    I have re-edited a couple of trips on the US Pacific Coast into one, in order to remove copyright music and possible future bans. Still hating my voice but after a few requests I have added a little commentary and a route schedule that gives some idea of where I was at any given point along the journey. I say it in the video but to me after quite a few tours, that route remains probably my favourite, and one that I would never get tired to ride. Sorry for rehashing old footage but who doesn't need a bit of virtual travel in these times?

      @@fernandomorua4215 It is always subjective some people like more the culture and historic side, others want remote locations, probably most of us I suppose enjoy the best nature has to offer. This last part is definitely in this trip and to me it is definitely not to miss if you get a chance. Just avoid summers as I am sure that road gets really busy with tourists and camper vans and probably not as enjoyable. I took always trip around end September to mid October, a little fresher at times but much quieter.

    I did the Pacific Coast from Vancouver to the Mexican border in Sep/Oct 2014 - a wonderful experience. Especially at the state campsites in California, it seemed you always went to sleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. My album of the trip was a little like yours in terms of sound - 'This Empty Northern Hemisphere' (Gregory Alan Isakov) - very atmospheric music in the tent at night.
    The other song that came to mind often was 'Boomer's Story' by Ry Cooder:
    Take a tip from one who's travelled
    And never stopped a-ramblin' 'round
    'Cause once you get the roamin' fever
    You never want to settle down, boy
    You never want to settle down.
    But when the trip was over, the song that summed it up best was 'Do It Again' by Royksopp & Robyn.
    Don't care what they say, it hurts so good.
    I don't wanna stop, I know I should.
    I don't think they were talking about multi-day bike trips, but I choose to hear it that way. :-)

    The giant redwoods are amazing to touch very soft and husky right?,I went to Sequoia NP and would highly recommend it ,the generals highway is a winding climb to the largest tree the general Sherman, unforgettable.

      Thanks as lot David, in the process of re-editing some of the older ones due to music copyright. This particular video is actually 2 trips I took few years back, combined into one as I thought it made sense to have a video about the Pacific Coast Highway, at least a good part of it. First was from Portland to SF and another one was from Medford (Border between Oregon and California ) down to San Luis Obispo. It's a wonderful part of the world, one of my favourites. When friends ask me what is the nicest thing/place I have seen in my travels, usually those trees come to mind first... Pitching a tent surrounded by them like in Jedediah Smith S.P and other few places it's memorable. I have been to Yosemite ages ago on a mountain bike and did see some large sequoias in Mariposa but I haven't quite made it to Sequoia NP so I will keep that in mind!

    Hi Gianni, thank you for your inspiring videos. After all your travels, what is your recommendation regarding the use (or not) of helmets? Many thanks! :)

    • @BromptonTraveler
      @BromptonTraveler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a personal choice you make. The recommendation is for all to use helmets as much as possible. I have no doubt that in a bad fall they can be of great help and in extreme cases, save lives. I have had some discussions in here with people feeling I should give a good example and wear one...The reason I don't while touring, is that I find it uncomfortable to wear for long hours each day and I rather have a soft hat which can better protect from sun, and keep you warm when cold; bottom line is that I am willing to take the risks involved. A good option if space to carry it is not an issue is carrying one anyway, using it on those section where you are more at risk whether it is fast descents or riding in heavy traffic and so on... Cheers

      You'll be very disappointed to hear that I don't carry cooking stuff... I love cooking but on a Brompton I try to keep things simple and up to a month I can survive on cold sandwiches, fruit, nuts, snacks with a proper warm meal during the day. If I was going for longer than a month and on a different bike it would be different as I wouldn't have to limit weight as much and cooking does save quite a bit of money too.
