Useful tips. Thank you. Gilbert ! Just one small correction, I think the station at ZJJ should be the west station and not the east station as mentioned.
Hello sir, I want to save money, so can I buy 2 tickets from HK to ZJJ via SZ, instead of direct ticket which is more expensive, will bring 30inch luggage, like this: First ticket: 08:30 Hong Kong West Kowloon 08:49 Shenzhen North G6080 19m Second ticket: 08:55 Shenzhen North 14:52 Zhangjiajie West G6080 5h 57m So I just change seat in the same train same class right? Tku...
Regarding buying train tickets before travel, if I’m not mistaken the C-Trip app allows purchase up to 2 months ahead of travel date and not just 2 weeks.
Hey, hope the video was useful to you. So far, the senior discount for us was done over the counter at the train station. You can also try the official website but apps like Trip.com doesn’t cater for senior discount as far as we experience.
Hey Buddy, you have made great videos. Don't let naysayers interfere with your channel. Like many content creators, you also have the option to deactivate the 'Dislike' button. Cheers!
Yes, definitely. The price difference between the premium and first class is quite small so you might as well upgrade. The premium seat is wider and provides greater privacy which will be good if the train journey is long.
Hi i want to know whether there is locker facility available at train stations like xingtai or any other stations for someone who wants to just visit one place and came back to the station same day. Information in this regard will be very useful.
@@gibbontravelogue thanks for quick response. Do you have any other detail regarding the lockers like charges & from where to find them. Or from where i can find such information

Yes, if you missed the high speed train, you can rebook the next one at the ticket counter at the train station. We have not tried rebooking using the Trip.com app and I don’t think it can be done.
Thank you for the information. I am planning a trip to zjj from gz as well. This video was a great help. Can you share how you travel from gz airport to the high-speed train station? What are the options, cost and most importantly the duration. I hope to travel directly to zjj after landing in gz. Thanks again.
So glad you find this video helpful. At the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, the best way to go to the train station is by DiDi. There are three train stations in Guangzhou which you can depart from, to Zhangjiajie; Guangzhou Baiyun, Guangzhou South or Guangzhou North. Check the distance, it should roughly take you around half an hour.
The DiDi cost is inexpensive, so more importantly is the timing. You will need to match the timing of your arrival at the airport to the departure of your train. Do give some time allowance
So far, I’ve not been able to do so online through Trip.com. I was able to buy discounted tickets at the train station itself. You will need to produce passport or a student pass at the counter to get the discount. It’s quite a big discount, definitely worth the trouble.
Generally, there are English signs that accompany the Chinese signs, especially in the major cities. In fact, in these bigger cities, there are also announcements in English as well.
Hi Gibbon, thanks for the informative video on buying train tickets. I am bringing 8 senior travellers ( above 60 - 68) on a tight budget. So the discount tickets for trains and attractions for elderly foreigners will be advantageous. We are going to Chengdu/Chongqing/Zhangjiajie for about 13 days beginning in early Nov to avoid peak season ( to save cost). Can you advise how to buy discounted train tickets for senior travellers, online or buy at the counter? Note : For Chongqing, we follow your 10 must-visit spots there. Sorry to ask so many questions as we are first time going on our own., Thanks
Hey no problem at all. Ask as many questions as you require. I’ll try my best to answer them. For the train tickets, we use trip.com to buy them. Do the identity verification on the app so that you can be eligible for the senior discount. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!
Hi, thanks for the video. A great help for planning my trip to China. Also I wanted to know what the student discount applies to… The train ticket? When would I show this information? And what do I need to provide to prove I’m a student? Thank you again for the great video!
Hey, thanks and glad the video has been helpful to you. Yes, the discount applies to the train tickets. I cannot be very sure, but for foreigners, all checks and verification are done at the entry points into the train station (at the side). The locals will go through the automated gantries.
I believe you are asking how we got to the Guangzhou Baiyun Train Station from Guangzhou Airport… we took a DiDi, pretty convenient and took us around 20 minutes.
