I had kenwood speakers in my car!!! You could hear me when I was still a couple blocks away!!! I had to turn the music down to sneak home so my parents didn’t notice what time it was! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Joel, I seen them back in the early 80's in Evansville IN. and they stole the show, and now all these years later you"Joel" are one of today's most amazing guitarist out there, with one of the most Hard Rockin' Bands of all times !! You guys are awesome !!! Never grow old... And keep Rockin' !!!
I don’t care if you love or hate this song or these guys but there is absolutely no way you can say these guys aren’t tight as hell and amazing musicians!!!! Off the charts for sure !!!!!!!!
Man, this is the best version I have EVER heard! The improv is first rate. Still a great band who don't get the love they should. They're pretty much resigned to county fairs, local festivals and the like. I remember when they were headlining major arenas around the world.
I saw them at a local festival several years ago. They sure seem to be having fun, and they are making a living while doing it. I think that is the definition of success.
Brad Gillis, the guy that stepped up and was a major badass during such a terrible time when Randy Rhoads passed and made life a little better for us all..... when we were grieving..... dude is a masterful player. Then he blessed us all with Night Ranger.... and continues to bless us all with being a badass .... Thanks Brad!!!
@@unclesalty7778 sorry, meant to thumbs up. Yeah I saw them back in the 80's at Rupp arena in Lexington ky. I believe they opened up for kiss. Loved them then, love em now.
Fuck yeah!! He NAILED that guitar solo around half way through the song...........just NAILED it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great energy....I'm 51...I would have been up and out of my seat and LOSING it!!
+Stephen Jones Totally agree Stephen I would have been going freaking wild if I was there ! What was up with the audience ? Were they on Thorazine or some other heavy sedative ? Goto 5:48 and the girl is checking her watch ! What ? Incredible performance !!
I was born 1993 and grew up around this music and music like them because of my dad. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how much I miss those days and how much I would give to have them again. One of my all time favorite bands! There still as good as the day I heard them! Rock on Night Ranger!
This a down right KICK-ASS tune. It's such a original/ one of a kind. Nothing ever done can compare. Love this tune, always have. The shit comments are words without meaning. This group speaks for itself. The majority knows talent and the few. Don't know shit.
I've seen these guys so many times. As a lead guitarist, I always tried to steal licks from Brad. I also am an huge fan of the late Randy Rhodes. I saw him before his tragic death, with Ozzy. I also saw Brad Gilles with Ozzy. Brad took over for Randy Rhodes and finished the world tour. He was fantastic, and obviously he had tremendous respect for RR, as a guitarist, a fan, and a friend. Brad seamlessly filled unfillable shoes, and was grieving,as well we're, yet I could tell he was under so much self inflicted pressure to do his best for Randy's memory. Brad was as fast, as gifted, and he did it right, in my book. I've seen Night Ranger more than 10 times. And was never disappointed. And I got to meet and rap with Brad between sets at a place in Kenosha, WI called "The Brat Stop." It's a well know club about 5 miles North of the Wisconsin/Illinois border. We talked like friends. Just two dudes who love guitar and the stuff that all guitarists do. I told him that I didn't know how to read music, and if I would've taken lessons, I would've probably quit. He totally understood, and he showed me a couple tricks that helped me because I have big hands, and thick fingers. The rest of the night, he would connect with me by winking, and then he would face me and show me how to deal with my issue. It was so cool, and a small venue, which made it even more cool. I asked him if he could squeeze in "Good Bye." He said it wasn't on the list, and then at the end of the encore, he pointed me out to Jack, and said "my friend Jeff asked me if we were going to play "Good Bye" and told Jack that I was a lead guitarist. Jack said, maybe he'd like to play it with us, and yes. I got to follow Brad on the final lead break!! I was so nervous, but I knew the studio version note for note. It was a fucking dream come true, and I found my zone. I had the long hair, and was wearing a Motorhead shit Black with White sleeves. I shocked the girl that I brought with me. She was speechless. For quite awhile, about 15 minutes. It was so unreal, to communicate with a true guitar hero on stage, the way musicians do. Through their instruments. I'll always love Night Ranger. Brad planned it the moment he told me it wasn't on the set list. And he had the crew set up one of his guitars, and gave me a channel. Pretty fucking AWESOME!!
Wow mayn..thats a freakin dream come true there...i woulda freaked out going on a stage in front of folks...wouldnt have been able to play a note right to save my life...i bet they didnt have all them video phones back then to record it ether
Dude, just reading this. What an awesome memory. I had wondered if Brad was cool like that or the "typical rock star" all into himself. Glad to know he is one of us.... well sort of. LOL! ROCK ON!
@@bigmikeandwestcoastwillie Damn I'm jealous, your lucky! I wish they would come to Huntsville AL! No argument there! Just saw them live for the first time last week and they absolutely rocked it from start to finish. Jack Blades still has the voice and a crap ton of stage charisma, Brad is a beast on guitar, Kelly rocked the drums and the harmonies with Jack, the whole band was just spectacular. I'll never forget it.
may God bless you guys for a long time. you are a timeless rock band and you will inspire many generations to come. your musicianship is just perfect. rock on NIGHT RANGER!!!
Not putting the original guy down, but I saw this performed live at Jones Beach with Joel Hoekstra a few years back, and WOW was it a pleasure to see this song finally brought to its full potential. You'd have to hear it live to really appreciate it; but it was just this total *explosion* of energy!
The first time I heard this song was on American Bandstand when they performed and I was immediately hooked. Went out and bought the cassette and played it to death! Dawn Patrol is an epic album.
Some of the original Monsters of Rock. Still sounding fantastic. Love live Night Ranger. No matter who plays that second solo, to me it's always a tribute to the genius of Jeff Watson. One of the classiest guys to ever pick up a guitar.
We went to see Night Ramger a couple weeks ago. It was awesome! Free backstage passes VIP passes got to meet everyone in the band. And everything was free courtesy of Brad Gillis!

At least it in my heart, and the world can't take that memory away 😉👍❤
Brad Gillis is sooooooo underrated as a guitar -player it’s sad. He and Jack Blades just are so Night Ranger it isn’t funny. They have been playing music together 45 years and it shows. Keep on humping it guys!
Night Ranger reminds me of Winger in that they just don't get the respect they deserve for the first-class and world-class musicians they are...these guys are HIGHLY TALENTED MASTERS of rock music !!
I caught the ROA show on Jan 19 at 8pm ... you rock! I've been in Night Ranger resurgence mode for the last two weeks ... barely put my guitar down since!
I love these guys . I am proud to be from the San Francisco bay area and had the opportunity to meet them back in 1985 and I must admit they, truly are a class act even got to kiss Jack Blades to the person who made the comment that he has aged ( they look amazing for almost being 60) even, though I no longer live in Walnut Creek California and reside in Arizona every time I hear them it brings back fond memories and I font feel so old.
Whenever this song comes on the radio the volume goes to 10 every single time.
