, as there are many sharp curves/switchbacks. Of note, this road was built during the depression era, a government project. Several lives were lost-very dangerous work, but men were desperate for jobs.
---->>> Thanks for the trip! I was going cross-country one time, it was Not during the winter, and then going to the sun road was closed because of ice, snow. So I dilly dally around for an extra day, call them the next day and it was still closed. Then I had to move on. Too bad, but I was all through Yellowstone Park, I don't know how it compares to that, and I used to live in Denver, went all through the Colorado mountains. I used to like to go up the Colorado mountains all the way to Canada, and then cross the - not sure of the mountain chain name there, in Vancouver, then I would go to Vancouver British Columbia, and then start my way back down along the water - Redwood forest somethong else - and go to San Francisco, and then go all the way to San Diego. It was funny how it always rains in Washington and Oregon. Was a fun trip did it many times, mess around in New Mexico and places - - I'm from Long Island New York, but I used to live all over the place. It's astounding how people can NOT go to Colorado and all those beautiful places, they miss out on life itself.
I really want to do this drive but I have an intense fear of cliffs, are you really driving as fast as the video implies or did you speed up the video? I would have 100 cars behind me if I had to drive that fast!
Very cool. I have done some intense roads; Mt Mitchell, Pikes Peak, Mt Evans, Trail Ridge Road, Sea to Ski Highway, PCH; but this looks like it is up there in terms of sheer intensity and fear factor. Pikes Peak is pretty hard to top BTW.
L4MB4STE I know. unfortunately I didnt have a way to check the view/angle before recording..... total guesswork. I have to buy separate gopro bacpacs to do that.
I work at BuzzFeed and we'd love to feature this video in a piece about “Great American Road Trips” You Haven’t Heard About. Are you okay with this? We will give you an on-screen credit.

I did part of this from Lake Mcdonald lodge to The Loop last weekend (th-cam.com/video/02c4d5JsU24/w-d-xo.html) and was blown away by how scenic ever mile of that ride was - thanks for putting the video together and sharing!

Its a wicked road!! right over the rocky's and its scary at some parts.
Intensely beautiful. I'll have to go. It would be nice if the Overlook hotel was actually at the end of this road.
If you're willing to hike the highline trail, you can stay at Granite Peak Chalet, which has better views than the Logan Pass visitor center.
It's best to keep the rest of Glacier Natural Park untouched. Over developing will alter the ecosystem.
Incredible video. Thank you for sharing. How do you make a time lapse this slow?
Going this July in a Model T.
gregwddriver how was it? I took my parents there in 2012 when i lived in Bozeman. It's definitely Gods country.
was that time lapse or was everyone throwing caution to the wind and ignoring the 25 MPH sign ?
AMEN! My next search was going to figure out the speed limit since this video appears FAST... I think I could handle 25 mph. whew!
@Louie: It was a few days after 4th of july this year. Actually logan pass was closed in june.
I like how there are variations in speed. Very effective.
Stunning!
I really want to do this drive but I have an intense fear of cliffs, are you really driving as fast as the video implies or did you speed up the video? I would have 100 cars behind me if I had to drive that fast!
What focal length setting did you use on the gopro for this video?
+vista7 Cool! this was an easy drive really. Pikes peak is much more intense. But yeah this one is really scenic!
What time of the year was this
I can only imagine going there right now.
@Thomas: one is Intro from The xx. dont remember where i found the second one :)
Amazing video. as for the second song, sound hound yielded no results. If there's even a clue as to what it is, please let me know. just beautiful.
Matthew Fisher - Upllifted Heart
What song is playing in the background as of 2:06?
......... like your slow mo............ Scary ride at some points..........
Stephen Fiore the whole ride is terrifying....
A 14-year-old Utah girl was just killed by falling rocks while driving this road with her family. First such fatality since 1996. So sad.
Exact location at the .23 mark, just before the tunnel- very sad.
There is no music until about the 2:03 mark ???
Angela Voss yeah TH-cam removed it 😞
beautiful view
What was the driving date of this video? Snow still around I take it it was in June? For this year the Going to the Sun road opened very late.
I want to go there next year so bad.
Magui BB I plan on going this sumer. I only live about two hours away.
What's the state where stay this park?
Nice job.
This is so pretty
Oh hell no - no way that’s a steep drop
Where did you find these songs for this video? Sound Search can't I'd them. :-)
excellent
On a day like that, the camera should have been pointed askew to the road picking up the view and the road. Where's your inner DOP??
L4MB4STE I know. unfortunately I didnt have a way to check the view/angle before recording..... total guesswork. I have to buy separate gopro bacpacs to do that.
