I spent some time in Nuneaton in the late 80 s and into the 90 s .every day I would walk by Larry's house .if he was at home he had a flag flying on a pole in his garden . One day as I was walking by he was standing by his front gate I recognised him and I waved to him saying hello . without hesitation he smiled said hello and gave me a big wave .later that week I watched him on the TV . He was so down to earth and very genuine that day .may he rest in peace
It's a shame comedians from his era aren't allowed anymore due to the over sensitives that have taken over and are offended by everything. Larry was a true showman, we need his kind in an otherwise miserable world. Once again Paul, a superb job
@@darranweston9425 I believe like Kenny Williams and Frankie Howerd he was a " Queer" trailblazer. AND It took balls to be ' open' .. well as open as you could be back then.
Larry was one of the best comedians of his time, everybody loved him , such a natural comedienne, I loved Larry and have also visited his grave , thank you Paul for putting this on your channel.
I liked the Guy . An individual who was not ashamed to be himself . He gave me many laughs . We have lost so many from that Era , Entertainers today just don't seem to have that , same Spark . RIP, Larry .
Larry Grayson was of his time. One of the great variety acts on peak time telly on Saturday nights. In the 70s/80s. He was up there with Bruce Forsythe. Bob Monkhouse. Les Dawson etc...I loved his camp persona..catch phrases like look at the dust here? Shut that door. And of course what a gay day..!!...sadly all these great entertainers have now passed on ...much missed. But. as I said they was of their time....Thanks again Paul for all the miles you travel. And for brining these celebrities and final resting places to this platform 😂❤.....
He brought such laughter & fun onto our screens I preferred him to Bruce Forsyth when he took over the Generation Game Loved his “Shut that Door” & “What a Gay Day” 😂😂 I think he was the first Camp Act I saw on TV in the 70’s & he was very popular especially when he talked about “Everard, Apricot Lil & Slack Alice 😂 Great Entertainer Look forward to watching Paul 💙👏🏻
While working at Birmingham Airport years ago. While waiting for the delayed offloading of cases onto the carousels. while the passengers had to wait....I was surprised to bump into Larry, who was patiently waiting with the other passengers. It was 30 minutes I will never forget. he was a very friendly and genuinely nice fella. I live in the Midlands and will one day pay my respects. thanks Paul.
I met him at the Swan Centre in Yardley signing autographs what a wonderful man he was . Nothing more to say but what a great loss to the Entertainment industry ... RIP Larry
Really enjoy your videos Paul. Larry Grayson and others from that era were certainly talented. I remember meeting him way back in 1986 in Torquay and asked for his autograph. He was very friendly asking where I was from etc. such a genuine person. He also done a sketch in the cafe, such a gentleman.
Thank you Paul, Larry was a very humble , jovel man , I'm from Banbury also. He was well respected from all in Banbury. Lovely man he brought many many good memories of my youth . Thank you Larry, never forgot where he was from. Proud man . Rest in peace for eternity .
Thanks Paul for this great video again. I really love them. Nice that he's buried with his family there. Have a nice evening and take care of yourself. Greetings from Germany Melinda

Wonderful man and Person, so Down too Earth and kind . You Will Never see a comic like Him again Pual. Took him So long too Be a Star, then Become one of the best comic of his Generation. Rest in Peace Larry
❤ great tribute once again, you are in my own town, I knew Larry Grayson awesome.. 🙏 I can remember him doing is act in our local club… thank you paul 🤗👍❤️..
Larry Grayson [and Isla St Clair] elevated The Generation Game to essential Saturday night viewing. Nothing but good memories of the man and the show! 📺
I remember when he was first on TV back in the 70s,so many people were shocked to see a man act so camp on TV. Its nothing today, but the world is a different place. And somtimes not for the better. Rip Larry.
He lived opposite North Warwickshire College where I went and we would walk past his house daily. He would often wave at the students. At the time the biggest star in the area.
He had a tough start in life. Like many tv comedians he was probably at his best performing in front of a live audience. I don't recall Game For a Laugh being on tv all that long but the Generation Game returned to our screens.
Absolutely loved The Generation Game as a kid in the 70s/80s . I think it was his clubland sense of comedy as well as being as camp as he could that made us all laugh . Larry was definitely one of a kind and fantastic with it . R.I.P Larry Grayson . God bless .
I used to watch Larry grayson with my mam and dad when I was little. We've lost so many brilliant comics/entertainers over the years back when every one wasn't so sensitive lol our council has just banned chubby brown from my town hes been here loads of times the towns not happy, hes not for everyone but I think people should be able to decide if they want to go or not. Thankyou for another great vid
Oh my. I really need to press the notifications bell. Larry Grayson. For me, Legend and neighbour. I’m a Nuneaton girl, but now live in Cornwall. During the later years of Larry’s life he lived around the corner from me. He would often pass my house or pass you in the street and never failed to say hello. My dad was so funny. He would see Larry and say ‘ alright mate’. Such a dear, lovely man was Larry. So humble. I visited his grave last year when I went to visit my mum. I’m sure I will go again. Thankyou for remembering this amazing man.
Thankyou again for this tribute Paul. Larry a very funny man I loved the generation game when he hosted it, great Saturday evenings then. R.I.P Larry you are missed 💗🌹

