  • THROTTLE BODY and AIR FILTER CLEANING | Vios / Yaris is a detailed step-by-step guide on disassembling and cleaning the throttle body and air filter of Toyota Vios / Yaris for better engine performance.
    As a natural by-product of combustion, carbon inevitably builds up in the engine's throttle body and intake and exhaust systems. Thus, regular cleaning and is necessary to keep the throttle body and air filter in good shape and maintain peak engine performance.
    As carbon gradually accumulates between the butterfly valve and throttle body, air flow gets impeded. This can cause rough idling and other issues. Failure to remove the built up carbon inside the throttle body can negatively affect the car's idling and overall performance. As gunk builds up engine power can deminish and cause increase fuel consumption. Overall, this causes a less than satisfactory engine performance and poor driving experience.
    If this is your first time cleaning the throttle body, the information in this video will be helpful to you. If you have a different car model, you can still use the information in this tutorial because the same principles apply.

    Hi there! I've just cleaned the throttle body of my 2008 yaris considering all the steps you were doing on this video!
    But I noted the intake manifold is extremely dirty.. I was wondering shall I leave it that dirty or I need to remove and clean the manifold too! In this case i need you to make a video explaining how to clean the intake manifold.
    Thanks alot.

    hi sir good day.. i am done cleaning my toyota vios TB,MAF sensor and PCV valve and it's success.. thanks a lot sir.. i just want to ask again sir if there is a check valve of brake booster or hydro vac and if it is replacesable.. i am trying now to troubleshoot my brake booster and it's very hard to find which one is damage the check valve or hydrovac.. thanks and godbless

    • @Viosified
      @Viosified  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi sir. That's good to hear 😊
      Yes, there is a check valve at the end of the hose that connects to the hydrovac. You can pull it out of the hydrovac if you want to replace it.
      (Some vehicles have a check valve that is inside the vacuum hose itself. In others, it is in-between two vacuum hoses for the hydrovac. For Vios, it is located at the end of the hose that connects to the booster/hydrovac itself.) God bless!

    Can you tell me how the purge control valve works?

    • @Viosified
      @Viosified  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Thanks for asking. Well, in a nutshell, the Purge Control Valve is an important part of the EVAP system which helps prevent harmful gasoline fumes from escaping into the atmosphere and causing pollution. In modern vehicles like Vios/Yaris, etc., the Purge Control Valve is a solenoid that is electronically operated by the ECU to control the flow of hydrocarbon gases from the gas tank and charcoal canister into the intake manifold via a network of hoses. This system allows hydrocarbon fumes to get mixed with air and fuel in the combustion cycle by virtue of the engine’s intake vacuum. The purge valve is normally closed when the engine is "OFF" but when the engine is running, the ECU supplies the purge valve solenoid with the necessary voltage which determines how much the valve opens. This allows an appropriate amount of fuel vapor from the charcoal canister to pass through to the intake manifold and cylinders which is then burned inside the engine during combustion. This way the gasoline fumes is utilized by the engine during power production and emissions is regulated or filtered through the catalytic converter which minimizes air polution. I hope my brief explanation has answered your question :)

    Where is the IACV? I didn't see it does it have one?

    • @Viosified
      @Viosified  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The 2NZ-FE engine doesn't have a separate IACV. Instead, the ECM manages the idle speed through the throttle body's electronic throttle control. The electronic throttle control system adjusts the amount of air entering the engine by controlling the throttle plate's position electronically. The ECM calculates and adjusts the throttle opening to maintain the desired idle RPM

      @@Viosified Thanks. I am having problem with rpm going down instead of up when I turn on the AC that's why I asked. It started when I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery to diagnose my alarm. I relearned the idle back to normal but AC on rpm became abnormal.

      @@rompecolleoni If everything was fine before you disconnected the negative terminal, it could be the ECM still relearning. Drive around with AC "on." Everything usually comes back to normal after about 50 -100kms of driving.

      @@Viosifiedit's been 3 months but the rpm is still abnormal when AC is on during idling. The engine jerks because the rpm falls. I don't know what to check now. Do you have anymore ideas as to why?
