  • Bryan and Dr. David Petersen explore the profound connection between language, poetry, and divine worship, drawing on concepts from C.S. Lewis's "That Hideous Strength" and biblical scripture. They examine how poetry represents a deeper truth, beyond systematics, that leads to a fuller expression of worship and praise. Bryan and David also discuss the role of angels, the nature of human language as a unique gift from God, and the interplay between spoken word, poetry, and music in the act of worship. The dialogue provides a thoughtful reflection on the importance of precise language and the spiritual significance of poetry and music in Christian life.

There is a need to discuss the progression of the position of man before God in the Garden - as a closest to YHWH, and a loss of it. Our place was given to the angels in the Old Covenant period, see Ps. 8 (man is a bit lower than the angels). That’s why the song that Isaiah hear leads him almost to despair…
But then Jesus comes as the Man and restores us to the dominion position. That’s why Rev. 19 is SO beautiful! Because everything is back in order!!