My Nan and grandad rest at Oasten rd also used to visit his house on Hinckley rd and he grew up on Clifton rd when he was a young boy and when I was a kid many years we used to see him a peace windridge and smith vets with his beautiful poodle love Larry xx
I used to enjoy him very much and disregarded the risqué parts, they were over as fast as they came, so didn’t register like that at tge time. Loved hearing about his friends Everard and Slack Alice! So glad you found his grave Paul, not knowing his real name or all the other family members he shared his last resting place with, I would never have found it! Just hope that maybe some viewers of your program who may live not too far away from this cemetery may be encouraged to take some flowers, pot plants even bulbs to plant ready for next spring! Anything to show Larry that he really isn’t forgotten. I saw a large vase on the grave, so they obviously hoped “someone “ might bring flowers some time ….Thankyou for this walk down memory lane Paul, and the little clip of a very dapper Larry, who always did look smart! Love and light! Helen in Norfolk 🙋♀️💕😘😘👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘
Hi Paul great video as always mate my late grandparents knew him well as he went to school in abbey green with him I remember going past him on my bike in the early 90s and he spoke to my dad he was walking a brown poodle by woolworths in nuneaton
❤❤Thank you so much for showing the grave of Larry grayson. I loved watching him when I was growing up. Thank you for laughs Larry. May you rest in peace. Thank you once again Paul ❤ ❤
I'm old as well Paul, I also remember him very well and used to watch the Generation Game every Saturday night. Great video as always, keep them coming, your doing a great job.😎😎👍👍
Larry Grayson was old school, brilliant, respectful and a legendary performer. His brand of comedy was before it's time. It paved the way for camp performers, drag queens, and acceptance. He had superb comic timing, the ability to bring in his "friends". We all thought we knew Everard and Apricot Lil.
I said that the other day it’s like autumn I was freezing beautiful burial ground picturesque I loved Larry Grayson he was so funny my kind of humour loved him rip Larry ❤️😊
Lovely Paul….now rewatching your Noele Gordon film. Loved the recent mini series about Noele. I was a bit concerned about how Larry would be portrayed, hoped it wasn’t going to be a send up but it was done really well. The portrayal focused on Larry the man and friend of Noele and not his stage persona. Keep ‘em coming!
Larry was one of the worlds nice people. He had to work hard for his success and it came quite late for him. Never forgot his roots and remained humble
Larry was a highly talented entertainer from what is now a bygone time. To watch this makes me smile as it brings back memories from my childhood and my late mother who loved him and his camp humour . Thanks for this Paul, it’s made me smile on a boring Wednesday work night :) x
Nice tribute Paul as always to an iconic entertainer Larry such a funny man the old style music hall entertainers we will not see his likes again! I always enjoyed his entrance music he would come on stage to it was the Judy Garland Classic "The Man That Got Away" dragging his chair behind him. He loved the great days of Hollywood and the Classic stars and of course the great Music Hall stars! 25 Million viewers for "The Genration Game" can't be bad can it - Larry gone but not forgotten we still have lots of his great shows and moments captured on video to watch he still makes me laugh - "Shut That Door!" - Thankyou Larry we love and miss you. R.I.P - Mark - Wallasey - Wirral 1/6/23.
Up there with one of my favourites. His comedy and wit always had me laughing and his wit was sharp! Fantastic video and you never fail remembering nostalgic moments ❤
I remember when Larry Grayson took over from Bruce Forsyth and wasn't sure if the show was going to be as good. But, I have to say that he did a great job. It's hard to take over from a legend such as Bruce when people loved him so much. He brought his own humour to the show along with his catch phrases to great applaud, especially after Bruce's own ones. It was a brave move.
Bless him, I loved Larry. I need to visit this grave. Yesterday I paid my respect to Patrick Fyffe. And shortly I’ll be visiting Noele Gordon’s resting place. There was a documentary about Larry not so long ago, it might be here on TH-cam. I’ve read his biography too, an interesting read. Highly recommend. Cheers Paul. Another great video. ❤
Great Entertainer, well loved and respected by the public. Enjoyed watching The Generation Game on BBC1 Saturday evenings and his funny interactions with the shows contestants. They were good old days and great family entertainment!!! Thanks for the laughs, RIP Larry 🙏🙏

Standup comedy isn't my thing but the publicity for Chubby Brown's shows do state that people might find the humour offensive.
